One of the popular singing artists the kids are listening to these days is a talented entity that calls itself "Busted." The name seems a bit odd, since one might think, they were broken, or the police would arrest them for some reason. Anyway, this talented group has ended up somehow in the notebook of my student. Here's the lyrics in their entirety.
I'm fairly certain this student has a lite understanding of them at best--and that's a very good thing.
The irony of these charm-school girls having anything to do with the swagger of so-called urban artists in the US is immense!

A very talented artist - Camille Engel, used one of my photos (below) as a reference for a painting she did (above). She was kind enough to ask for permission first and sent me a scan of the final prouct. I think the painting came out better than the original photo. You can see more of her work at:

BTW - I did a program for an elementary school (K-5) last week as a part of their program of "Everyone's An Artist." Lots of fun and each kid had to endure a 20 minute talk/slideshow that I gave on the history of photography and then take one photo of a scene that was set up with stuffed animals and flowers. The best of each class (as voted by the students) were selected and I was asked to pick the best of the best. It was hard to chose, but the best (IMHO) turned out to be taken by a child in Kindergarten! Creative, well-composed and interesting.
I can't wait to see how she turns out. I hope to have a link to the story in the newspaper in a few days.

This is another Small watercolor that I painted,I had to crop it.
the whole thing showed a tea pot in the corner of a table,I liked the photo that I had for reference,but just couldn't do it right.
So,Crop it was the only solution i found to make it look just ok,not nice but ok...LOL
well,it's good to at least get the brushes wet!!!

On the weekend I finally met the incredibly beautiful and talented Kiara Rose. It still baffles me how you can meet an internet in real life for the first time, yet it truly feels like you have known them for years. It definitely felt that way with Kiara. We spent the weekend sharing stories (and links to things), looking through old flickr profiles and images and reminiscing about "the old days" of the Flickr life (aka. secretly obsessing over photos and flickr/internet friends in far off countries).
I feel so, incredibly inspired to delve into the creative world again (oh how I have missed you) and take many photos and make many films along the way. - I also have some very exciting plans coming up, which are going to result in some pretty amazing images and films!
This photo was taken on Kiara's last day in Brisbane before she jet-setted off to Vietnam. We spent the day in her home town on the Gold Coast - walking along the beautiful beaches, getting our feet wet, our hair salty and enjoying the warm (hot) spring day (oh and laughing at every typical Australian we saw in Surfers Paradise). It was such a joyous day.

Adam earned his Bachelors of Science Degree in International Business and Marketing from the University of Utah. He was hand-picked by the President of the University’s renowned School of Business to compete with dozens of other ambitious nationwide-graduates for the opportunity to secure a lucrative job within a prestigious Fortune 100 company.
Adam‘s hard work and creativity helped him land this job of a lifetime. He obtained incredible business experience there and spent years innovating, improving processes and setting sales records. Although this dream job in Traditional Corporate America was a fun challenge for him, and something he truly enjoyed mastering, Adam’s natural entrepreneurial spirit kept nudging him to do something more significant with his time and talents.
Since 2001, Adam has been involved in the Health and Wellness Industry as a successful Entrepreneur, Broker, Product Developer and Manufacturer of Cosmeceutical products. During his career, he has worked with some of the most recognizable Fortune 500 businesses along with many top international Network Marketing companies. Adam has consistently proven his unique ability to help his clients achieve their goals through creative Distribution-Channel Placement, innovative Product Development and custom Manufacturing. Adam currently owns three profitable businesses.
Admittedly, Adam was not initially a fan of Network Marketing. He did not understand the business model because it was new to him. However, once he learned that the REAL focus of Direct Sales is to help average people get a taste of entrepreneurialism --- with minimal risk and at a low cost --- Adam was absolutely convinced of the potential with Multi-Level Marketing.
Since joining the company as one of the original 11 founding distributors, Adam has discovered that many of his life-goals truly do align perfectly with Network Marketing. Adam enjoys helping others find significance. Adam is most grateful for the complete time-freedom he has with his fantastic wife and five children.
