2005 visit to the Juniata Terminal, a former Pennsy L-C-L freight facility, now serving as a base of operations for Bennet Levin's famous Pennsy E-8s and other equipment.

Due to some of the requests or comments to "terminal" I've decided to post both the images used. This is part of the composite image I posted titled, "terminal". This is the right hand side or 2nd image as it was referred to in some of the comments on that first post. If you're just coming across this image, please see the ones titled, "terminal" and "terminal part 1" to get the sense of the composite effort.

The Terminal Tower in Cleveland Ohio is 771 feet tall. Construction started in 1926 and ended on 1930. It was the second tallest building in the world when built. It stood the tallest building in North America outside of New York until 1964. The model itself was quite a challenge to design. I created the technique of using the hero factory part to try and keep the tower stable. Overall I feel like the integration of the angles look pretty good.

Grand Central Terminal will be celebrating it's 100th anniversary next month, kicking off a year of events showcasing the past, present and future of this iconic New York City landmark.

I really love to visit, and photograph, Grand Central. I'm planning on attending as many of these centennial events as I can!

Almost home, waiting for the flight in an unusually uncrowded terminal. I liked the light.

In 2013 was completed the construction and opening of a terminal at the Riga Port in Latvia for the handling and short-term storage of bulk fertilizers. The terminal has been designed and constructed as part of a joint project by Russian and Latvian companies.

The total investment in the project was more than 60 million Euros. The capacity of the first phase of the terminal is 2 million tons of bulk cargo per year.

Terminal Tower is a 52-story, 235 m (771 ft), landmark skyscraper located on Public Square in downtown Cleveland, Ohio. Built during the skyscraper boom of the 1920s and 1930s, it was the fourth-tallest building in the world at its dedication on June 28, 1930 (after three buildings in New York City). It was the tallest building in the state of Ohio until the completion of Key Tower in 1991. It is part of the Tower City Center mixed-use development, and its major tenants include Forest City Enterprises, which owns the building and maintains its corporate headquarters there, and Riverside Company. ~ en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terminal_Tower

These 24x80 character 3270s were shared amongst a development and support team (PL/1 and JCL) of about 12 people. Ignore the lighting colour-cast, the machines really were that colour.

I was amazed at the connectivity VAMP gave us. Each of those little cells on the screen was a link to a system somewhere in the world, pre-TCP/IP.

These machines had no processing logic - they are just screens (VDUs - visual display units)

A Cessna 310 sits parked in front of the 1940 Air Terminal Museum in Houston, Tex. The museum is housed in the Houston Municipal Airport Terminal building, one of the few surviving examples of classic art deco airport architecture. It was built with Public Works Administration funds in 1940. Designed by architect Joseph Finger (who also designed Houston's City Hall), the terminal opened on September 28, 1940. The terminal served Houston during the years when air travelers dressed in their best and embarked for destinations aboard roaring propellor-driven airliners like the Douglas DC-3 and the Lockheed Constellation. The terminal served as the only commercial air terminal for Houston until the spring of 1955 and was subsequently used by various tenants until 1978. The museum’s permanent exhibition, in the North Wing of the building, tells the story of Houston area’s aviation history, beginning with the first recorded flight in Houston in 1910 through artifacts, exhibits, and photographs. The North Wing of the Air Terminal was opened to the public in February 2004 as the first phase of the museum. The 1940 Air Terminal Museum, 8325 Travelair St., Houston, Tex. 10 September 2022
