This aircraft was acquired by The Fighter Collection in 1993 and shipped to Duxford in April of the same year. This aircraft wears the colours of a Fleet Air Arm Wildcat on board HMS Tracker in 1944

The fishermen I spoke to were certain that they were about to make the catch of the day. Apparently Penmon Point is one of the best fishing spots in the UK.

The interesting thing about photography and photographers is that everyone finds different things interesting. As a result many of us choose different subjects for our pictures.
I cannot even tell why I find this scene interesting to me!
Happy weekend!

Death is not the last station...
This is a Christmas ornament I picked up. I'm not sure what animal it's supposed to be--maybe a cat or a fox. It measures 2.75-inches tall.
Strobis/technical info:
The subject was placed on a piece of reflective black acrylic with a black fabric cloth as background. Two Nikon SB900's and one SB700 speedlights were used for illumination. The two SB900's were placed 90-degrees CL and CR, 2' away and 1' above the subject and were aimed down at 45-degrees. They were fired through 24" x 24" Neewer softboxes in Manual mode @ 1⁄2 power. The SB700 was placed 170-degrees CL, 6" above and 14" away from the subject. It had a snoot attached and was fired in Manual mode @ 1⁄16 power.
The SB900's were triggered by three PocketWizard Plus X's; the SB700 was placed in SU-4 mode and was triggered by the other flashes.

Y caperucita llegó a su casina y se puso a sacar, con su guitarra, una dulce melodía, esto hizo que se estremeciera recordando aquellos momentos íntimos con el lobo vacilón, al que ahora echaba de menos un montón...
Its a thing i made, i haven't really decided what to call it.... could be a engine for a pod racer or a giant stargate
Corn stalks and EMDs are all thats left in the fields after this year's harvest. D32 is seen just north of Lotus making its way north to Gibson City.
There is no such thing as an ugly accent, like there's no such thing as an ugly flower.

Found this wild beauty in the shade, by the creek side. For some reason, to me, the flower just looked like a group of tiny ballet dancers performing on stage! 😁
And, of course, hope some of you still remember this oldie which has been one of my favorites from way back when. 😆
Have a beautiful day, everyone...
Modern(ist) sculpture by NYC-based artist Joel Perlman, at the foot of the Scalpel tower (shown recently in my photostream). Titled 'Roundhouse' here, It is nearly identical to an earlier one by the author, called 'Rolling on the River' in the US. The main difference is the colour (rusty brown in Illinois vs the stainless finish here). It's most probably ok in the high art world to sell the same piece twice (or more times, if you can) by changing colour and name...
Originality apart, this works well amidst modern buildings and opposite the similarly stainless 'Inside Out' industrial-style building of Lloyd's.
As title.
A few mins ago this morning.
Off work today. Been up ages should really be doing something productive.

This is a dried clematis flower on the trellis which has 1 inch square openings.
Whirly Funfair Thing, Edinburgh, Scotland... longer exposure and a litter bin... I like the strange looking images of the people on the ride.
Again, all the backgrounds of these photos were changed. I used backdrops from the Arches Park area. It was a bit more dramatic than where the oribinal shots were taken.
For 52 Weeks for Dogs -- 24/52
It's been wickedly and dangerously hot here this week, and going upstairs seemed like a bad idea. So, Flattery is just being a pretty little thing downstairs on the couch this week, and I don't think she minds!
You can read more about Flattery at TalesAndTails.com.
I gotta say, this thing is a real beaut'. It has all the features of a wraith, including an opening plasma mortar, and posable wings. However, I was not able to include a cockpit :( This also marks the first time I included lights in a MOC, located in the forward and back wings, and on the back.
Thing Of Beauty
Hothouse Flowers
Look out your window on a winter's morning
Your breath is steam and there's frost falling
And the sun casts a spell upon the road
A thing of beauty is not a thing to ignore
Great song of beauty
Stand by the river on a moonlight evening
Lovers are loving and grievers are grieving
And the water does a dance upon the stones
I sit and listen, I will not ignore
A thing of beauty is not to be ignored
Can't you see (can't you see)
The secrets of the dawn? (thing of beauty)
Can't you feel (can't you feel)
Can't you feel it in the place that you come from? (thing of beauty)
Face up to morning
Face up to day
Face up to reality
And face up to your ways
Second image from our trip to Wentworth Falls in the Blue Mountains last Saturday.
This was shot using my 70-200 lens, as I wanted to compress the scene.
A beautiful tree lined street, with hardly a car in sight.
Hope you like "Thing Of Beauty"
