The previous typography class had a project where they had to create a portrait of a famous person made of only typographic characters. When my typography class wasn't assigned that project, I went ahead and created one on my own time because I already had in mind who I wanted to make a portrait of.
I'm obsessed with Chalkboard Typography these days. Unfortunately I've spent more time creating the graphics on our Holiday Newsletter....than I have writing it. It will be later than ever this year - OOPS.
Class: Typography 1; Level: Sophomore; Project: Grid Based Typeface; Instructors: Levi Hammett, Titus Nemeth.
A project where students worked in teams to create low resolution typefaces composed of found grids in their every-day environment. This poster features the work of all 22 students in the class and was designed by Levi Hammett.

A good typographic system, with an optimal contrast between different types of content, headlines, sub headlines, paragraphs, labels and so forth. However, having too many styles and weights within a layout is not recommended either.
I hand made these 3D letters out of card for my graphic design project on typography. I experimented with composition and typefaces.
