Testing lilya's watercolor kit (thank you!) and some hot press paper I recently got. :-/... My disappointment is mainly with the paper. I just don't like how quickly the paint dries. It was like painting with markers. So I think I'll have to give it another go with cold press. Might end up using this as a postcard.

While painting this I also realized how 1) Without pre-planning I'm just terrible at subject matter and 2) This paint is reluctant to bind together after mixing. It's kind of strange but at the same time it's nice because it gives the color more dimension.

p.s. The scanner seems to have selectively chosen the yellow over the warm red hue in the background. In actuality, the background has a warmer red glow.

I'm not posting this photo because I think it's "good," but rather because I've read some crap online about the Hasselblad not being able to take "good" photos (i.e., sharp) at shutter speeds slower than 1/125.

I'm here to show that this is BS. This photo was taken handheld at 1/8!! Sure, I "cheated" by using the mirror lock, but whether using the mirror lock function bettered the results in previous online garbage was not specified. And using the mirror lock was the first thing I thought of when I read that nonsense. Now, I've seen 1/8 handheld and crisp photos while using a Rolleiflex, but they don't have that mirror slap (and while I don't have a Rollei, I hear they, too, have a mirror lock function).

So that's the only point of this post. And, for the curious, there is NO PP of this shot. As is from the Hassy. No sharpening. But, again, what else is expected from a Hassy? :-)

Received the Zeiss UV filter for the Carl Zeiss 85mm and this is from my first set of shots with it. I like the results. Shot this in bright sunlight.

Still from a CGI video phantogram test for upcoming project:

Testing out some eyelets that were purchased. Don't really like them - you have to chose your material thickness to suit the eyelet or file down the eyelet to fit. I think it would be easier to make a tube rivet from scratch. Maybe. It's not visible in this photo, but the brass eyelets are too shiny. I might be able to dull them down, but still the metal seems out of place.

There does seem to be a tendency to overexpose, which I'll need to work on.

I am pretty happy with the finished bag. Next one I will be adding some zippered pockets, just didn't have any zips in coordinating colors.
