This was probably the best shoot I've ever had. The band was really cool, and way fun. The ideas they had were really funny and we all had a great time, with lots of laughs and giggles. Check them out, they're a great bunch of guys with a whole mess of talent!

I'm not sure I got the name of the artist right. When I asked the owner about names of the artists and I proceeded to writing them down, he suspected me of being an arts dealer, and I didn't feel welcome any more, so I left before he told me in so many words...
Boston, MA; at the Tam bar; lots of these Budweiser signs in St. Louis. But I don't think I've seen one like this for Michelob.
Rodin sculpted this image of the Thinker in 1876. The story is based on Dante's Inferno. He is seated at the gates of hell, watching the Inferno, and brooding in contemplation. His strong body is tensely twisted from his head to his curled toes, suggesting difficult intellectual anguish. While the right arm holds up the head, the left hand is open, as if ready understand the reality of his vision and to act upon it.

Just Think -- Had your very lovely lady showed up here unexpectedly at Resorts World, with her two adorable little Westy Terriers in tow, she would have immediately disapproved of your choice of FUHU for dinner! Your very lovely lady would have insisted that you change your dinner reservation to Breeza because she loves fine Italian cuisine! You very lovely lady would have strenuously objected to you going to see the Katy Perry Show! Your very lovely lady would have immediately taken claim of your overnight suite at Resorts World and would have insisted that you update that overnight reservation to a three night stay! She would insist that you take her two cute little pups back to your guest room at the New York-New York Hotel & Casino -- so that she could better enjoy her leisure days suntanning at the Resorts World Luxury Cabana Pools!
But at least you wouldn't have to worry about finding a good dance partner tonight at the Dawg House Saloon! 😏 Your very lovely lady likes Country & Western nightclub dancing as much as you do!
I would LOVE for my little boy to never grow up, but if he HAS to - I hope he grows into a sweet young man like his father.
I made my little Peter Pan a costume, complete with boot covers and a feathered cap!

I think I mentioned that it was colder in L.A. that day than it was in Chicago. What these people were thinking, I just don't know. Still, this has to have the best view of any swimming pool I've ever seen.

LAFD Resources responded to a 1 story commercial fire. The building was home to the Basque Restaurant & Night club which suffered severe fire damage. 180 Firefighters took 2 hours, 27 minutes to knock down the fire.© Photos by Scott LaRue.
I think we originally planned to go back to the Oktoberfest but it was a very blustery day in Munich so we decided to check out the Residenz Museum instead. It's not really a museum, it's more of a huge palace belonging to a major ruling family. I think the complex was completed in the mid-1500s and it lasted until 1944 when Allied bombers destroyed most of it. After the war, the building was rebuilt as close to the original as possible. The building itself is very ornate; there is so much to see. I think 90 rooms are open for visiting. I don't know if we hit all of them but Heather and I spent about 5 hours here. After sharing some bratwurst, Heather had a burst of energy and went drindl shopping and I did some people watching near the New City Hall. Very nice day out!

What an unexpected bonus awaited us in Freeport! Because of construction at Cococay, our cruise itinerary was modified and that private island was replaced with Freeport on Grand Bahama Island. I think that people were generally fine, though a few were more vocal in their complaining. The captain during the session with guests and other crew leaders made a good point. We were a longer cruise and a shorter one that only went to Cococay and Nassau could not be well served with changing their itinerary. So we got to go to Freeport Harbour. I knew there was going to be one ship in port with us, but as we approached, I noticed more cruise ships? Normally the sites do not get it that wrong. But they I realized that these were ships in dry dock, something I had never ever seen before. The ships in dry dock are the Royal Caribbean's Navigator of the Seas and Empress of the Seas, the Celebrity Summit and the Carnival Freedom. Also there was the GNV-Rhapsody, a car ferry from Italy. These were being serviced at the Grand Bahama Shipyard. For the record, I would have loved if they did a brief harbor tour so you could get closer. Have to figure I am not the only ship-geek who would enjoy that. I will have to suggest that for the next time I am in Freeport! Taken from onboard the Grandeur of the Seas and on terra firma at Freeport, Grand Bahama Island on Monday February 18th, 2019. These were from our Royal Caribbean Grandeur of the Seas for a 9 Night Southeast Coast & Bahamas Cruise (February 14th through the 23rd, 2019). The itinerary include stops in Charleston (SC), Port Canaveral (FL), Freeport (Grand Bahama Island), Nassau (Bahamas) and Miami (FL) before heading back to Baltimore.

Thursday 13 April 2017: Dhorpatan (2864 m) - Pass 1 (3176 m) - Chetung - Kolabesi - Takur La / Phalgune Dhuri / Fagune Lekh (4044 m) - Takur / Taktor / Thankur (3220 m)
Our “HOLY MACKEREL!” Double Pass Day started at 6.40am with bed tea and coffee, muesli and fried egg toasties as a breakfast treat.
I think we were all delighted to depart Dhorpatan. We followed the “road” for a while before turning right onto a footpath that took us up through farms and stone-walled fields back into the rhododendron zone, eventually bringing us to the first pass.
Turning our backs on the Uttar Ganga river valley, we headed downhill through the farmsteads at Chetung and Kolabesi, then up, up, up to the Takur La / Phalgune Dhuri / Fagune Lekh. Huge, huge rhododendron trees gave way to smaller shrubs as we climbed. We passed porters returning ahead of an American party shooting blue sheep in the Dhorpatan Hunting Reserve, and it turned out the Nima and Val knew some of them. A false pass took us out of sight of Pass 1, and closer to the Phalgune Khola as we left the tree line behind us. A breather at an abandoned stone hut, then the final push up through the ever-narrowing valley, emerging at the stone cairns that marks the pass around 12.30pm.
Fab views of Putha Hiunchuli (Dhaulagiri VII, 7246 m) and Churen Himal (7385 m) and time for lots of photos and snacks from our picnic lunch before setting off downhill under ominous grey clouds, with Nima at the helm while Val waited for Chhiring and our full crew to make it across the pass.
Not such a good afternoon - we weren’t really sure how far we should go, and the clouds delivered first rain, then “polystyrene” balls of snow/hail, then thunder and lightening. At least there was only one path to follow, and we weren’t in trouble when Val did catch up with us. Frustrating though.
Down through forests of prickly oak and bark-shedding birch, emerging at 3.50pm at the farmstead at Takur, set in meadows on the banks of the wide gravelly river of the same name.
All hands on deck to help once the porters started to arrive, setting up tents just as rain threatened to resume. Soup and masala tea revived us and kept the wolf from the door until dal bhat dinner in the mess tent at 7pm. Bed around 8pm after a long day.
