This is one of the test stands at work. They used to test SSMEs on it, but now it sits as a monument to what it once was.
CaMLA Young Learners Tests of English (YLTE) are a fun and motivating way to test the English of young learners in the primary and middle grades. The tests cover all four language skills and are developed by CaMLA in association with Cambridge ESOL.
The tests provide a clear and transparent assessment from Bronze (beginner) through Silver to Gold (early intermediate). The tests are international, focusing on American English. Of primary importance is that the testing experience have a positive impact on children and on their subsequent language learning.

Strobist: 3 light set-up. SB25 with a red gel up high zoomed to 28mm, 1/8th power, SB25 with blue gel low, camera right zoomed to 35mm 1/4 power, SB800 zoomed to 105mm 1/32 power pointing straight into my face.
The difference between these two shots is the focussing of the lens. I am standing in front of the red gelled strobe.
Please let me know what you think.
BMW 520 Diesel. Used as testcar by the Dutch Police because the leasecontracts became to an end. Pic made in 2011.
Testing flexibility of clay as part of my strength tests on the new Studio by Sculpey brand clay. The pictured clay is actually Premo! brand, which I rolled out to the third thickest setting on my pasta machine, then baked.

The Harsh reality of Mankind's search for Power and wealth, does go to far sometimes. sometimes in the name of money , sometimes in the name of National Defense ,sometimes just in the guise of a "Greater Good"
Private companies run studies And a lot of this type of research is done using Low income people ,students, also Military recruits in the United States but is also prevalent in India ,Europe, Asia,
This is a $14 billion dollar Industry in the united states alone
I am not totally against Human testing as long as the participants have full knowledge of whats going on and are completely willing
But The question is " How Far is to far ?"
And who gets the job of making sure that everyone is Playing by the "rules"
what will the punishment be for someone who breaks the "rules" ?
Tested March 2014
An excellent performance, 1 advisory for a freyed numberplate. As uploaded previously.
Taxed 01/06/14 for 6 months
I suspect this'll be its last tax-renewal with me, as hopefully co-driver Joe takes a 'turn' with the Bird.
Yes, I've been a dope and left the tax disc back in Nottingham, but given that the final lot of tax discs are being issued now, I can't see this being too much of an issue. Do you?
Insured 12 months TPFT
Referring back to a previous (Volvo) upload discussing insurances and seemingly illogical quotes, this student here bagged himself a policy at £362! I've been laughing for days!
Overall, Bluebird motoring has been and still is a delight. The car still gets plenty of positive words from passers-by.
The Bird has been on the roads with us for a year now. :-)
Snapped at a mates house.
This was done with a larger pinhole. The pin is an ordinary pushpin. The hole is made in a metal piece cut from a valentine candy box. This tin piece is taped to a Canon body cap and put on my 5D.
The hole is large enough that I can see it clearly with the naked eye. If I hold the pinhole to my eye, I can clearly see an image through it.

Hand-held, x42 zoom, autofocus, uncropped.
Greater-spotted Woodpecker
The autofocus has to be persuaded carefully to choose the bird. I used centre spot focus setting.
I recently acquired 6 cameras, all for free. I've been working on cleaning them and getting them up and ready the last few days... So far, 4/6 are working! This is a test shot from my new Countdown 70 with expired 669.
Some people do have an awesome photo for every day of their 365 project. I'm just not one of those people... and that's okay. :)
