Grand Central Terminal (GCT)— colloquially called Grand Central Station, or shortened to simply Grand Central — is a commuter rail terminal station at 42nd Street and Park Avenue in Midtown Manhattan in New York City, United States. Built by and named for the New York Central Railroad in the heyday of American long-distance passenger trains, it is the largest train station in the world by number of platforms: 44, with 67 tracks along them. They are on two levels, both below ground, with 41 tracks on the upper level and 26 on the lower, though the total number of tracks along platforms and in rail yards exceeds 100. When the Long Island Rail Road's new station opens in 2016 (see East Side Access), Grand Central will offer a total of 75 tracks and 48 platforms. The terminal covers an area of 48 acres (19 ha).

According to the travel magazine Travel + Leisure in its October 2011 survey, Grand Central Terminal is "the world's number six most visited tourist attraction", bringing in approximately 21,600,000 visitors annually. (per Wiki)

ROBERT JOHNS from Thurnby near Leicester was working at a small industrial site when he saw this terminal guard on a nearby wall. It seems a lazy installer couldn’t be bothered to remove and brick up the flue left from the old balanced flue boiler when installing its replacement. The situation was reported and explained to the landlord of the office unit.

Parting shots of San Francisco's Transbay Terminal, a now-dingy, 1930s'-era bus station that will close in early August, 2010. Thereafter, the building will be demolished and replaced by an all-new high-rise and high-speed rail station.

The is the Original terminal of Dublin Airport opened to commercial traffic in 1940. Although the terminal is still at least partly in use it has largely been replaced by two new terminal buildings one of which was built in the 1970's while the second one was opened in 2010.

The original terminal, designed by Desmond Fitzgerald is a wonderfully curved structure whose lines are sympathetic to those of an ocean liner. The building is topped by a distinctive control tower. The stylish design of the building reflects a time when air travel was regarded as graceful and exclusive in contrast to the modern functional buildings that now surround it.

Dover Cargo Terminal handles 350,000 tonnes annually at present with around 10,000 container movements per year. In 2012 and 2013, the Port of Dover posted record tonnages and saw considerable scope to capture a much bigger share of this market not only in the UK but in Europe too. This is one of the reasons why the Port is developing Dover Western Docks Revival as a golden opportunity to further develop the cargo business.

Aerial view of Indonesia's largest non-mall building........ and the most sterile, like many airports built by our government today. All of word made by Terminal 3 architect Benjamin Aris Nugroho are pure stupid, typical architect cliche. Visiting this airport is like you visiting nowhere, unless we saw picture of our founding father Soekarno and Hatta, just it. Is that Indonesia or where? This is critics from me, a buildings documenter and computer science student, and not closely involved on architectural studies.

This pic shows my new battery setup. The original side terminals were overloaded and caused all kinds of problems. My answer was to separate the cables and buy a Dual Terminal battery. It went together well and so far has seemed to solve the problems.

Grand Central Terminal (GCT; also referred to simply as Grand Central or incorrectly as Grand Central Station) is a commuter, rapid transit, and intercity railroad terminal at 42nd Street and Park Avenue in Midtown Manhattan in New York City, United States. The terminal serves commuters traveling on the Metro-North Railroad to Westchester, Putnam, and Dutchess counties in New York, as well as to Fairfield and New Haven counties in Connecticut. Grand Central Terminal has intricate designs both on its inside and outside, lending to its landmark designations, including as a U.S. National Historic Landmark. The terminal is one of the world's most visited tourist attractions, with 21.9 million visitors in 2013.

The station was built by and named for the New York Central and Hudson River Railroad in the pinnacle of American long-distance passenger rail travel. Until 1991, the terminal also served Amtrak, which moved to nearby Pennsylvania Station upon completion of the Empire Connection. The East Side Access project is underway to bring Long Island Rail Road service to the terminal.

Grand Central covers 48 acres (19 ha) and has 44 platforms, more than any other railroad station in the world. Its platforms, all below ground, serve 30 tracks on the upper level and 26 on the lower, though only 43 tracks are currently in use for passenger service. The total number of tracks along platforms and in rail yards exceeds 100 as most previous tracks that are not in regular use are used for the rail yard. Unlike other Metro-North stations, Grand Central Terminal is not owned by the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, but by a private company known as Midtown TDR Ventures.
