After the storm....beautiful clouds

One of my favorite falls in Upstate South Carolina to shoot.

Located on private property and yet unnamed by the landowner and his family who have owned the property for over 100 years.

Taken on hwy 11 , northern Greenville Country, S.C. Looks best when viewed large.

Nice little loop hike with a waterfall and follows Carrick Creek for most of the way.

Lower Table Rock, with pear orchard. there are 2 table rocks, Upper and Lower. Up stream of the Rogue River (upper) and Down stream of the Rogue River (lower). on the map: www.google.com/maps/@42.4632259,-122.9346235,6387m/data=!... Upper is on the right, Lower is on the left.

they're both 'U' shaped, this image is the most pronounced south-eastern edge. They are ancient Lava flows, read the Wikipedia about them, fascinating.

This composite of the total solar eclipse's phases throughout the event was put together from shots taken on August 21, 2017 on the summit of Table Rock in Table Rock State Park, South Carolina. The solar filter combined with the cloudy conditions give this photo a moody orange, fiery glow.

Table Rock Located between downtown Boise and the foothills, table rock is a rock surface with multiple caves and ledges and overlooks the treasure valley area, which makes it a safe yet adventurous location for people of all ages.

This is the complete branding for our upcoming youth series OUTER LIMITS. Each sermon is built around a crazy story that happened in the book of acts. Our goal was to build a sci-fi world based on these stories that would suck the students in, without out them overtly knowing it was about the bible.

I'd love it if you'd look through the sites and tell me what you think. This whole thing is unlike anything we've attempted before at TRF.

It was for the most part a grey day. But there were auspicious moments when the cloud cover became less uniform and the sun broke through with a kind of winter paleness.

I continue to be impressed with the dynamic range and clean shadow detail the D600 captures, for those who are interested.

This is the Orchard at Altapass along the Blue Ridge Parkway in North Carolina. This is an HDR, my first real attempt at using HDR on a sunrise/sunset. I'm not totally pleased with it, but it is a fair representation of how it looked that morning, which is how I usually decide if the HDR is "right". I'll let you guys be the judge as to whether I need to revisit this one. I am tired of working with it, so here it is!

Sit Back and Enjoy the View

The couple who had this beauty named her "Mango" for her rich Orange texture, and I think it suited her perfectly.

I saw these beautiful wildflowers growing along a path to a pond near Table Rock, South Carolina. They are on a vine with fine thorns. They are called Mimosa Microphylla, but they have the common name Little-leaf sensitive brier.

A lot of the topmost rhododendrons appear to have gotten a little frostbitten during the last cold spell. These were still looking good down the side a bit.

More impressive than the blood moon!

A hawk (I think) soaring over the countryside in Greenville. This was taken at Caesars Head State Park, from just near the overlook. It was a really hazy day, so I was happy to get this! In the distance is Table Rock State Park.

Mounted the Go Pro to our jet ski while on vacation. I think I have a bit of a Rocky face here.

Table Rock is a 2.5 mile heavily trafficked out and back trail located near Boise, ID that offers scenic views and is rated as moderate.

Had a wander out along one of the decrepit concrete walkways out onto the rocks. Got a bit too close to the incoming tide, legged it back to shore.

This is Table Rock Mountain, perhaps the most spectacular natural feature of South Carolina (except for the Atlantic Ocean!). I enhanced this photo a bit. Sorry about the utility wires.

I cannot find a good web article on this mountain.

Time for something Idaho-ish! This one is from a few months back, taken along a gravel road that branches out from the well-traveled path up to Table Rock. The road goes along what I imagine is quite a pretty vineyard by now, but back in March was very stick-like. I loved the light and clouds at this time of day, though, and combined with the great curve to the road, I had to snap a shot.

Typical single exposure split into 5 TIFFs and processed with Photomatix. Oddly enough, I did shoot this one in "true" HDR, but I didn't like the tonemapped results of the bracketed shots as much as I did the single exposure...possibly because I did my brackets handheld. I should carry a tripod more often. Alas. I am lazy.

Targhee National Forest....rainy hike but one of the most beautiful i've ever been on.

This is a shot looking toward Tablerock early this morning from the Blue Ridge Parkway! I got up at 4:30 this morning to get up to the Parkway to catch this shot, hope you appreciate it!! :)

I know of at least one person who appreciates that I showed up this morning, a lady in Spruce Pine dropped her NC Driver's License, Debit Card, and Lighter at this pull out the night before. After I finished shooting Crabtree I put her address into the GPS and headed to her house to drop off her lost items, guess what she said, "Thank God you found my lighter, I had to light my cigarette with the stove!!" Go figure?
