The arrival of another westbound stack train temporarily drowns out the whirring of the Nodding Donkey. In charge are four Union Pacific SD70M's 4943, 4972, 3784 and 8856.

My hubby took this photo of Table Rock State Park and I applied the tilt shift to it. I love tilt shift!!!!! What do you think?
p.s. Tilt shift gives images (or parts of images) a miniature effect. I love to try new things.........mix things up a little. :0)
Table Rock, Linville Gorge, NC
These are carolina rhododendron growing on the western side of Table Rock. I'd like to catch them with some sun hitting them just a bit but that doesn't happen in the morning hours.
Table Rock is a distinct peak in upstate South Carolina, and dare I say the most interesting mountain in the state. While it is stunning when view from below, a challenging but manageable trail climbs 2,200 feet in elevation for those who want to savor the views. Either way you prefer to enjoy Table Rock, I think this is a place everyone in the southeast should view at some point in their lifetimes.
Sunrise view from The Chimneys, Linville Gorge Wilderness Area. This view is looking out from underneath one of the "chimney" rock formations with blooming Carolina Rhododendron in the foreground.
This shot was taken on a sunrise photoshoot with my good friends Keith Clontz and Dale King.
Technical Info: Canon 5D MKII, Samyang 14mm f/2.8 ISO400 f/13. Three images merged in Photoshop using luminosity masks.
After a day to restore body and bike, 63-mile ride from Bandon to Gold Beach. A beautiful day along the coast. Caught up with fellow cyclists that I met in Pacific City.

The Horseshoe Falls, also known as the Canadian Falls, as most of it lies in Canada, is part of Niagara Falls, on the Niagara River.
Linville Gorge lies in western North Carolina. Though the popular Linville Falls lies not far off the Blue Ridge Parkway, accessing the spectacular gorge proper involves a much more adventurous drive. Nevertheless, it remains a very popular natural location in North Carolina, as trails along the top of the gorge feature spectacular views and rock formations, while trails in the gorge itself give you tremendous views of the stunning and dramatic rock walls of the gorge.
This image is a combination of two shots I took last week. Photoshop can put a truck on top of Table Rock with ease, failing that I think it would take a pretty big helicopter. I'm sure there never has been a vehicle anywhere near.
Table Rock, Central Point Oregon was considered the "center of the Universe" by the native Americans from the Rogue River Area.
I took this from Wiseman's View this morning just before sunrise. Last I read the wildfire had increased in size up to 1800 acres but I think that included the backfires that were being set by the firefighters.
Prayers to all the firefighters that are currently battling this...
Table Rock is a distinctive peak near the Linville Gorge of North Carolina, providing excellent hiking opportunities along part of the Mountains to Sea Trail. This shot taken from another section of that trail located on the Chimneys.
A view up Linville Gorge from Table Rock. This is a recently re-discovered shot I took from a visit in 2017. Linville Gorge is one of the best places in the East. In competition with the Smokies to become a national park for the East, it would have made a great addition to that system. As it is, it may have been a blessing that truly seeing the beauty of the gorge requires stepping off the beaten path a bit, avoiding the traffic a national park would bring.

Sunset lights the sky on fire over the Treasure Valley (Boise Area) as we enjoy the views just below Table Rock.

I've been going back through some of my images that I took a while back and using some of my updated photoshop techniques. This is one that I really liked and actually have a print of it hanging in my house, I was looking at the print and noticed it was rather dark so I thought I'd re-edit it.
This image was taken from Table Rock Mountain in the Linville Gorge on October 15th, 2009 just as the sun was rising.

Any constructive criticism is welcome.
After a strenuous hike up Table Rock near Medford OR, we were rewarded with a vast tableland of wildflowers!
I was really trying to get human silhouettes in the windows, but, of course, all the people who had been inside messing up my shots, were now outside with me. lol I love windows, especially those with character, and élan.
