Terminator with Lighting Claws

I was originally enrolled into the GETTY IMAGES collection as a contributor on April 9th 2012, and when links with FLICKR were terminated in March 2014, I was retained and fortunate enough to be signed up via a second contract, both of which have proved to be successful with sales of my photographs all over the world now handled exclusively by them.

On November 12th 2015 GETTY IMAGES unveiled plans for a new stills upload platform called ESP (Enterprise Submission Platform), to replace the existing 'Moment portal', and on November 13th I was invited to Beta test the new system prior to it being officially rolled out in December. (ESP went live on Tuesday December 15th 2015 and has smoothed out the upload process considerably).

With visits now in excess of 20.460 Million to my FLICKR site, used primarily these days as a fun platform to reach friends and family as I have now sold my professional gear and now take a more leisurely approach to my photographic exploits, I would like to say a huge and heartfelt 'THANK YOU' to FLICKR, GETTY IMAGES and everyone who drops by.

From 15 February 2016: Image of the lunar terminator taken when the Moon was 57 per cent illuminated on 15 February 2016. The Moon is always interesting to observe but the most fascinating areas are those near the terminator, where light from the Sun casts long shadows over the uneven lunar surface. Good times to observe this are when the Moon is roughly half lit as there are many craters and mountains in the area of the terminator, which can cast dramatic shadows. One example in the right of the picture is the Mare Imbrium where the lunar mountain Mons Piton can be seen casting a long shadow. I have deliberately left the image slightly over-exposed as this serves to further highlight the difference between the lit portion of the Moon and the dramatic light and dark zone around the terminator. I took this shot using a 6" SCT with a focal reducer and a Canon 600D via the prime-focus method.

For $10,000 you could have this 100% replica of the terminator's head, from the famous hollywood movie "Terminator 2, The Judgment Day". On sale inside the souvenir store in Universal Studio. At least that was the case when I was there 9 years ago.

As far as Neato is concerned all the robots in Terminator are pretty frightening. Take your pick – we wouldn’t want any of them running after us!

Fantastic work. The guy has a harnes that supports the Terminator behind him. The feet are wired so that as he walks, the Terminator marches in step. Impressive. Most impressive.

Yesterday I made a bike tour with my sister. After an hour we found a nice little field full of flowers in the middle of the forest. We saw a bunch of grasshoppers and I tried to get a shot of one. I bought myself some macro lens attachments as I couldn't afford a real macro lens and I have to say I was really surprised how great they work. Its awesome to enter the macro photography. So many details that you normally never see, astonishing.

The almost technical middle part of this buddy here kind reminded us on a terminator so I went for that title and that editing ;).

The Terminator is a 1984 American science fiction action film directed by James Cameron, co-written by Cameron, Gale Anne Hurd and William Wisher, Jr., and starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, Michael Biehn and Linda Hamilton. It was filmed in Los Angeles, produced by Hemdale Film Corporation and distributed by Orion Pictures. Schwarzenegger plays the Terminator, a cyborg assassin sent back in time from the year 2029 to 1984 to kill Sarah Connor, played by Hamilton. Biehn plays Kyle Reese, a soldier from the future sent back in time to protect Sarah.

Though not expected to be either a commercial or critical success, The Terminator topped the American box office for two weeks and helped launch the film career of Cameron and solidify that of Schwarzenegger. Three sequels have been produced: Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991), Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines (2003), and Terminator Salvation (2009), as well as a television series, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles (2008–2009). A reboot of the series, Terminator: Genesis, is scheduled for release in 2015. In 2008, The Terminator was selected by the Library of Congress for preservation in the American National Film Registry, being deemed "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant".
