February Alphabet Fun month 2022 Edition
Today's picture is brought to you by the letter F. It also works in French: Flash fuit le fermier furieux avec un fruit.
Thanks to my friend Cbast (www.flickr.com/photos/cbast_lego/) for making the sentence even better.
Got inspired to do this due to the amazing new trailers of Season 4
Also teaser for a new Flash fig :p

Well that premiere was kind of a bummer. One episode! Just one episode and they glazed over the entire Flashpoint Arc.... Cool. ...Not like that would have been neat to see or anything.... I guess Dr Alchemy is more of a threat(?)
I mean it was pretty exciting to see Wally in action, even if it was only twice. Also Dr Clariss is just some guy that Wally has a beef with? Maybe they'll elaborate on it in the future, but still... that character has a history that they've just kind of ignored.
I mean Flashpoint was set up to reboot the DC Comics continuity and bring us into the New 52. All this episode really did was neatly wrap up a cliff-hanger using a skeleton of that story's idea, starting us in a new season. Kind of a cop-out in my opinion. I feel like the premise with the next few episodes will be “what's different” and how it's weird everything is now.... like they did last season with Earth 2.... huh... okay...
Also, most of the drama from this premiere stemmed from the Iris-Barry romance, and I don't think that was a very smart idea. I mean come on, season two started with Flash Day, and by Ep 3 Jay showed up (Even though it wasn't Jay, which I'm still not too happy with)! It could have been more focused on his family, or even Barry's adjustment to his new environment. All I'm saying is that the source material is great for a reason, and it stinks to have it ignored for mostly Barry and Iris.
It's so hard to judge this biased on the fact that this was all in one episode! I would have guessed the first episode would have been Barry learning from Eobard about the Flashpoint, or maybe even some stronger connections to the other shows in the CWDCU....
I don't know man, it's not a strong start, but I suppose we'll have to wait and see where this goes because I'm not as hyped as I was for S3. It's got some great potential I guess but man, this kinnda stinks... S1 was fantastic, S2 was alright, and hopefully S3 won't be bad.
But you know who I really want to see? Abra Kadabra! I mean with all this time travel nonsense he's bound to show up eventually! :P

Before anyone asks, The is an amalgamation of Christo's Flash, his The Dark Flash, and Onlinesailin's Bright Red Flash. :)
This photo was actually part of a re-shoot from back in February! Patreon's got all the bonus content if you wanna check it out!
Oh I almost forgot to mention! I started a FB page if you're into that sort of thing... www.facebook.com/andrewcookstonphotography

What did you think of that one character doing that one thing? Visit my Patreon to see early photography, behind the scenes images, and WIPs of upcoming projects, and tell my how it's not like the comics!
Alright, I couldn’t help myself. That Christo/Junkrat Combo was too good so I made a few more figs to go with him, mostly just so I could have an excuse to take some more photos and show him off again :P
And for those that will ask, The Trident is from RexMinibrick and all three swords are from BrickForge!

Hello guys !!
So after quite a while i finally finished a figure that i wanted to do since we first saw the set photos... Zoom !
Perphaps one of my favorite DC villains, this figure was definetly very challenging, not only did i had to make the suit as accurate as possible, make the lines clean,etc... i also had to sculpt and paint the mask and make it look good and give that scary look Zoom gives.
Did i archived that ? well that's up to you to decide, but i gotta say that i'm more than happy with the final result.
Let me know what you think !
Have a Bricktacular day.

