C'est une machine très originale. Presse à cylindre et à pédale, les feuilles imprimées arrivent devant les yeux de l'imprimeur. Il manque les rouleaux.

My sky note is start!
Clearing out old computer, I discovered I did actually make a kind of finished Type 1 Postscript font years ago - presumably with Fontographer. Even more amazed to discover I can install it and use it in Mac OS 10.6.
This was inspired by punched paper tape after a visit to the Museum of Submarine Telegraphy in Porthcurno, Cornwall.

Maybe this photo could've been better without my...softcore attempt at Typography. I tried to figure what appeals but it seems like I need to take a class.
I know at the Boys & Girls Club, a summer program I go to in the...summer, offers graphic designing courses. They dumb it down so kids that are 6 can handle it.
I want to be a graphic designger. My parents want me to be something rich. Okay, I kind of want a job that involves computers... but I'm not good at math. I took a career test. It says I'm rather "creative" and gave me choices like an artist, an actress, a writer, a cinematographer, a skin care salesperson. WTF... O.O
I'm getting free ice cream tomorrow. What my school does is that it's offering its students candy and ice cream for just BEING there to do the STAR test. Yes, this is how a high school gets its API over 800.

Figuring out the weight, widths and overshoot of the extrabold weight. Caps are falling slowly into place.

Make Something Cool Every Day is a personal, (ideally-) daily design exercise wherein I churn out type-centric black and white drabbles using song titles, the Univers type family (Kozuka Gothic for Japanese type) and some wonderful images from Wikimedia Commons.
2. Fonts such as Garamond, Helvetica, Universe, etc were traced onto a tracing sheet for lettering and font analysis.
3. Criticisms from professors and colleagues, scanned copies of test papers, and any revisions made along the process of making the book were printed on coloured papers.
4. I overlapped Helvetica and Universe, fonts that I usually thought are very similar, to compare and find any contrasting features.
An interesting bit of lettering from a DPO document from the 1960s -- Brush Script on the top line, and then an uncharacteristically exuberant and blobby hand-lettered DPO title. This is very stylish (or, just as likely, insane) for a planning document, let me tell you.
My first tryout in making a typography graphic. I kind of like this one, so I'll probably make more typographies using Glee song lyrics & quotes. I make this a little grungy because the song is kind of rock-ish, so yeah.
This poster titled “ABC TYPOGRAPHY” was printed on a Canon Image Press C7000VP (digital) with 100 lb. paper stock and a soft gloss finish. A limited run of only 50 were printed.
