Studio 26 assignment - textures and layers

For this one I first made a simple brush using one of the leaf shapes in the PS Elements custom shape tool. Then I opened a wall image. Seven layers of leaves using my new brush with the hue jitter on the brush quite high to get different tones. I used different blend modes and opacities for each layer. Then added three layers of a different wall texture image. Layer 1, soft light 100%, layer 2, soft light 40%, layer 3, hard light 16%. A couple more layers using a grunge brush in some areas, low opacity brush and overlay blend mode and it was done.

Extream heat and lack of rainfall turns this lake into dry deserted Barren Land, with such textured surface. We sure find this texture visually Intriguing, but one cannot imagine what these people facing drought would be going through. No water means No Food, means Nothing to eat, means No Life.

Emergence 1

Over time I have created numerous textures and have noticed that after some contemplation I could begin to see objects, figures, landscapes, creatures, etc. With some enhancement I hope to help these characters emerge. See first comment.

The challenge this year is to get some images of the screech owls in our backyard that are unique from the ones I got last year. So how about black and white from a bit wider angle. Love the texture of the tree in b/w
