I think this is part of a barware set, too big for a drinking glass. I love the black & white graphics. No makers mark on the glass though but looks like something Libby would have produced.

41/365. 26/10/08. Think About It recorded live at the BBC in 1968. And the album version. I think I prefer the live version but both show off those flying fingers to great effect. Great riff. Parts of the solo were to be used again in Dazed and Confused.
I think that this bird passed on "Jehl's Scale" from memory when I saw it in flight. There were two different birds present and both might have been good AMOYs.
Severely cropped digi-scoped image.

Matt D?Arrigo: Art: a force for change
Matt D?Arrigo is CEO and founder of A Reason to Survive (ARTS), a nationally recognized San Diego organization providing arts programs and career preparation for youth facing adversity. His belief in the power of the arts stems from the year he spent caring for his mother and sister as they both battled cancer, during which he relied heavily on his art and love of music to help him face an extraordinary life challenge. A student in the ARTS Empower program was the subject of Inocente, winner of the 2012 Oscar © for best short documentary.
Thank God for this sign.
Please note that it's not like this *used* to be a road at any time. It's never been a road. Ever. Also, you'd have to drive over a giant curb to even get up there. Also, there's another "road closed" sign on the right because it's obviously such a temptation that they need to tell you twice.
“Hanky Panky,” “Mony Mony,” “I Think We’re Alone Now,” “Crimson and Clover,” “Crystal Blue Persuasion,” and “Draggin’ The Line” are just some of the 24 Top 40 hits by Tommy James and The Shondells, routinely heard on radio, television, and film soundtracks. At the age of 15, Peter Noone achieved international fame as “Herman,” lead singer of the legendary pop band Herman’s Hermits. Universally regarded as one of Rock & Roll’s finest and most versatile entertainers, Noone’s classic hits include “I’m Into Something Good,” “Mrs. Brown, You’ve Got a Lovely Daughter,” “I’m Henry VIII, I Am,” “Can’t You Hear My Heartbeat,” “There’s a Kind of Hush,” and “Listen People.”

I think this is likely my favorite shot from the whole shoot. Best viewed large.
This was actually just a test shot, and after this I asked Brandi to brush her hair out of her face, which was clearly a mistake.
Light is provided by a single Canon 430ex bouncing off a 46" white umbrella off lower right, triggered by cable (by a hacked up PC sync cable, modified with 1/8" phono jacks in the middle, and a long phono extension cord).
This shoot was really my first time working so heavily with artificial light, and especially with strobes.
Model is Brandi Tweed.

Mike Rudolph (yellow gloves), a fishing vessel safety examiner from the Coast Guard's Marine Safety Unit Portland, teaches students ways to make themselves easier to be seen from aircraft overhead in Newport, Oregon Mar. 24, 2017. Rudolph, along with three other instructors, just completed an 18-hour drill conductor's course in which they taught local commercial fishermen how to conduct various emergency drills for the crews aboard their own vessels. When you think about Women's Football, most guys think about Lingerie Football. And girls in bikini's running around the field tossing the Football. But that really isn't Women's Football. LockedIN Magazine took a look into the North Florida Pumas and John Lynch found out that this was Hard Hitting, Full Contact FOOTBALL
During our Toronto wanders in the area near the Museum of Contemporary Canadian Art (MOCCA) and, not coincidentally, the Centre For Addiction And Mental Health (CAMH), I came across this gentleman sitting and having a cigarette break. He appeared to be a 'free spirit', like many people who have lived in this area for many years. They have fallen through the cracks in the social support system and occupy rooming houses and old hotel rooms. Now the area is becoming 'upscale' and their opportunities to find or keep affordable accommodation become increasingly scarcer. - JW
I captured this shot on the fly with the idea of treating it as a black and white image. The colour of the original is not inspiring but it looks fine like this. The original image was captured using a hand-held Nikon D5000 fitted with a 55-200 VR kit lense set to 165mm, ISO200, Aperture priority, f/10, 1/160 sec. PP in GIMP: crop to square format, convert to B&W using film simulation (Tri-x model), tone curve adjust to improve the range of tones, create a new layer with darkened corners to combine with the man's image using Overlay mode, burn (darken) the area just behind the man's head to tone down a distracting light area, dodge (lighten) areas on the face to help them stand out better, both using a large soft-edged brush, flatten, sharpen, add border and scale to 1024 wide for posting.

Not the slogan that Nintendo have used for their latest UK touch generations / DS Lite advert, but they might as well have. Repeat after me: women gamers don't need everything to be pink. (The article's awful, but the comments are largely sane, or were the last time I checked.)
