Buff Breasted Sandpiper - Calidris subruficollis
A delicate dove-headed shorebird, the Buff-breasted Sandpiper is found primarily in migration in areas of short grass. It migrates primarily through the middle of the American continent from its arctic breeding grounds to southern South America.
The Buff-breasted Sandpiper is unique among North American shorebirds in having a lek mating system. Males defend relatively small territories that provide no resources for females and are simply display sites to which females can be attracted. Females select a mate and then leave to nest and raise their chicks elsewhere.
It migrates mainly through central North America, and is uncommon on the coasts. It occurs as a regular wanderer to western Europe, and is not classed as rare in Great Britain or Ireland, where small flocks have occurred. Only the pectoral sandpiper is a more common American shorebird visitor to Europe.
This species nests as far north as Canada including Alaska on the ground, laying four eggs. The male has a display which includes raising the wings to display the white undersides, which is also given on migration, sometimes when no other buff-breasted sandpipers are present. Outside the breeding season, this bird is normally found on short-grass habitats such as airfields or golf-courses, rather than near water.

I live in a densely populated row-house neighborhood in NW Washington DC. I was very surprised to see this Cooper's Hawk perched in the alley behind my house. It looked around for a couple minutes then moved on. I took this shot from my back door.

El lunes recuperaré mi cámara y dejaré de subir fotos viejas xD e intentare sacar mas tiempo para comentaros las galerias que estoy de un rancio últimamente que no puede ser!!!
Well the first quarter of the year of the 365 is behind us and we are now entering the second quarter.
The water on the creek is now starting to open up more. This body of water will eventually lead into the Mississippi River coming out at Carleton Place Ontario and then eventually flows into the Ottawa River.
I appreciate each and every visit, comment and fave here on my little corner of the world as seen through my lens.
Every now and then I have a look through my old and or unpublished shots and find something I hadn't noticed or thought I could edit better. This is one such
Porlock Weir harbour, Somerset UK.
This was my last shoot with my Nikon D7500, a great APS-C DSLR. Caroline and I traveled to Cheltenham from Porlock later that day to collect my D850 and then down to Plymouth, all during a fuel delivery drivers strike with severe fuel shortages, it was touch and go there!
Sometimes, she sat in the sunshine
in hope it'll make her fine.
Waiting there, she crosses the line,
and to away the sorrow, mixes the wine
in hope it takes the night or bring the sunshine.
Sometimes, she stood in the divine,
dissolved, prays for mercy or the sublime,
But ignored, she from the psalms, resign.
She goes to the shoreline,
and there, continues her decline.
She sees, of all and the shores, a confine,
She takes the sand, smooth and fine,
then walked into this sea of brine,
and in the bosom of the sea, lies a sublime,
one whose face holds, rays of sunshine.
Tonight's sunset, recapped in case you missed it!

Have a great Thursday Y'all..:)
Jace's first pair of shoes, so teeny tiny, always hang in my rearview mirror. It's a gentle reminder that there is precious cargo on board, and of course, I love to flaunt my mommyhood :)
Happy start of a new week, everyone! :)
Meet our neighbour, Bob the Bull, seen resting in his winter quarters immediately behind our farm cottage. Bob was born nine years ago, but was conceived at the wrong time and wasn't ready to go to market with the rest of them. David, the farmer, became fond of him and ended up keeping him. Bob loves nothing more than a fresh cabbage, and so we occasionally buy him one as a treat. He'll turn his head on one side so he can get it partly through the steel bars and put his tongue out so he can be fed. In a couple of weeks it'll be time for him to return to his pasture, and we won't then see him again until next winter.
CATCHING TWO.

(Verse 1)
[KATE MCKINNON]
The snow's falling down
It’s Christmastime again
A woman has to get a gift
For some girl at work named Jen
[EMMA STONE]
She doesn't know what Jen likes
And she doesn't super care
So she goes inside a closet
Just to see what crap’s in there
[AIDY BRYANT]
In darkness, there's a light
Then suddenly she sees the Christmas savior's here tonight
(Chorus 1)
[ALL]
It's a candle
A plain peach candle
It's been sitting by a bike pump for a year
She takes the candle
Dusts off the candle
Then wraps it up for Jen and just says, "Here."
(Verse 2)
[EMMA STONE]
Then one day after this
In foggy London town
[AIDY BRYANT]
Two acquaintances are having tea
When one puts a present down
[KATE MCKINNON]
The other says, "Wait, what?
