I'm celebrating the transition to a Pro account by posting something that is hardly my best work.. but posting it because I've got all this new space to frolick in ;-)
Nationality test? Basically if you're into this stuff you're an Aussie. If not... well we'll still like you but you're clearly not true blue.
I'm right... just take a bite and see...
Final test on the indian pebble paper. For shine and true color Pebeo knocks it down 1st. Then 2nd comes royal for richness while it is slightly darker tone than Decoart. It doesn't have the cheap glitter effect that deco has so it wins 2nd. It retains a nice shine after dry. Decoart in 3rd (step down from royal). Now for liquitex as compared to Royal: while both dark Royal won the truer silver. Also while painting Royal had more of an easy balance. Both shine & balance on Liquitex deteriorate (even with dips of MC) so it comes in 4th. Last but not least Handyart in 5th. The only reason liquitex has the one up for Handyart it is silver, not bluesilver otherwise handyart woudlve won 4th & there you have it.
DRYING TIME: While Decoart had fastest drying time, liquitex came in 2nd, then royal, pebeo and finally handyart.

News article obtained from the Chicago Tribune:
Johnsburg, Illinois: A boating trip turned deadly Sunday afternoon for a Melrose Park man taking in Pistakee Lake in northwest suburban Johnsburg, officials said.
Preliminary autopsy results indicate the victim, 49-year-old William L. Trybula, died of drowning, according to a statement from the McHenry County coroner. Toxicology tests are pending, according to the statement.
McHenry Township Fire Protection District Battalion Chief Mike Majercik earlier said the victim was from Stone Park. He was pronounced dead at 5:05 p.m. at Centegra Northern Illinois Medical Center in McHenry, Majercik said.
According to an earlier statement from the coroner, the victim was found submerged in Pistakee Bay.
The victim was aboard a 23-foot Baja power boat with two other men and the friends stopped about 3:45 p.m. to take a swim. Two of them jumped into the water and the third stayed on the boat but turned off the engine. They were about 300 feet out in front of a home in the 4000 block of Pitzen Road in the village of Johnsburg, said Majercik.
One man swam back to bring his wallet to the boat but by that time, his friend was nowhere to be seen.
"They looked for the person in the water and could not find him,"’ Majercik said. "It was very windy."
Someone from the nearby home called 911 and about 10 different departments rushed to the scene with about 20 divers. One of the first responders, from a fire boat from Fox Lake, spotted a body floating in about 4 feet of water and rushed to him. But as they were hoisting him up about 4:30 p.m., their boat took on water and capsized, Majercik said.
Another boat got there quickly and the victim was place into an ambulance and taken to the hospital.
Majercik said the other two friends, one possibly from Chicago and the other from Schiller Park, were not injured. None of them were wearing life jackets.
Mark Adams, of Paradise Financial Partners nearby at 520 Bald Knob Rd., saw rescue workers on boats pull the man's body from the water.
"They took the body away in an ambulance," Adams said. The rescue boat flipped during the recovery, he said.
Adams said multiple towns responded with divers but crews were picking up and leaving about 5:15 p.m.
Lt. James Popovits of the McHenry County Sheriff's Office said Monday morning his agency will conduct an investigation of the incident.

Savanah tested for her Orange Belt tonight. She did a great job and made both me and her Pop Pop very proud. Kathy and Mom Mom weren't able to make it tonight so instead of taking a lot of photos, I shot some video with the little point and shoot I have so they could see how well she did.

Another elements that will be used in the series Test Drive. Really not much to say about this -- tachometer, shot at night. I really like the glow off the dashboard.

Nikon CFI Plan 10x/0.25NA 10.5mm WD objective mounted on Canon EF 100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM + Canon 5 D Mark II. This combination yields 5:1 on the sensor, i.e. 1 mm on reality projects to 5 mm on sensor.
I used continuous lighting with two 32 W full spectrum daylight lamps (CRI 97).
Left:
focus step size 0,01 mm
EFSC enabled (silent mode 1)
Middle:
otherwise same as left, but focus step size is 0,02
Right:
Otherwise same as middle but EFSC is not enabled (silent mode not used)
The results of the test are clear:
-0.02 mm focus step size is too coarse
-EFSC (electronic first shutter curtain) makes a huge difference in terms of sharpness
Having EFSC enabled means that there is no movement of any parts for the front curtain and vibrations are hence reduced resulting in sharper picture, especially if continuous lighting is used,

Tested by Fire
In today's world, a couple who has been married for 27 years is a rarity. My wife, Brandi, and I have been married for that long. One thing I know is you don't stay married for that length of time without going through fire. We have had our fair share of fire, for sure.
In the beginning of our marriage I was not a believer. That put a huge strain on us. The first 7 years of our marriage was pretty rough. I was not following the Lord and leading like I'm supposed to. On several occasions, we were on the verge of divorce. But in 2001, I did surrender to Christ and things got better, not because of us but because of Him.
However, things weren't all rainbows and unicorns after I was saved. I had an addiction to pornography that started when I was in middle school. Obviously, my wife was unaware but with any sin, light was shown upon the darkness. Sadly, my addiction still continued after she found out and again our marriage suffered to the point of divorce. But God saved me from my addiction and I have been delivered from it since. He worked a miracle in me and saved our marriage.
But as always, life gets in the way of happiness. Job, children, finances etc. were all distractions to our marriage. Many hurts happened and we had grown apart. It felt like we were spiraling towards separation again but again God intervened. It was like he hit me over the head with a frying pan. He showed me that I was too focused on self.