Here they are ...The Justice League members all lined up .
I thought this would be a great pic for the end of this batch of pics n figs .
Who's your favorite and why ?
Shared this new post over on insta and honestly I just can't stop keep thinking about this Flash fig I put together, so I'm gonna share this post over here too :)
EclipseGrafx Hands, everything else is official Lego
Why havn't I photographed The Button yet?!
This post feels like a few hundred years too late, but boy was this story a fun little ride when it came out!
With the fantastic first issue of Bat's and Eobard going at it like crazy people, then that perfect moment with Jay towards the end of the story! I loved every page of it! :)
Looking back on it, I still had more fun with it than Doomsday Clock so far but that's just me :P
Now don’t get me wrong when I say this, but despite those few prelude issues, the later and later it takes for DC to publish Doomsday Clock, it has me thinking that perhaps “The Button” won’t mean very much in a few years.
Like, with Dr Manhattan being eluded to having created the DC Multiverse or maybe like Dr Manhattan had Mr Oz kidnap major players in DC’s lineup (now possibly for no reason...?) Or bringing Wally West back into continuity!
It’s just taking a really long time for a pay off when all of this started nearly two years ago, and boldly going so far as to say that DC Rebirth was the spawn of this Watchmen integration. That social impact from a narrative perspective is starting to run dry. There’s only so much more suspense you can build, and only so many teases you can present before people start to get bored of it (like me) :P
“OMG Doctor Manhattan! Where Is He?! What’s he doing?! When does this take place in the timeline?! What’s his deal?! Why did he eat The JSA?! Why is he so darn blue?! Watch out he’s messing around with reality and he’s gonna getchya! Oooooo! spooky drama!”
See what I mean? We’ve been on this kick for years now! I’ve had Christo figures ship to me quicker than this! :P
I mean, we had another major “crisis” event (DKMetal) that started and concluded after this whole thing kicked off. From the beginning I was hoping that we would’ve had some definitive answers to The Watchmen by now.
Like I said, don’t get me wrong, I’m still enjoying watching The Watchmen unfold onto the landscape, but man it's taking a while to get going!
Okay but enough about me complaining about Doomsday Clock! This post is about The Button!
Pretty soon after this arc was released, I had the thought of “...maybe one day I'll get around to photographing it...” and you know what, I'm glad I did! Because it looks great!

Now, I'm sure most of you have noticed that I (more or less) disappeared from Flickr over the last few weeks. In fact, if you hadn't known, there was an exclusive Patreon-Only Superman Week with tons of memebr exclusive posts were shared. So that might have something to do with how it feels like I've abandoned Flickr :P
But don't worry! There had been a shake up in my personal life pushing my photographing schedule all out of whack!
Patreon has a big post with more details if you care, but for now, I may not be posting weekly here to flickr, but rather every other week. So yeah.
If you want the info, buzz over to Patreon for that! :)
Otherwise!
I'll keep it short this week!
This week, Patreon had some cool stuff like a editing tutorial video, BTS junk (like how to build your own cosmic treadmill), additional bonus photos from the shoot... plus a bunch of other really cool things from previous weeks!
So what are you waiting for? Run on over there now! :)

I recently sold this UG Minifigures Azrael Batman. But before I sent him away, I took this group shot so I had one last post to remember him by.
I only took one other photoshoot with him in the four or five years that I owned the fig, and yet somehow it was still hard to let it go...
But he's off to a better place now, I hope!

So with Brandon Routh showing off his mug in that beautiful Kingdom Come Superman suit, it got me all riled up for one of my all time favorite books ever published by DC. I’ve never quite been able to capture Alex Ross’ art style in my builds (and trust me I’ve tried), but this old Patreon Exclusive from last year (that was lost to the chopping block from my GoJ series from TWO years back) was the closest I’d come to mastering that hazy watercolor look.
At any rate, I figured I’d release it from the vault and share it with you because it deserves some love :)
So I recently picked up FunnyBrick's new New52 Earth-2 Jason Jay Garrick (man that’s a mouthful), and during my Patreon review of the fig, I went a little nuts making fig combos with some of the custom parts he came with. Somehow through it all I came up with an evil looking speedster, which in turn inspired me to take a punt at a few of the other members of Earth-3's Crime Syndicate! They turned out pretty rad! :P