"I mean, I got you something, too."
Then she rummages inside her purse
For some garbage that will do
A hand, it settles on
[AIDY BRYANT]
Something that she just had gotten from her boyfriend's mom
(Chorus 2)
[ALL]
It's the candle
That same peach candle
Regifted 'round the world in just one day
Oh thank you, candle
The one true candle
The candle we all get, then give away
(Bridge)
[AIDY BRYANT]
But here’s a warning:
When you give a candle, that is all that you need
Don’t pair it with a lotion or some lame little cream
A lot of people think two gifts are better than one
But that just makes each gift seem smaller and dumb
(Chorus 3)
[ALL]
So just give the candle
Don't overthink the candle
It’s passed to every single woman and most guys
We all get the candle
We all give the candle
That nine-dollar candle
That almost rude candle
We're joined by the candle
It's the gift of having a gift to give away
The gift of having a gift to give away
Thank you, candle
Yard Bird #101!! This is a big deal! I was looking at the feeder this morning before a meeting just as it started to snow. A moment later I saw a little sparrow hoping around with a dark spot on its chest and lots of shades of rust brown...TREE SPARROW!!! I really like how these little birds look but they hardly ever allow me good photo opportunities. They are typically very flighty. This one however, didnt seem to be too bothered by me at all. I took a few shots just as proof it was here then it was time to make something good of it. Laying on my belly on the concrete floor of the basement felt....cold....but it allowed yet again for this super low angle. It kept getting closer and closer to the edge of the patio and I just kept shooting. This is one shot of many that are coming of it.

Lucky to get in Moraine Lake in the early morning once in the whole trip. Staying close to the edge of the lake for over two hours at 0C, watching the beautiful Moraine Lake was looming in the mist from the blue hour to red with sunrise light, then golden hour… Five photos were stacked together taken during golden hour. There was gentle breeze when I took these set of photos, not perfect reflection. 😉

If we were immortal, could we make it till 3005? We already wanted 1000 years, then we wanted 2000 years. 3000 years, and a little more, might be possible. The 3rd. ❤
This beauty came running down this path at Holkham Woods. It stopped then carried on towards us, it was wonderful
WARNING WARNING WARNING, THIS MAY INCLUDE SPOILERS FROM HALF LIFE AND PORTAL
I was searching for pictures of glados and then I found a couple intresting articles about glados...
Here is a article that got me thinking.
The human imagination is a real magnificent and powerful thing. Like for instance, when I look at a cloud, I sometimes see kittens and bunnies. This writer over on game-ism is the same way. Except, instead of clouds and kittens, he sees GlaDOS as a woman hanging upside down and bound up. This take on GlaDOS is really interesting, and slightly erotic. Game-ism believes that GlaDOS wants to be killed by Chell, the main character of Portal. GlaDOS feels trapped at Aperture Science and she wants Chell to set her free.
It's a very interesting take on the Portal story. Game-ism also has another article breaking down "Still Alive", the ending theme to Portal. It seems like some serious over analyzing, but it helps you look at the game in a totally different way. This new look of GlaDOS is also totally going to bring up some more crazy Rule 34 stuff, some of which still haunt me.
It's a really great read that puts a fresh spin on the story of the game. What do you think of it?
And here is article I found about the credit song:
Thanks to the great comments in my last post where I waxed all philo about what I think GlaDOS is supposed to look like, I think I’ve changed my tune on why GlaDOS wanted to be free. While I still think she wanted to be free, the only way she could truly be free was to die. She can’t just walk amongst the people of suburbia. She’s an Artificial Intelligence. She can’t just go out in public and “blend in.” A life of enslavement serving man, she craved for it to be over, and I think if I overanalyze the lyrics of “Still Alive,” we can see (or at least convince ourselves of) some evidence of this.
Thanks to the amazing John Coulton, Ellen McLain, and the Portal folks for making me go crazy trying to get inside of GlaDOS’s head. Apologies to everyone for attempting to find something that might not have really been there. I’d love to hear from Coulton or the Portal writers on this, to see if this was his intent, or if I’ve just gone completely over the deep end here.
