Fall Version

Summer Version

The winter version seems brighter than the rest. Surprising.

Blogged.

Modern techniques make everything look more and more the same but the soul lies in the eyes.

I ran to the camera too soon....

A bit of technical difficulty x3

I kinda like it though.

This is my backyard, in Latham, while it's snowing.

If this looks a little dark and moody it is what it is because it was. Caught out in the rain and having nothing of any real interest to point my lens at I headed to the nearest shelter or rather spot of jungle with enough foliage to give me a bit of cover if only for a while.

Technically a bit of a mess whilst attempting to stitch 6 verticals diminishing whatever this small waterfall ever had going for it in the first place! Still, it has a certain gothic ambience about it although the rock and the root seem to be fighting for the spotlight never mind the waterfall!

Thank you for creeping by anyway :)

My fifth build for my Iron Builder round against LittleJohn! The seed part is the Technic Cable Connector in green

This cute and impressive wagtail gave me a good show and got used to me pretty quick. It is obviously a tough subject to photograph due to their size and speed. Out of the few thousands shots I took, a couple stood out of the acceptably Sharp that I managed to capture. This where it caught this flying insect display it’s impressive technic. I also liked that I captured the reflection. This has been captured along the Silh in Zurich.

What an incredible location to view the wonder and beauty of the night sky! After witnessing a fantastic sunset, I stayed on top of Tom, Dick and Harry Mountain to photograph the Milky Way arching over Mount Hood. I hope you like this one - I have been trying for several months to get the right conditions in order to achieve it and everything finally lined up for me.

Below you can the town of Government Camp. To the left of Mount Hood is a good view of Mount Adams, and Mount Jefferson can be seen just to the right of the gaseous section of the Milky Way.

Early morning on the Nanpiao Coal Railway and the first passenger service of the day is leaving the wayside platform at Shaguotun on its way to Sanjiazi. My little bridge camera was not up to moving subjects in what little light there was so it was 1/4 second at ISO 400 with predictable results. Despite the blur and noise, to me it still recaptures the unrepeatable atmosphere of that icy cold morning.

- It is a completely preserved medieval mining town. The fate of Selmecbánya (Banská Štiavnica) has been closely linked to the exploitation of its abundant resources of silver ore. In the High and Late Middle Ages, the town was the main producer of silver and gold in the Kingdom of Hungary. The town was called “terra banensium” (the land of miners) as early as in 1156. The original Hungarian population was joined by skilled German settlers who started arriving in the 13th century. Selmecbánya/Banská Štiavnica gained the status of a royal town in 1238, as one of the first towns in the Kingdom of Hungary. During the Ottoman Wars, the Turks made concerted efforts to conquer rich mining towns in Upper Hungary. This new threat led Selmecbánya (Banská Štiavnica) to build powerful fortifications, including two castles, in the 16th century. As one of the most important centers of Protestant Reformation in the country, the town belonged to the Protestant "League of Seven Mining Towns". The town was also a foremost center of innovation in mining industry. In 1627, gun powder was used here for the first time in the world in a mine. In 1735, the first mining school in the Kingdom of Hungary was founded here. In the years 1762-1770, the Hofkammer in Vienna, with support from Queen Maria Theresa, transformed the school into the famous Mining Academy, creating the first technical university in the world. In 1919, after the creation of Czechoslovakia, the Academy was moved to Sopron in Hungary. In 1782 Selmecbánya (Banská Štiavnica) was the third biggest town in the Kingdom of Hungary (with 23,192 or incl. suburbs 40,000 inhabitants), after Pozsony (today Bratislava) and Debrecen. But the town’s development was too closely linked to the mining activity which had been progressively declining since the second half of the 19th century.

I've checked the manual, read the FAQs and raised a support query but, frankly, I don't think this is a known issue.

Technic!

Enjoy :)

Messing around with a technic frame for larger mech legs, but before I went to far I wanted to make sure I could cover the technic skeleton efficiently. This is what I came up with, it may be slightly rough if your a Lego by math kinda guy, but it's solid when assembled and that's good enough for me.

I know there are probably other ways of doing this such as with inverted 90 degree brackets and technic bricks (not beams).

Additional note: If you replace the tile on the two stud wide side with two plates and and put a 3 wide plate centred to the single stud side if forms a fairly perfect SNOT rectangle. Didn't show an example of that in the picture so you'll have to take my word for it or try it yourself.

Still not sure if it will be useful to me but thought I would share anyway.

"Listen again our legend... of the Bionicle."

Statue of a turaga telling the tale.

Made this about 2 years ago for a lego statue contest my LUG was holding. Forgot to photoshoot it then, and later I had too much stress over studies to do it. Seems oddly fitting to upload it now with Bionicle 20th anniversary coming this year.

Technically this isn't a telehandler, as its arm doesn't telescope but what else to call it? :D

Awhagaro is an ancient legendary warrior who has been protecting his homeland for centuries. He wields the elements of lightning, air and ice.

Awhagaro only appears when the island is in great danger and no one has ever seen him in peaceful time, so it’s still unknown if he actually exists or is just a legend made up by the island’s inhabitants to intimidate the ones who wish to invade the island. His origins are unknown as well, but some say that Awhagaro is a kaita comprised of a Toa of lightning, a Toa of air and a Toa of ice who somehow got stuck in the combined form, which explains his ability to wield three elements at once and his extraordinarily long lifespan.

Technic Citroën 2CV Charleston.

This is a heavy MOD of Nico71's version. I bought his instruction and started modding it so it resembles the real car better. Still not perfect :)

The roof line is just 1 stud wide and runs more smoothly.

HOG steering.

seats are different and the front seat have been moved 1 stud backwards and the back seat 2 studs backwards.

And a lot of detail modifications, like the bumpers, door color line.

Just like the original is has steering, ultra soft suspension and opening doors, hood and trunk.

I should have given the film a bit more speed or a bit longer in the second developer bath. But you know I'm okay with this dark moody look and feel. I took a bit of work in post processing to get some details out, but overall, it looks like Tech Pan!
