The Three King Steam Meeting in adventurous conditions. Now water is being collected again. Where can you do that? There are no more water filling stations on the line we drove. The fire brigade your friend and helper. As a reward we get some hand snapshots for free.

It turned out when they got to their destination we were at the same gate. I shared this shot with them and we all had a good laugh.

Ladies making pots at the Thanh Ha Pottery Village. During the 16th and 17th Centuries this village was renowned for its earthenware and products, such as bricks, roof and floor tiles, which are featured in the old buildings of Hoi An.

While making her own pots one lady uses her foot to turn the potters wheel of the other potter :-)

MAINZ, Germany - Soldiers from U.S. Army Europe assist with the loading of rail cars during USAREUR’s Contingency Command Post (CCP) deployment operations for Saber Guardian 2014. The CCP, established as a rapidly deploying, forward command and control element in support of missions directed by USAREUR, is currently preparing for Saber Guardian 2014. The training, held in the Republic of Bulgaria, is a USAREUR-led multinational exercise designed to strengthen international government agencies and military partnering. The exercise will further strengthen interoperability between NATO and partner nations involved in foreign consequence management operations with U.S. forces and foster trust between regional partner military forces. Personnel from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belgium, Bulgaria, Georgia, Moldova, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Ukraine, Turkey and the U.S., as well as representatives from NATO, will participate in the exercise. This group hauled a big hose all over the baseball diamond before the game and sprayed down the dirt. Who knew it took 6 guys to water the lawn? Definately some teamwork going on here, and not the kind you'd expect at a baseball game ;-)

More cars should have inspirational messages on them.

Model: Miss Marizza

Strobist info: SB800 with CTO gel through umbrella from camera right and above. SB600 behind the Model pointed at the back wall. Golden reflector on the left behind Model; wanted to use another flash for that - but instead of buying a SB26 with the built in optical slave I accidentally bought a SB28.

CPT John Bryant, from 172nd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, plans scenarios with his Romanian counterpart, Capt Bogdan Nicolaescu from the 26th Infantry Battalion of the Romanian Land Forces, during Saber Guardian 2013, a U.S. European Command Black Sea regional exercise planned and executed by Romanian Land Forces and U.S. Army Europe. This is the first time these Black Sea regional countries (Romania, Bulgaria, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Republic of Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine) have come together to train and exercise their battlestaff and command post procedures at one location. Serbian and Polish Land Forces are also participating to enhance their relationships with these Black Sea countries. There are more than 150 training audience members, support staff and contractors supporting the training at the Romanian Land Forces Combat Training Center in Cincu, Romania from 15-25 April. A couple of competitors at the Canadian National Police Dog Championships... held here over the weekend. Most of the dogs had trouble with this jump... and their partners assisted in various ways.

Too bad the quality of the photo's so poor (taken from a significant distance). Still... I love the half man, half beast effect.

It was also really good to see (as German shepherd people) that even these highly-trained professional dogs aren't perfect in terms of their obedience, etc. Some of the best moments of the day involved dogs who repeatedly refused to go over or through things... and had the crowd in hysterics.

Group of workers fixing the stairs which lead to the White Pagoda in the Bai Hai Park in Beijing.

Six workers to move one stone? When I worked in a construction company, during my highschool vacations, we also needed two people and two fancy clamps to move one curb stone. This block here looks two to three times bigger. If they would have had a forklift they could not have used it because it was a steep hill accessible only by stairs.

Given the situation this way of lifting is the most flexible and fastest way.

As an independent film maker, I usually have to do most of the work myself - including, but not limited to: Director, actor, key grip, script, director of photography and director of audiography, as well as camera assistant and production assistant.

Equipment: Canon EOS 550D with 24-105mm f/4.0 L lens, RØDE NTG2 with boompole and H4n Zoom recorder, a halogen floodlight, CN-126 ledpanel, photo umbrella, reflector, and a home made camera rig (Easy Go). Also various tripods.

I made this picture by combining 10 layers of pictures, taken by Anders Øvergaard with a Canon EOS 5D with a 24-70 f/2.8 L lens.