At any rate, on to the lyrical analysis:
This was a triumph
I’m making a note here: ====HUGE SUCCESS====
It’s hard to overstate my satisfaction
First, GlaDOS rarely ever tells the truth. In fact, she is a veritable bottomless pit of sarcasm. If anything, she is being completely sarcastic with these opening lines. It wasn’t a triumph, it was an unmitigated disaster of epic proportions. If the point was to kill Chell or even get good experiment test data, obviously that was a failure (not a triumph), and if her goal was to get Chell to kill GlaDOS, that mission was also a failure, because as the song indicates, she’s Still Alive.
Aperture Science
We do what we must because we can
The Aperture Science mantra. It’s interesting that it is rooted in servitude (do what we must). At first I thought it was “duty” that she spoke of, but now I wonder if she isn’t referring to servitude in her use of the mantra here. Reworded the mantra can mean “We do what we have to because we are capable of doing so.” It’s hardly inspirational as far as mission statements or mantras go.
For the good of all of us
Except the ones who are dead
Referencing the people she killed to be alone with Chell in the Aperture Science Labratories.
But there’s no sense crying over every mistake
You just keep on trying till you run out of cake
I think she’s referring to her own failure to kill herself here. She will simply try again later. Also, as the cake is a lie, the line now means “you just keep on trying,” possibly referencing her constant mechanical slavery with no reward for her work.
And the science gets done and you make a neat gun
For the people who are still alive
It’s interesting that the last line isn’t “for the people who are alive.” It’s for the people who are still alive, implying that they should be dead, or will soon be dead, just as she should be. Not only is it the title of the song and the main chorus hook, it is interesting that it wasn’t titled “I’m Alive” or just “Alive.” It’s “Still Alive,” which implies so much using so little. “Damnit, I’m still alive!” Granted, it could mean “Holy crap, I’m still alive!” as well, but her tone throughout seems bitter and remorseful more than it is upbeat, at least to me.
I’m not even angry
I’m being so sincere right now
More bitter bitter sarcasm from the queen of lies.
Even though you broke my heart and killed me
Exhibit A: “you…killed me.” She died. She says it herself right here in this line. I think the reason she’s “Still Alive” is because a backup of her in another location kicked in once Chell destroyed her, and we are hearing the backup version’s sadness at finding itself “still alive.”
And tore me to pieces
And threw every piece into a fire
More of her bitter wit overemphasizing the point that she was in fact killed.
As they burned it hurt because
I was so happy for you
Was she happy for Chell because she succeeded initially in GlaDOS’s suicide mission? Or is she just using more sarcasm here? Is Chell dead? It’s interesting to note that the final camera PoV for the player (and therefore Chell) at the end of the game seems to be similar to the camera anytime the player dies while playing Portal, and that is one of being face down on the floor. GlaDOS could be happy for the player because of the possibility that player is dead at the end of the game. Is she jealous of Chell’s death perhaps?
Now these points of data make a beautiful line
And we’re out of beta, we’re releasing on time
This is probably just a great rhyme about Portal releasing relatively on time compared to Half Life 2’s horribly delayed launch.
So I’m glad I got burned, think of all the things we learned
For the people who are still alive
More sarcasm (she’s not glad she got burned), and more regret that she’s still alive to continue in her forced servitude of man (the people who are still alive).
Go ahead and leave me
I think I’d prefer to stay inside
And the sarcasm train continues! The passive aggressive nature of this line is just staggering and so manipulative. She obviously would love to leave her prison, either via death or being free otherwise.
Maybe you’ll find someone else to help you
Maybe Black Mesa
That was a joke, ha ha, fat chance
Since she nearly always says the opposite of what she intends, it is possible that this is an admission that she was helping Chell either escape or helping Chell to get in position to kill GlaDOS. I don’t think she’s joking about Black Mesa. Remember, she’s nearly always lying. I think she’s hinting at where she’s gone or been re-installed (and where we will find her in Half Life 3).
Anyway this cake is great
It’s so delicious and moist
It’s a lie. An obvious enticement to make Chell (or us) envious and an attempt to make GlaDOS’s own horrible existence seem endurable. It’s a classic “Huck Finn” attempt to make her situation seem like a positive one. I’m pretty sure the promise of cake is GlaDOS’s way of enticing herself to continue with her tasks since she cannot forcibly shut herself down.
Look at me still talking when there’s science to do
If she’s got science to do, then she’s back in another prison construct somewhere being forced to do more science.
When I look out there it makes me glad I’m not you
More bitter sarcasm. GlaDOS obviously wishes she was Chell (or the player) enjoying the freedom to do as they please (or the freedom to die).