Hello guys !
Man what a year.... a lot of stuff happened, some good, some bad, a lot of people would say 2016 was one of the worst years lately and tbh they are kinda right, but personally i consider this year to be one of the best of my life, a lot of good things come out of it, new people, new opportunities, a lot of the good things were due to a specific group of people of my life, my family and someone else that i will eventually tell you guys about :D
But definetly YOU ! yes you, the one reading this desc, you were one of the people who made my year great, you and other 425 people made my year great, honestly... i never thought we would come this far, and damn we are almost half 1k people, and the fact that you all, every single one of you... show your support, faving, commenting or sharing my content means a world to me.
Thank you all for sticking around, thank you to my followers, my friends, the league and my family (if you are even reading this) for making my year amazing ! and for pushing me to be better in every sense.
I wanted to post this picture not only to thank you guys but to also show you what i'm doing on 2017, you can see a couple sneak peaks here and there along with the best figure you guys helped me create, some figs have 4 headgear & hair place holders, that should tell you enought of who those figs are ;)
Thanks again for everything guys, i'm taking a little break, no i'm not leaving, i'm just taking some weeks off (plus i gotta wait for some orders to arrive in order to post stuff xD) i will still look at flickr to check all of your amazing content, i'm just not posting anything for some weeks. But ! expect a best customs of the year list when i come back ! :D
Have an amazing couple of weeks & May the force be with you !
Many years ago DC comics created a number of characters, one such superhero was named, "The Flash." In the 80's it was a tv program and in each episode he always seemed to be running by just such a building at night.
It is a time of exploration and expansion.
The West is Wild and heroes with almost superhuman reflexes and unnatural powers are beginning to emerge.
The Mexican Man Hunter
Wan-dah
Kid Flash
Fish man
Bryce Wayne
Justice Man
Jaiden Lan-ton
Credit for this goes to a random web page I found in Spanish years ago but only recent worked out how I was going to do Diana and Aquaman justice.
I updated my Heatwave fig a little while ago and shot him over the same build as BrickAsylum's Zoom flic.kr/p/HreRaW
I was pretty inspired by BuiltWithBricks. Heat Wave fig, using Marge's arms in this way, so kudos to him for being better than me :P
But yeah, not a whole lot to say about this one, just found the file on my computer and realized it never got uploaded. I took a similar photo with Captain Cold to pair with this as a ~Patreon Exclusive~ so check that out, it's pretty... cool :P
This photo is made possible by my friends and fans!
Mr WhiteBrix pledged a wonderful Five Dollars, and gets this radical shout out! He's got some great builds that you all should go see, what a wonderful guy! :)

Merry Crisis! Happy Flashpoint! Uh… yeah, you better have a uh… a DC Holiday ...or whatever! (boy this sure ran out of steam quickly) December is a weird month…
Dear @lego, all I want this holiday season is a DC Advent Calendar!
I made this figs as an entry for the #psychocustomsfestivecontest by lego.psycho.customs over on Insta :)
PS.
All the holiday custom parts were made last year by Brothersfigure and shipped out from minifigures.co.uk :)
I have once again photographed another family portrait of a bunch of goofy colorful characters! It was another case of “geez I have a lot of these figs lying around on their own, why don’t I put them all together in ONE GIANT PHOTO!”
And I know nobody ever reads these, but if you did, a majority of the custom figs are my own designs using elements and fig parts from Christo7108, Citizen Brick, BigKidBrix, Lab9, KOPF/Knock-Offs, Minifig Madness, Phoenix Customs, EclipseGrafx, Funny Brick, Minifigure Maniacs, Crystal Minifigs… and uh yeah… probably more. Additionally Martian Mahunter’s boots are edited. They do not exist.
If you guys want to see how I edited this shot, check out my Patron to watch it all come together! Or grab yourself a poster on my RedBubble! :)

Let me introduce you to my new creations, the "CHIBZ brick figures"
Let's say it! I am a geek and I love collectables goodies. So I have created a line of brick figures based on famous characters from movies, series, comics, cartoons, animes etc..

