Textiles Unit. Brief - On the Sea Shore
This shows observational drawing from shells using ink and stick, a fine liner and a tonal pencil drawing. These drawings were the starting point for experimenting with lots of different types of textiles and techniques and resulting in my felt final piece.

These textile samples are from the beach texture illustrations interpreted using textile methods and materials.
Projected textile pattern on garment at Cupertino Community Center. Textile photographed at Cupertino Community Center on May 17th, 2010 as part of textile community image collection project. The public was invited to bring in their cultural fabrics to share and to be photographed. The event was sponsored by the Cupertino Library and was part of their Asian Heritage Month programming.
Work from Carleton Day Centre's Wednesday Art Group. A partnership project between Carlisle Day Services and Prism Arts. In this block of sessions we're exploring textiles and our theme is the Natural World. The work is on show at Carlisle Archives Centre during March. January-March 2017.
These samples reflect on my mom's travel's through Africa, Saudi Arabia and America when she was nursing- hence surgical equipment. I used Calico and Cotton stained with tea and coffee as i felt it was appropriate to the theme.
Screen printed using printex and buff binder. Also printed images onto cotton, features machine embroidery.