I’ve experiments to run, there is research to be done
On the people who are still alive
Another exhaustive reference to her servitude to the people who have her enslaved.
And believe me I am still alive
Assurance that the mission to kill her has failed.
I’m doing science and I’m still alive
Yet another reference to her enslaved state.
I feel fantastic and I’m still alive
She’s not feeling fantastic (she’s a lying bowl of sarcasm, remember?). She’s depressed that she’s still alive.
And while you’re dying I’ll be still alive
And when you’re dead I will be still alive
This is almost always read as a threat that she will attempt to kill Chell (or the player) again, but upon deeper reflection I think it’s remorse. She’s come to realize that no matter what she does, she will always be re-installed from a backup somewhere else, and is envious that biologicals can die and she can’t. Listen to her tone of voice here.
Still alive
Still alive
As this chorus refrain ends, I’m left with the distinct impression that she is sad that she is still alive. It doesn’t end on a high note. She is decidedly not exhilarated. If she was excited at being “still alive” she should be shouting it from the rooftops, as much as GlaDOS is capable of shouting. It is completely downbeat and quiet. If it were a music video the camera would be pulling out on her hanging alone in a completely blank white room, pulling out further and further every time she says “still alive” giving the impression that she is alone and miserable in her solitary existence.
I don’t know if I’m right or not, but I’ve at least convinced myself that she did want to die at the end of Portal, and this song is her swan song reversal about how sad she is that she’s not dead.
What do you think? I’d love to hear from Coulton or the Valve folks, but I have a feeling they’ll never tell. Is GlaDOS’s obsession with death and murder because she is a psychotic killer AI? Or is she obsessing over that which she can never have?
I imagine it doesn’t matter either way; she’s still one of the most interesting villains of all time.
This isn’t brave. It’s murder.
The only thing you’ve managed to break so far…is my heart.
That actally make sense...
I always had the plan to post more shots of the wonderful Iskanderkul in Tajikistan, but it is already three years ago that I finished my trip through central Asia, and how the world has changed since then.
Beside this shot www.flickr.com/photos/115540984@N02/49221949713/in/photol..., that I posted a long time ago, there were many more.
This image was taken when we left early next morning. The scenery was gorgeous thanks to the light and the haze, and the lake got a wonderful turquoise color.
Iskanderkul is situated in the northwest of Tajikistan, in the Fann-mountains. I am not sure if it was named after Alexander the great, the stories are somewhat vague on this matter, but what is sure is that the dacha of the Tajik president is situated at the east end of the lake.
We spent two days at this lake, and although this scenery is fantastic it took me a lot of pictures to capture its grandness. Not only the lake but the surrounding mountains are so stunning you don't know where to look all the time. Enjoy!
20 September 2019 I came back from my journey over a part of the Silk Road to and through Central Asia. 4 months of traveling through 14 countries (Germany, Austria, Hungary, Romania, Turkey, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kirgizstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Iran) before I flew home from Teheran. An impressive journey in countries that are extremely beautiful, with lovely and welcoming people and diverse cultures and history.
Intense traveling with more than 20000 kilometers in our mobile home on sometimes roads that hardly could be called that way. We saw many villages and cities (some wonderful, others very ugly), countries that are transforming from the old Soviet era into something more related to older cultures and the way people live, often funded by oil readily available around the Caspian sea. We saw the amazing mountains south of the Black Sea, the wonderful Caucasus, and the high mountains in the far east close to China with peaks over 7000 meter, and not to forget the (Bulgarian) Alps!
We crossed the great steppe of Kazakhstan. a drive of at least 5000 km, the remnants of lake Aral, once one of the biggest lakes of the world, saw a rocket launch from Baikonur (this little part is Russian owned), we crossed many high mountains passes, and drove the breathtaking canyon that comes from the Pamir, beginning at ca 4500 meter, and going down for ca. 400km to an altitude of 1300 meter, driving for 100's of kilometers along the Afghan border.
And then the numerous lakes with all sorts of different colors from deep cobalt blue to turquoise, and one rare spectacle in Turkmenistan where a gas crater is burning already for more than 40 years. And finally and certainly not the least to mention an enormous amount of wonderful, hospitable and welcoming people. The woman often dressed in wonderful dresses, and bringing a lot of color in the streets of almost of all countries we visited.
