I went to temple about 2 weeks ago.

Its temple is famous for change leaves.

Its name is 'JAKOIN'. 寂光院

We say 'Momijidera'.　もみじ寺

early tonight we had a burst of rain. i looked at our street: pools of water and light. so i grabbed my camera as mark jokingly said, “hey, don’t play in the street!” i walked a few blocks, thunder growing, rain increasing. i know that squatting in the middle of traffic during a rain-soaked, thunderstorm night is not wise, but it does provide interesting bokeh and mood. (note: i never put myself or others in danger, though i did get some strange looks.)

when i took this photograph, the rain was pouring and my camera was wet—as evident from the splattered-lens bokeh. i ran home, happy and giddy, lightning in the sky, thunder in my ears. ps: if you’re careful, it’s okay to play in the street, especially when it’s raining.
