Transcendence by Daniel Arrhakis (2015)
In the temple blew a gentle breeze whispering in the ears of the Empress weeping of sadness ...
- Never forget that love lives in your heart ... Empress ... one day will transform into light that will remove forever the darkness ...

It has been a while since the last figbarf! Fresh parts arrived earlier this week and I got into some kind of super flow after that! I've tried to come up with unheard and unseen lore names, but forgive me if I'm repeating anything existing; I haven't watched the show in several years. Nevertheless, I'm still a little ninja at heart, and I had a blast pushing my own limits with this figbarf! :)
Let me know what you think of them, and if you have a favourite!
Transcendence - Tennessee Appalachian Mountains Sunset Scenic Landscape Photography
Sunset along the Appalachian Trail in the Roan Mountain Highlands near the border of Tennessee and North Carolina. Leading photography workshops for the spring flowers in the Southern Appalachian mountains this year inevitably took me to Jane Bald for a few evenings and I couldn't resist grabbing a quick handheld shot of this great light when it happened. Hope you enjoy the view! :)
Single exposure with a Nikon D800 w/ 17-35mm f/2.8

I find garden centres strangely attractive. Not because of the plants. It is because of the religious merchandise that is relentlessly accumulating in these centres like flotsam washed up on the beach. Naturally, we are dealing with business here. But why would people put a sculpture of a tenth century Chinese monk of the Zen tradition in their garden? Perhaps that beach is not really dead and anodyne like Matthew Arnold's poem "On Dover Beach" has it, but a pretty fertile spiritual marketplace. Perhaps our gardens too are not simply ecological alternatives, but symbolic alternatives as well, pointing to a different life and world.

Transcendence sees the dual Perceptions of Reality by Sight and Reality by Faith .. Quote Mrs Happy Face

Transcendence (Orchestral)- Lindsey Stirling
No pares de quererme.
Don't stop loving me.
.... It was the most beautiful and happy heart I had ever seen or felt. As sweet as an orange, overflowing with love like a child, and crammed with a joy that infected. He was so big that they did not put a face on him and everything "floated" and "gushed" happily around him ... We only saw him and me.
N'arrête pas de m'aimer.
Abbiamo visto solo lui e me.

I have returned from a 12 day journey across Tanzania's Serengeti. Each time I return, I leave some small part of me there, and yet some small part of Tanzania returns with me. Of all the photos I took while there this one stands out as one of my favorites. It captures the awe inspiring, magical spirit of the Serengeti with elegant simplicity.
Just after sunrise, on a cloudy morning, a break in the clouds allows a shaft of light to illuminate the distant hills across the northern Serengeti plains. A Lappet-faced vulture sits atop an acacia while another soars silently above the plain. A single topi stands alone across miles of open wilderness. A cool moist breeze blows silently across the vast open space, and for a moment I feel my heart skip a beat. My spirit soars along with this great bird across this awesomeness of open space. I must bring this with me, I think. I must carry a part of this with me through the safari of life. I must remember this moment and somehow return to this place of transcendence.
This isn't one of the major beaches at Oly with seastacks and whatnot, but for it lacks in formations it made up with intimacy. One of the most romantic nights of the trip, pure transcendence.
A moment of transcendence captured to perfection.
I stood entranced with this work, the way the sculpture has captured this dancer at the absolute pinnacle of their artistic ability, both physically and mentally. It really was a joy to behold, if I could have brought it home I don't think I would have ever tired of it. I hope you feel the same.
Have a great weekend all, may it be full of wonder X

Left home 1am to catch the Glacier Point sunrise at 6am since its the first time in two years the road opens again. It was a peaceful to see morning light on Half Doom, Liberty Cap, Vernal Fall and Nevada Falls and the best view of the entire Yosemite Valley. Can’t wait to return again soon.

Hey at least they left the gate open. ;-)
Image Notes: some more astute members noticed I posted a D700 image a couple of postings ago and wondered if I have moved into full-frame. I dropped my D300 over the holiday and it is off for repairs at the end of this week. With multiple photo projects that needed to continue unabated, I was forced to get a backup body and got a D700. This image is a blend of two exposures (manually with luminance masks). I am fully amazed by the dynamic range and low noise on the D700, in a word wow!
Early morning off the Southern California coastline near Santa Catalina Island. The image was created in-camera on film, no photo retouching, just the way it appeared in the wild. The serenity of the image belies the challenge of getting the shot -- the boat and subject are moving, light conditions were low, and keeping my own reflection out of the frame, as I am perched over the bow looking straight down with a 24mm wide-angle lens.