Just got two little custom figs (The Fig Factory).
Post-Edit - edited the eyes for a more official Lego look, and a touch of dust removal.
PLEASE COMMENT IF YOU FAVORITE
Meanwhile, at the watchtower, the league decided to host a little get together. Can you guess what everyone is dressed as? Probably.
aka The Glorified Super Friends
Now this shot tends to be nothing special, but has long been in my head to create. Considering all of these (with the exception of my newer onlinesailin GL) have each had their share of the spotlight. I felt it only fair to put all of their collective super-ness in one place.
All things considered, now that my Flash series has come to a close, I find myself in a dry spell for newer content. I've got a few Arrow, Superman, and standalone characters coming soon, but only a couple shot yet.
More will come, but all in due time.
But anyway, feel free to leave some feed back, or even suggestions for further projects. :)
Thanks guys :)
PLEASE COMMENT IF YOU FAVORITE
So I've kinda been down on this season of the flash, but holy shit was last nights episode good, so I made these guys. Really just wanted to make Harrison wells, but made Barry as well.
Oh man you guys have no idea how excited I was to find out that Christo was continuing his Flash figures! Plus from some reliable sources, I have heard that we'll be seeing The Dark Flash (Wally West's Clone) plus Jay Garrick as well! I'm super excited to expand to those figs as soon as they hit his internet shelves :P
I'm always impressed with Christo's new releases, but the two new Lantern Flashes have just blown my mind! Now as some of the other reviews of the Lantern figs from Adam over at Phoenix Brickshad mentioned, these figures look incredible in natural lighting! The belts and helmet-wings (plus the white lantern's boots) are all reflective!
Now with a bit of help from a Friend/ Lego Coworker, he enlightened me to the process of how Christo (supossedly) made the elements of the figures reflective. Now I don't know his process personally, but what I assume that the process he uses is called Vacuum Metallizing. Here is a few links to some info about it and a few places that produce "Chrome Elements":
Youtube Practical Stuff: www.youtube.com/watch?v=eMurtKVUm3I
Model Cars/Commissions: www.chrometechusa.com/model-cars-and-collectibles.html
Custom Lego: www.bricklink.com/store.asp?p=ChromeBricks
But it's a very intense and cool process! I've got to hand it to Christo for going all out with these figs and putting the amount of time and effort into them for us collectors to enjoy :)
I've heard a lot of folks complain about the price-point but taken into consideration the work that goes into these figs, these are a pretty decent value.
Anyway, I know everybody has they're own opinions but I'm very pleased with the quality and extremely glad to own these five :)
Here we have Christo's White Lantern Flash in action! I have uploaded these pair of photos with different lighting angles to show off the reflective elements of the figure. It's a big challenge to capture the reflective qualities without using a comparative set of images, like this. (or maybe a video, but I'm not skilled enough in that area :P )
The process Christo uses to get the reflective qualities applied to his figures is called Vacuum Metallizing. Here is a few links to some info about it and a few places that produce "Chrome Elements":
Youtube Practical Stuff: www.youtube.com/watch?v=eMurtKVUm3I
Model Cars/Commissions: www.chrometechusa.com/model-cars-and-collectibles.html
Custom Lego: www.bricklink.com/store.asp?p=ChromeBricks
But besides that, I took the time to build a lantern to acompany the fig, plus on a personal note, I feel like I'm getting really good at drawing lightning :P
As always, let me know what you guys think, I love to hear the feedback :)
Cicada! I’ve been binge watching Season 5 of the Flash and decided to create a version of him, combining the past Cicada and the CW in a way. I imagine this version is not much of a cult leader and is more of the murderer we’ve seen in the Flash
He’s using the Flitwick head, a dwarf beard from the Hobbit, Ninjago Movie torso, and LM2 Lucy legs. His dagger was made out of a cut up lightning bolt piece
Listen to me, Barry!
Breathe!
...Breathe.
Feel the air.... Feel that wind on your face.
Feel the ground with your feet, lifting you up, pushing you forward...
And the lightning, Barry... feel the lightning.
Feel its power, its electricity thumping through your veins, crackling through you, traveling to every nerve in your body, like a shock.
You're no longer you now, you're part of something greater... part of a speed force. It's yours
S01E17
-------------FINALE-SPOILERS--------------
OH MY GOD! ...THEY DID... OH WOW... AND THE... MY GOODNESS...!
Did this really just happen?! That was incredible! I have so many feelings right now!
So my first thoughts about all of this are centered around that final 15 minutes. Time Machines and Wormholes and Weddings and Helmets! (Oh man I literally yelped when Jay's Helmet came on screen) Plus Tom Cavanagh's performance is incredible! I hope the new Eobard will be able to set that bar for me.
But like, the whole Speedforce scene with the clips of things like the Flash statue, Killer Frost, Legends of Tomorrow stuff; Dude this show is not messing around! The Flash has so much history and works so well for TV and I'm so incredibly happy it's going in the 'dorky-comic' direction as opposed to Arrow's current "realistic" thing they've got going on.
And let's talk about Onlinesailin's fig! With John's design and The CW's black leather look... I stare at this fig and all I can think of is Zoom going through his punk-rocker phase :P
Anyway, what did you guys think of that finale? Or even the whole season? I'm just blown away at what we've been given in this show! :)
This is something completely different for me!
Using tinfoil and a pinch of Photoshop I wanted to create The Mirrorverse in a kaleidoscope like way; In the same vein of Steven Cummings' work, like his cover of The Flash #212 vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/marvel_dc/images/b/b3/Flash_...
There have been plenty of different renditions of The Mirrorverse depending on the artist and story, but this image was solely inspired by that cover.
Patreon has an few alternate versions of this image featuring more photos of the back, sides, and limbs of the figs, but I felt it was just a bit too convoluted for Flickr (The images are huge btw) Plus I chucked in a few of the photo's Pre-Edit so you can see how the foil helps with the mirroring process :)

