Transcendence.

I had a lovely time today running around on random adventures with this lovely lady. After all of that I babysat/hung out with some great kids. Today was stellar. I ended the day listening to Adele, editing, and eating a nice big bowl of frozen mangos.

I woke up this morning in a fog, so I took some pictures of it.

Transcendence. Soul structure.

The bridge becomes part of our nature—

sunlight breathing through its warmed steel.

The Wyoming Basins and their stark beauty beckon to my inner landscape photographer. These vast spaces often feature turbulent skies such as this, with the lighting changing by the minute. It sort of amazes me that we don't see more photographers taking advantage, maybe the wind chases em' away. ;-)

Image Notes: Two manually blended handheld frames, one at -1/3 EV for the foreground and one at -2 EV for sky. I find that the typical 7-shot HDR blends tend to butcher skies like this and so nearly always default to hand-blending or ND Grads if I want to preserve cloud detail like I did here.

Art, love and death are three ways of redemption. The life of an artist in search of the absolute is enclosed in this triangle. It is up to him to find his way towards the transcendence of his humanity / THE FINAL / CHRISTELLE GEISER & AEON VON ZARK / NAKED EYE PROJECT BIENNE / ALTERED STATE SERIE / THE WEIRD DREAM / PORTRAIT.

Apologies for the vintage filter, but this is a kinda flashback to childhood play on my bedroom floor with the Trek Megos and Muton/Cyborg/Android/Dr Who Denys Fisher toys...

After an epic battle with Android and Muton's subforms, Cyborg lies drained... but Muton seems victorious; he has his hands on the alien Transcendence Device and with its untold energies flowing into him his evil will surely be unstoppable now - already his form is now beyond death.

But Cyborg's allies have a plan. With Spock monitoring the energy levels for a precise instant of vulnerability, the Doctor hastily connects the Device's power supply to that powering the planet's forcefield - which has kept help from the Enterprise at bay. Muton gladly absorbs the extra rush of power as the forcefield flickers and fades; for not even a volley of photon torpedoes could hurt his undying form now...

Kirk has the Enterprise transporter lock onto Muton, ready to beam him into the cold depths of space... but the alien laughs; even before 'transcendence' the vacuum of space was nothing to him...

"Energise, Mr Scott," Kirk orders, "maximum dispersal!"

There's a brief realisation of horror and failure on Muton's twisted face before his atoms are scattered far and wide across this corner of the cosmos.

But is even that enough to bring an end to the terror that is Muton?

I just had a dream come true.

Ten years of thinking how best to shoot from this location.

i am not complaining.

Blew my mind.

Captured in my previous photograph, "Transcendence 1," this is a second look at that room on the 91st Floor of SUMMIT One Vanderbilt. As I wrote earlier, "Located on top of Grand Central Station, SUMMIT is one of a number of sites in New York (such as The Edge and Top of the Rock) that enables you to see New York City and its surroundings from high elevations. And SUMMIT adds glass and mirrors, which heighten the effects even further." With the variety of people who pass through this room, and the glass and mirrors, the photographic possibilities are literally endless.

Image developed in the darkroom on Ilford pearl paper and then placed in blue toner. This is my favourite toner I have used so far such a beautiful deep blue that reminds me of the ocean and the dark and light tones still come through perfectly.

Here's my Smart Doll Estella ("Transcendence") looking vaguely creepy. Happy Spooky Season!

[Edit: I uploaded a brighter picture.

I have a big problem with the laptop I'm working on. The picture looks great, I upload it and on a different device it looks completly dark. The colors, the contrast and brightness are completly different. And we tried to change the settings of the screen, but nothing helped. So sometimes, I need to reupload, sorry...]
