Dore is on the outskirts of Sheffield and is very much an active village with many traditions. At this time of year, like many other villages the wells are dressed for the gala week.
This detail is from the Well Dressing made by the local Guides and is based on Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll.
It seems like an ideal subject for Texture Tuesday.

Our weathered shots should be relative to worn or damaged by the seasons. Architecture, vehicles, Mother Nature and not forgetting portraiture can all be exposed to weather effecting the surface by changing the colour, the form or the texture of our subject.

Another contribution to Kim Klassen's 'Texture Tuesday' ~
Shot with my DSLR, cropped & tweaked in iPhoto, then taken into FX Photo Studio Pro where I added a Socorro effect; next into PSE, added 2 layers of Kim's texture, 'abstract' ~ soft light @ 80% + screen @ 15%; on to a wee bit of minor erasing & sharpening, re-cropped, added copyright.

We're on holiday at the moment and saw this as we came out of an ice cream parlour. Just below a kiddies' play park, too! :-(
someone would have been here a loooong time to see paint dry to this extent. This'll make for a neat texture in some other creation.