Basquiat's paintings are often reflections of the popular culture in which he lived. In this work, as in others, the artist presents a theme of everyday life, something that the public knew well. This is a reference to Pez sweets, a very popular brand in the United States.
This is one of a few new more photo's taken with my new Nikon, showcasing Christo's Jay Garrick.
I am in love with this fantastic minifig! I have some awesome ideas in store for this speedster and I can't wait to execute some of them!
Until then enjoy these too!

The emergency alarm rung loudly as Captain Boomerang quickly stuffed his bags with cash from The Keystone City National Bank. He knew it was only minutes before The Flash would arrive on the scene. Rummaging through a final cash drawer he heard glass shatter from above him!
“Entering through the skylight isn't typically your style Flash!” Harkness mocked without even turning to face the noise.
“I didn't know I even had a style...” said an unfamiliar voice
“Wait! You're not--” The Captain said shocked, turning around.
“Yeah...” the hooded figure spoke with a smirk on his face, “Red isn't really my color...”
--------------------------------------
Green Arrow!? Captain Boomerang?! Keystone City?! What the heck is going on!?
Tomorrow holds more surprises so keep watch!
Finally got my hands on that new(ish) Junkrat fig and man does the head work great for Eobard! So of course I couldn’t help but take some photos of him :P

“I won't be stuck here for long you know! The Flash will find you!” Iris shouted through the thick ice of the prison she was encased within.
“The Flash isn't coming for you or me!” Captain Cold snapped back “Only an idiot would try and stop me! With you at my ransom, The Mayor will have to give in to my demands!”
“And you think The Flash will wait for him to gather all that money?”
“I'll make him wait! And if he tries anything, I'll stop him cold!”
Suddenly a rush of hot air entered the room followed by the sound of crackling lightning!
“Well, I guess he really is an idiot...”
--------------------------------------
Captain Cold is back, and he's kidnapped Iris West!
I finally get to show off my new version of Leonard Snart to you guys! Woo! His primary design was based off of the sleeveless New 52 costume with a twist of my own, giving him holsters for his new dual Freeze Guns :)
All in all I'm pretty happy with this figure and how he's turned out, plus Iris is pretty great too, but you'll see more of here later :)
Anyway, Part 2 comes tomorrow so keep an eye out! :)
The Collab Patrol strikes again!
This time we came through and made our own, single character versions of The Justice League! Naturally I had to pick The Flash!
Be sure to check out the CollabPatrol hashtag over on instagram if any of you guys want to see the rest of the figs we all came up with! It was a blast! :)
