41/365. 26/10/08. Think About It recorded live at the BBC in 1968. And the album version. I think I prefer the live version but both show off those flying fingers to great effect. Great riff. Parts of the solo were to be used again in Dazed and Confused.
From the Archives Today is very cold with HIGH winds so I thought a nice flower picture would help get us thru this COLD day.

It's noticeable how the blue is darker than on the pole sign. This is the same format of sticker as seen on the 4-star pumps at Central Garage, Cark-in-Cartmel, in Soft Top, Hard Shoulder (1991) — see below. The cut-off corners of the diamond, as if it were trying to 'break out' of the square, were an interesting design choice—previous Power logos had always shown the whole diamond (as the Unleaded and Diesel stickers continued to do) and the later logo took a different approach to the diamond itself.
This Power logo (replacing an earlier one as seen here in Reeth), was introduced in the mid-1980s by Hargreaves Fuel Services, who themselves had a diamond-shaped 'HG' (Hargreaves Group) logo. I've put Hargreaves Petroleum / Hargreaves Fuel Services' address, The Pygmalion, 2-4 Market Street, Cleckheaton, as the location.
The story between Hargreaves and Charringtons is complex because of previous joint ventures, but as far I have been able to work out, Hargreaves were bought by the Coalite Group in 1986, who then merged Hargreaves' mostly northern fuel business with the mostly southern Charringtons business. Power, along with Freedom whom Hargreaves had bought in 1985, and then John Hudson's fuels business in about 1990, supplied about 130 sites in 1990 around the time I got the sticker, across Northern England, the Midlands, East Anglia, and North Wales, but this was the first time (as a 7-year old) I'd ever seen a "modern" Power garage that was actually open.

Please note that it's not like this *used* to be a road at any time. It's never been a road. Ever. Also, you'd have to drive over a giant curb to even get up there. Also, there's another "road closed" sign on the right because it's obviously such a temptation that they need to tell you twice.
Disappointing day at Bempton Cliffs last week with Hans Davis (Sadloafer).Confronted with a sea fret (which has lasted into this week!).Will try again next month! Kitttiwakes and gannets - wonderful birds.

I think this is likely my favorite shot from the whole shoot. Best viewed large.
This was actually just a test shot, and after this I asked Brandi to brush her hair out of her face, which was clearly a mistake.
Light is provided by a single Canon 430ex bouncing off a 46" white umbrella off lower right, triggered by cable (by a hacked up PC sync cable, modified with 1/8" phono jacks in the middle, and a long phono extension cord).
This shoot was really my first time working so heavily with artificial light, and especially with strobes.
