4 x small plants, growing for the new block. They will have masses of showy red bottlebrush flowers which the birds love.
Callistemon viminalis occurs naturally on the east coast of Australia from Cape York to north-east New South Wales.
One of the most popular in cultivation is Callistemon 'Captain Cook'. This cultivar was widely promoted to commemorate the 200th anniversary of Captain James Cook's discovery of the east coast of Australia in 1770 and it remains popular today.

Shot for 7DOS Weekly theme Contrasting textures, texture Tuesday. Good hotels have the softest linens.
This week's Texture Tuesday theme was to use Kim's simplicity texture. I used 1 layer at soft light at 75% on this close-up of an orchid from the Atlanta Botanical Gardens.
Make sure to check out all the other lovely entries for this week's Simplicity eDition of Texture Tuesday.
It's Tuesday, and that means Texture Tuesday with Kim Klassen. This week we had a challenge to include a coffee or tea cup and, of course, use one of her textures. I used 3: Love, Grey Day Vintage, and February Magic. My tea cup is from my wedding china.
Using KimKlassen's free textures, this is my entry for "open" - an open book and a quote that says: A mind is like a parachute; it functions only when it's open.

For Texture Tues I used Kim's free texture Ugg Love and using various PSE blending modes, I came up with SO many versions of this image. It's a blend of a gazing ball in my yard and a mixed media piece I made and Kim's texture. - A great way to experiment with color combos for a painting, right?

Shot for CC December's most versatile, red and green together, and for 7DOS, Texture Tuesday, Naughty but Nice - treats.
OPEN: I caught this picture while sitting at a stoplight today... these birds were working hard to get the frozen berries OPEN, so they could enjoy the juicy juice inside. OK, I know this is a stretch on the theme, but I loved how the pic turned out so I had to make it fit:) Kim Klassen's Providence texture, multiply X2, and some erasing to make the berries stand out.
Thanks for looking.
I crocheted this scarf a while back and rarely ever use it. Something else I should pass along. Shot for 7DOS Weekly theme bright colours, Texture Tuesday - a day late.
I haven't participated in a Texture Tuesday for a while. I even had to go back into the archives to find something to play with this week. This was shot at the Atlanta Botanical Gardens sometime this past summer. This week's Texture Tuesday challenge was that our image must contain 2 different layers of any of Kim's textures. I chose to use Frame It and Scripted Edges for this image. I think it made a not-so-good image into something special.
Our weathered shots should be relative to worn or damaged by the seasons. Architecture, vehicles, Mother Nature and not forgetting portraiture can all be exposed to weather effecting the surface by changing the colour, the form or the texture of our subject.

For Kim Klassen's Texture Tuesday The Love eDition.
I used Kim's Thursday and Warmly Cracked.
I used 3 of Kim's textures on this image to tone down the green background a bit (it was a really bright green): I am at 58% multiply, cool grunge at 73% and nutmeg at 53% multiply. I also added a glorious grunge fortitude layer from French kiss. The quote was in splendid 66 and scriptorama fonts.

7 Days of Shooting – Week #11 (w/b 25 September) Half As Good
We don’t want the whole subject just half of it is going to work this week! Half an apple, half a cup of coffee, half a sixpence …. you’ve got it anything that is half and you will be allowed to crop your subject as long as it is an accurate half size of the whole subject!!

It's the Sweet Peeps eDition of Texture Tuesday with Kim Klassen. I got this shot of my hubby, Ben, during a sunset cruise on our recent vacation in Florida. The image alone is OK, but I was shocked by what I could do to it with the addition of textures. I think the textures really made it a spectacular image. If it hadn't been for this challenge I don't think I would have considered using textures on an image of a person.
Textures used are all by Kim Klassen: She loves you yeah, Grey Day Slate, Dusty Rose, and Golden
Make sure to go check out the other Sweet Peeps.

Autumn Burst on Soft Light at 77%
Levels adjustment and a desaturation layer
The Autumn Burst texture reminds me of a rainbow, minus the color, and the colors have been slow to pop around here this fall!
