“We don’t make mistakes, we just have happy little accidents.“
It’s hard to knock the late Bob Ross - he got complete joy from what he was doing, and it showed in his work and personality. When things did not go as planned, he found a way to make the misstep work for him. I’d like to think that I do the same.
In the last post I offered a photogram that had been created by placing items on a piece of photographic paper and allowing it to be exposed by sunlight. I liked what had been created and scanned the result, as I knew that the colors would fade over time. It was the favorite of the group I had made and I decided that it would be the first to print large.
I felt that this would be an image that would print nicely on canvass so I loaded the printer with paper and set the printer driver for matt paper. This would throw the maximum amount of ink on the canvass. However, I had a happy little accident. I had previously been working with digital negatives and had told the driver to use only the black cartridge. Oops. Not only did the printer print without color, but also there was not enough ink in the cartridge to print it completely, so it ran out during the printing process. I actually liked this.
this is a drawing i made to express how i feel about technology. The eternal debate on utopia and dystopia.

My media studies professor told us to take a series of photographs to visually illustrate how we use technology in our everyday lives. I decided to take snapshots of my dorm room from 5 different angles to show how "bare" my room is without my digital media technology and its supplementary devices.

I feel sorry for the new generations that can't think because the batteries in thier calculator die or the power goes down and can't us the computer. Me, I was schooled to think in my head and truck on. The slide ruler in my hands I learned to use in the forth grade and the very first time the teacher saw it I was told to never bring it to school again because it was cheating. Still have it as you can see and use it often.
Hovercars!!!
This week's theme in my 52 week project is "Technology," and I've got quite the find! Ladies and gentlemen, I'm proud to announce that the day has finally come where we don't need wheels on our cars anymore! I found what I can only assume is the first prototype hovercar to hit the market. You can see the jets below it and notice the lack of wheels. I cannot wait for this new technology to become readily available as I'm sure it will make driving all that more fun. I mean, just look at the awesome colors these new hovercars come in! It looks like we won't need headlights anymore either! Oh I can't wait....this will be so much fun!!!

This morning I took this photo with the Sony QX1. It is a lens that is a camera but looks like a lens. The camera settings and shutter were being controlled with the iPhone in my hand. I edited this image with two camera apps called Camera+ and VSCOcam. I'm often excited, confused and amazed by the capacity and speed at which technology has captured our attention. I'm grateful for the advancements and all of the new techie toys my family and I get to play with but most thankful for the moments I'm able to capture in life with the same speed and capacity as technology advances. . Thank you scientists, engineers, pioneers, programmers, artists, and all those who make the advancements possible.
