Week #8 (w/b 30 August) When Things Go Wrong - do you throw your hands up in the air, get into a mad panic or just sit back and say “that’s life?” I’m sure I know someone who just says “heck, give me some chocolate!” You can share your “gone wrong” happenings or maybe just what to do when those things do go wrong and remember to keep smiling!!

When things go wrong, I mean horribly wrong, especially when I was learning to sail; I just felt like I needed to be out of there; that unlock the gate and let me out kinda feeling.

Dore is on the outskirts of Sheffield and is very much an active village with many traditions. At this time of year, like many other villages the wells are dressed for the gala week.
This detail is from the Well Dressing made by the local Guides and is based on Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll.
It seems like an ideal subject for Texture Tuesday.

Another contribution to Kim Klassen's 'Texture Tuesday' ~
Shot with my DSLR, cropped & tweaked in iPhoto, then taken into FX Photo Studio Pro where I added a Socorro effect; next into PSE, added 2 layers of Kim's texture, 'abstract' ~ soft light @ 80% + screen @ 15%; on to a wee bit of minor erasing & sharpening, re-cropped, added copyright.
We're on holiday at the moment and saw this as we came out of an ice cream parlour. Just below a kiddies' play park, too! :-(

Beyond Layers- Kim Klassen T16 Texture. This saying hung in my Grandma's kitchen for as long as I can remember growing up. I must have read it thousands of times over the years. Its a part of me now so when I am talking I try to move my topics up the ladder... whoever aims to be small :-) Thanks Gram!
the old fisherman heads home with his empty net and empty bucket. he told me that the crabs were not active this morning. the old fisherman blames the rains; too much freshwater running into the bay. I knew that the tide had been coming in bringing with it the sea water but maybe the old fisherman was right.
7 Days of Shooting - Week #17 (w/b 29th October) Beginning with the letter N: You are free to choose the subject of your photo this week, as long as it begins with the letter N ... nuts, nets, nails, newts. I think it's a little early, but neige is perfectly acceptable too ;)
This week's Texture Tuesday challenge with Kim Klassen was to use at least 1 layer of her freebie texture, Phoebe, from last week. Here is an Upside-down Jelly from my trip last Friday to the GA Aquarium. I used 2 layers of Phoebe (Soft Light @ 100% and Multiply @25%).
Be sure to check out the other Texture Tuesday linkups.

The Collector is the 1963 debut novel by English author John Fowles. It was adapted as a feature film of the same name in 1965.
The novel is about a lonely young man, Frederick Clegg, who works as a clerk in a city hall and collects butterflies in his spare time.
