This was taken early morning before going to the camp site. The pics on the comment box were taken by my kids, Jerald (11y) and Moriel (8y), using their Panasonic point and shoot camera. They probably composed the pictures better. :)

Sunset view of Upper Table Rock's western edge from Lower Table Rock--gives a good sense of the thickness of the volcanic rock that makes up the mesa, as well as the amount of erosion ongoing, just look at piles of rock at the bottom of the cliff
I photographed this bird at Tablerock lake near Blue Eye, MO. It was jumping up and down from this perch to catch bugs in the grass.
...Fake IR, that is :) Since I don't have a real IR lens, I thought of producing an image with an IR look using Photoshop and here's the result. Not sure if I was successful but I like it :) Whaddyathink? See comment box for the original unedited image.

Psalm 62:1-2 My soul rests in God alone. My salvation is from him. He alone is my rock, my salvation, and my fortress. I will never be greatly shaken. (World English Bible, public domain.)

Thank you for looking! Isn't God a great artist?
After a day to restore body and bike, 63-mile ride from Bandon to Gold Beach. A beautiful day along the coast. Caught up with fellow cyclists that I met in Pacific City.
TGIF!!!

This is the ridge at North Table Mountain Park above Golden, Colorado.
As last year, the first day of our trip to Colorado gave us sun and a brilliant blue sky. As for the rest of the week... .
Niagara Falls... The American Falls is one of three waterfalls that together are known as Niagara Falls on the Niagara River along the Canada–U.S. border.
Unlike the much larger Horseshoe Falls, of which two-thirds of the falls is located in Ontario,
Canada, and one-third in the US state of New York, the American Falls is entirely within the United States and New York.
I hike this mountain often but rarely make images from this lower lookout. I may stop on the way up or down just to take in the view, but nothing has inspired me to pull out the camera other than a pano image made several years ago. I've always found composing an interesting foreground difficult from this spot with several distractions poking into the scene. However, the vegetation below the cliff has grown quite a bit since my last attempt, creating a nice diagonal transition separating the foreground rock and valley in the distance. The idea of using it almost like a curtain to reveal the valley seemed to have potential.
I was playing with low-angle compositions using a 24-70 lens to emphasize the curtain concept when I noticed the clouds starting to catch light as the sun approached the gap on the horizon. I turned away briefly to switch lenses to a 14-35 to capture more of the sky, and when I returned the camera to the tripod, a rainbow had formed over the Hudson. With just enough time to bracket a few exposures, it began to fade, and the rain started pouring down. Although I was soaked, it was worth it to witness something you don't get to see every day.

One of the major Bridges located on beautiful Table Rock Lake. This bridge is located in Kimberling City in the heart of Table Rock Lake.
I've always wanted to capture my own version of this iconic Melbourne beach location. I was setup for some nice sunset photos of the beacon at Rickett's Point. This photo was completely unscripted - a young couple on a date wondered into my composition. They were so engrossed in the sunset and each other, that they didn't even realise I was there. When they did notice me, they were extremely apologetic, but I thought they added an extra dimension of romance to the composition.

The Old Idaho Penitentiary opened its doors in 1872 to some of the West’s most desperate criminals. Today, visitors can experience over 100 years of Idaho’s unique prison history with a visit to Solitary Confinement, cell blocks, and the Gallows.

The Horseshoe Falls, also known as the Canadian Falls, as most of it lies in Canada, is part of Niagara Falls, on the Niagara River.