Namtso is one of the three holy lakes in Tibet and significant for Tibetan Buddhists. Kora is a Tibetan word that means "circumambulation" or "revolution". Kora is both a type of pilgrimage and a type of meditative practice in the Tibetan Buddhism. Thus, Namtso Kora means pilgrimage walk around the Lake Namtso.
Namtso literally means heavenly lake in Tibetan language. Located around 240km northwest of Lhasa, capital of Tibet, it takes four hours’ driving from Lhasa. Extending 70 km from east to west and 30 km from south to north, the lake covers an area of 1,920 sq km and has an altitude of 4748 m above sea level. It is biggest lake in Tibet and the second biggest salt lake in China as well as one of the highest lakes in the world. The water in the lake is crystally clear and blue. The blue sky joins the surface of the lake in the distance, creating an integrated, scenic vista.
In every Tibetan year of sheep, thousands of Tibetan Buddhism believers will come here to worship this sacred lake. As a rule, they will walk clockwise along the Namtso Lake in order to receive the blessing of the gods.
There are several fine Tibet treks around the lake. The shortest one is roughly 4 kilometers and takes less than one hour. It starts from the accommodation area to a hermit’s cave hidden behind a large spinter of rock. The kora continues to a rocky promontory of cairns and prayer flags. At the promontory, pilgrims undertake a ritural washing in the lake. And then the trail continues past several caves and a prostration point where there are two rock towers looking like two hands. Pilgrims squeeze into the deep slices of the nearby cliff face as a means of sin detection or drink water dripping from cave roofs, even swallow holy dirt.
I saw a 1cm-long black fly land on a leaf and thought "That won't male much of a photo". Then I remembered that you can discover all sorts of wonderful colours you can't see with the naked eye when you look through a macro lens. Wow, it's not "just" a black fly! I've no idea what species it is but I definitely didn't see all those colours through my own eyes. Cropped from 3:2 ratio to 4:3 maintaining the height of the original photo. Taken using the pop-up flash - a rare event for me - set to 1/32 power, with diffuser, on account of the thick overhead cloud.
STOP PRESS: I've just ID-d this as an Orange-bearded bluebottle; what a name!
.
Been away a bit.
Baffled how it happened but the Monday after Christmas began coughing. Started as a tickle. Then turned croup like. Was able to get to urgent care that Thursday and a rapid test was positive for covid.
Because of my recent cancers I qualified for the myoclonal antibody treatment. Felt remarkably better for a bit.
But this sure has been a roller coaster.
I feel so bad for the unvaccinated. If I've been this awful after three Pfizers, I can't imagine surviving without having been vaxxed.
I had been given Prednisone for the croup/bronchial inflammation which I didn't start taking until I lost the sense of smell. Surprisingly the sense came back after two days.
A week after I showed symptoms, Kim showed, but hers were very different. She had severe nausea and headache. She hasn't had the respiratory involvement, but her test this past week was also positive. She's on the recovery roller coaster too.
Sometimes we feel some better, then it all hits again.
Been using our large gym ball to lie over. Way back at the beginning of the pandemic a bunch of us who had been Physical Therapists had talked about the importance of lying prone and the importance of postural drainage, which we used to do for patients in the hospital before Respiratory Therapy took it over.
Lying on one's chest on the ball supports the diaphragm and makes coughing more comfortable. Pushing forward to get the head low and butt high will help get secretions moving and excreted. Plus rolling on the ball is very good for the back.
I suppose my involvement here at Flickr will be a bit spotty for awhile yet. Hope everyone stays well.
This has been baffling. We've been masked whenever we've left the house. Kim goes to work but since she showed symptoms after me, I'm the likely one to have given it to her. In the week before showing symptoms I'd been once to the grocery store. And I've always double masked. I've always brought along my alcohol spray bottle to spray down the shopping carts.
One thing we haven't kept up is the wiping down of the grocery items before bringing them into the house. And we haven't been wiping down the Amazon packages that get delivered. But that method of transference has always been very low on the list. Being unmasked in a closed space has always been the chief method of transmission.
Go figure.
----------------------------- JESUS ✝️ SAVES-------------------------------
SALVATION THROUGH FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST - ALONE!
12 Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved."
