This is the second part of two shot on a Sunday afternoon in rather threatening weather conditions that quickly turned to fine drizzle, then real rain.

Olympus Pen E-P5 with an early 1950s C mount movie camera lens, the Kern Switar 25mm f/1.5 (approx 50mm equivalent on MFT). I was curious to see what it would make of the nature scenes and the conditions.

I still think it's one of the nicest lenses I have. But scarcely usable on APS-C (strong vignetting) and not at all on full frame.

Blessings of the season to all during these difficult times

In November 2007 I was working as a DJ at Club Jenna Islands. I was about 9 months old when the first photo was taken. I no longer work as a DJ and the Club Jenna Islands don't exist anymore. But I can still play pretend for a photo.

We then relocated to track level via the grade crossing seen at the rear of the train on the previous photo. Another of the long, and frequent, grain trains was next up in our viewfinders.

Then sun, then high winds and snow. It ended with a nice sunset. More snow overnight.

The flowers on this hand painted brass button are at least 110 years old. The Yarrow, on the other hand, came from my garden today. :)

9 months ago today we took our first picture together; one that was meant to just be a cuddle buddy collab. I had no idea just how much you would mean to me since that first picture. But here we are 9 months later still taking pictures, being in love, married on sl with a daughter, have met twice in person and will be a third time soon where you’ll meet my rl daughter. If I knew 9 months ago you would make me fall in love with you I would’ve ran to Egypt! Just kidding From the moment we first started talking on calls daily, I quickly knew you were becoming someone very important and special in my life. We still have our little issues sometimes and call each other a butthead, but you’re my butthead! And there’s no one else I could imagine sharing the rest of my life with 💙💚I love you hubby and appreciate the little things you do, including making sure we still take plenty of pictures 😘 (top pic is us now and bottom is the same picture 9 months ago)

Dartmoor hill ponies passing by on Combeshead Tor. I was out for a walk on a very hot summer day. I'd stopped here for a rest when the ponies arrived. They stayed for a few minutes and then moved off.

I recently acquired a few magic lantern slides of Grange-over-Sands from c1900. Here is the Main Street then and as it is now from the same spot.

This is an image of an around 50% illuminated phase of our closest planetary neighbour Venus.

I managed to get my planetary scope out back in June to image this beautiful object, shining brilliantly in our evening skies then. This represents the last time I have done any planetary imaging due to circumstances.

The data has been on my drive since and I'm only getting around to have a look at it now.

Venus is one of the so-called inferior planets, as it orbits the sun inside our orbit.

This means that Venus orbits the sun faster than earth and from our perspective is sometimes closer to us and at other times is on the far side of the sun. This change in relative position means we see phases for Venus (and Mercury).

Unfortunately when it approaches earth and is at its largest apparent size its phase also decreases!

This is a false coloured UV/IR filter image to reveal some cloud structure in the thick atmosphere of Venus. Data from the IR filter is mapped to the red channel and that from the UV is mapped to blue. A synthetic green channel is produced from a blend of both. Some lovely cloud structure is apparent.

CSX L810 is southbound on the Cartersville Subdivision at Rockmart, Georgia, as NS 936 passes overhead on the Atlanta North District in December 2023. CSXT GP40-2 6394 is now known for its distinguished 1980's RF&P front end. 6394 was built as RF&P 142 in September 1972.

CATCHING TWO.

This is from a few weeks ago and since then he hardly comes to the pond since he's eaten most of the big fish. Wailea Maui . He went to shore and ate both of them.

Then a second one came running across the road to join in. I took the shot through the windshield. Peace Valley Park, Doylestown Pa.

G-BKMN British Aerospace BAe 146-100 Caribjet. Ex Dan-Air. Went to Malmö Aviation as SE-DRH, then Cityjet as EI-COF and then finally to Formula One Management, G-OFOA, as a VIP plane - stored since 2017 (slide scan from my collection - not taken by myself).

It is images of the sand dunes and the interplay of light and shadow that inspired my trip to Namibia. All of my expectations were met and then exceeded.

Walking past late at night I found Scotty was asleep and not beaming anyone up. Then I remembered he died back in 2005, and when I checked he was Canadian not Scottish and his parents came from Ireland. Did this mean all those Starship adventures were just made up? In the Newspaper this week was an article that a US president was going to win the greatest Noble Peace prize ever because he was going to defuse the war he was trying to provoke. Makes me wonder about reality! I just went to sleep in my airBNB and wondered if I should have been hawking this as about blackholes. Sorry, that's a too soon as my kids tell me.
