the beautifuly aged back of an old kodak paper print
I have to admit I never anticipated so many people using the texture. Seems like I created some kind of mini photographic (amen break) phenomenon.
If you don't already know about the "Amen Break", do yourself a favor and click on the link below!

Thank you for your visit!
This old vase/planter has been laying out in the yard for about 5 yrs now....it had a pecan tree in it that was brought from the old house, but by the time I got around to transplanting it, the roots had grown so much that I couldn't get it out of the vase without breaking it!!
The tree is now dead, and I'm waiting for it to decompose enough to free the vase!!!!
Yeah, I'm lazy......'Form and Texture' On Black
Two years he walks the earth.
No phone, no pool, no pets, no cigarettes.
Ultimate freedom. An extremist. An aesthetic voyager whose home is the road.
Escaped from Atlanta. Thou shalt not return, 'cause "the west is the best." And
now after two rambling years comes the final and greatest adventure. The climatic battle to kill the false being within and victoriously conclude the spiritual pilgrimage. Ten days and nights of freight trains and hitchhiking bring him to the Great White North. No longer to be poisoned by civilization he flees and walks alone upon the land to become lost in the wild.
-Alexander Supertramp (aka Chris McCandless) May 1992.
Hope everyone is having a great weekend! H.S.S.

The earth tones at Bryce Canyon are pleasant in cloudy sunlight. This is from Sunset Point. Compare with the close-up of hoodoos I showed yesterday.
I'm always struck by the color variations, both vertical and latitudinal. That white band is especially intriguing. Some shades repeat in sequences, with sharp boundaries between them.
At right, the lizard-shaped feature is more resistant caprock that protects the softer strata underneath. You can see other stretches of that layer across the picture at several elevations.
See more of my Bryce Canyon shots by clicking on the brycecanyon tag. My large Earth Tones album shows a wide variety of colors in the landscapes of Planet Earth.

It's sometimes surprising what's hiding behind a dreary winter sky. This was taken at the Black Butte Dam overlook. Visibility was limited due to the weather but I was intriqued by the position of the rock facings and the trees and decided it was worth a shot. Backlighting and layering helped bring out the colors in the sky and then I used a texture called pink spotlight from pareeerica www.flickr.com/photos/8078381@N03/ .