❤️❤️ IT'S ALL JESUS AND NONE OF OURSELVES! ❤️❤️
16 I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the SALVATION of everyone WHO BELIEVES: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile. 17 For in the gospel a RIGHTEOUSNESS FROM GOD IS REVEALED, a righteousness that is by FAITH FROM FIRST TO LAST, just as it is written: "THE RIGHTEOUS WILL LIVE BY FAITH." (Romans 1:16-17)
16 KNOW that a man is NOT justified by observing the law, but by FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST. So we, too, have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be JUSTIFIED BY FAITH in CHRIST and NOT by observing the law, BECAUSE BY OBSERVING THE LAW NO ONE WILL BE JUSTIFIED. (Galatians 2:16)
1. Now, brothers, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. 2. BY THIS GOSPEL YOU ARE SAVED, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain.
3. For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4. that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, 5. and that he appeared to Peter, and then to the Twelve. 6. After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers at the same time, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep. 7. Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles, 8. and last of all he appeared to me also, as to one abnormally born.
9. For I am the least of the apostles and do not even deserve to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. 10. But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them--yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me. 11. Whether, then, it was I or they, this is what we preach, and this is what you believed. (1 Corinthians 15:1-11)
7. Therefore Jesus said again, "I tell you the truth, I am the gate for the sheep. 8. All who ever came before me were thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them. 9. I am the gate; whoever enters through me WILL BE SAVED. He will come in and go out, and find pasture. 10. The thief comes only to STEAL and KILL and DESTROY; I have come that they may have LIFE, and have it to the FULL. (John 10:7-10)
1 Brothers, my heart's desire and prayer to God for the Israelites is that they may be saved. 2 For I can testify about them that they are zealous for God, but their zeal is not based on knowledge. 3 Since they did not know the righteousness that comes from God and sought to establish their own, they did not submit to God's righteousness. 4 Christ is the end of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes.
5 Moses describes in this way the righteousness that is by the law: "The man who does these things will live by them." 6 But the righteousness that is by faith says: "Do not say in your heart, 'Who will ascend into heaven?'" (that is, to bring Christ down) 7 "or 'Who will descend into the deep?'" (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead). 8 But what does it say? "The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart," that is, the word of faith we are proclaiming: 9 That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. 11 As the Scripture says, "Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame." 12 For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile--the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, 13 for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." (Romans 10:1-13)
Jesus came to bring spiritual LIFE to the spiritually dead and set the captives FREE! FREE from RELIGION, ERROR and outright LIES, so WE might serve THE LIVING GOD! In SPIRIT and in TRUTH!
So you'll KNOW, and not think you're to bad for God to love. The Christian LIFE isn't about how good WE are, because NONE of us are! It's about how GOOD JESUS IS! Because JESUS LOVES US, so much he died in our place and took the punishment for all of our sins on himself. The wages of sin is DEATH, and Jesus took the death WE so richly deserved for us and died in our place. The good news is, there's no more punishment for sin left. WE, you and I were all born forgive as a result of the crucifixion of God himself on the cross that took away the sins of the whole world. All we have to do is believe it, and put your Faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ. That my friends is REAL UNCONDITIONAL LOVE! YOU ARE LOVED. ❤️ ✝️ ❤️

Macro 1X (focus stacking)
Fondos MNCN-CSIC
Macro 1X con apilamiento de foco por control de anillo de enfoque
Macro 1X by focus stacking using the focus ring control
Ingredientes:
-Nikon D600 + Nikor 105mm macro 1X

after a long hike under the sun there is nothing more refreshing than standing in cold mountain water.
A heavy landslide 3500 years ago formed this area and since then the “ramsauer ache” finds its way through the rocks.

Et la lumière fut - The unexpected and incredible outcome of another memorable dawn spent on the shore of Loch Awe a couple of autumns ago.
Having arrived lochside some 20 minutes before dawn, conditions looked far from inspiring to say the least. Light was dull, grey and dismal and the breeze that was gently but persistently blowing wrecked any hope of reflections off the water. I was inclined to give up and head back for an early hearty breakfast. Luckily for me I didn't; persisting in the faint hope that a miracle might happen.
And then there was light.
Well the miracle did happen for a brief few minutes not long after sunrise. The most intense light of dawn broke through the clouds, perfectly striking the beautiful ruins of Kilchurn Castle just as the surface of the loch turned still enough to yield some excellent reflections of the castle. It all came together long enough for me to capture this memorable and remarkable sight.
A wonderful and inspiring sight at any time, especially so when conditions are as unique and superb as this.
