TEAMWORK - Helen's Angels (from left) Lisa Gadsberry, Kim Chambers, DeDe Taylor and Ann Jolley raised more than $12,000 for breast cancer research and charities to participate in the Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure. Jolley was chosen to carry a flag in the opening and closing ceremonies. Forty-five cancer survivors were recommended for the honor and only eight were chosen. She said she feels 10 years younger having participated in the uplifting event.

Bridge Project

Green ants, Oecophylla smargdina, form chains of their own bodies to pull together leaves to make their nest. Here they are dragging on macadamia leaves - very tough, rigid spiky leaves.

When dealing with steelhead having an extra hand and a net is priceless. All fish were carefully handled and quickly released. Anglers: Jessie Hollenbeck and Andy Borden.

A man named Luis has these young folks working on their soccer skills and is looking to get them in a league. This is totally a volunteer operation with no organization funding it and very impressive for the work it does.

I've been seeing them out there and meaning to stop, but I finally did tonight.

These pictures aren't great because A) I'm not a sports photographer B) My 55-200mm lens is too slow for the evening light -- it was already getting dark. C) I accidently left the stabilizer off on the lens. Doh.

So, fairly high ISO shots, but fun none the less.
