The top tube of my fixed gear bike broke. I bought the bike in 1987. I guess I got my money's worth.
I was riding yesterday and the frame felt oddly squirrely. And this evening the whole front end shimmied like crazy, but because it was dark I didn't notice the break in the top tube until I was within a half mile of home.
To Georgie: It's probably a good thing that I didn't try standing on this top tube this evening :-)
I don’t think Collectif makes these gathered skirts anymore, which is why I nabbed this one as soon as I saw it on Vinted. Helpfully, there’s a bit of stretch in the waistband. Alas, such accommodations are required a bit more often these days…!
I think I have one of these posted here on Flickr. But I found the files with old pictures. This is from 10 or maybe 12 years ago. The cherry was in a cherry limeade from Sonic and I decided to do a little teasing with it. If I can find it I also made a video of me teasing the cherry...
This is a box that I made for my wife for Christmas. Although she is a westerner, she speaks Vietnamese, and her viet name is Yến, which means Swallow. For this reason, I put a small inlay of a barn swallow in the bottom left corner of the top of the box.
This was my first attempt at using an inlay. I cut the shape from a mother of pearl blank, and then used a mini-router (dremel) to cut the pocket for the inlay.
The box measures roughly 10"x16"x6". The sides are rosewood (Dalbergia nigra), the top is American Black Walnut (Juglans nigra) with a maple (Acer rubrum) and Bloodwood (Brosimum rubescens ) frame. The bottom of the box (although you can't see it) is cedar (Thuja plicata).
The hinges on the back are brass, and are pocketed in small mortises.
I finished the box with about 10 coats of wipe on poly that was then sanded to p2500 grit, and then buffed to a piano-like shine. I will add a wax later this week.
The photos don't do the irridescent top justice. The chatoyancy of the figured black walnut and the bloodwood is outstanding.
I still have some work to do with the inside, and there are a few small mistakes, but overall I am pleased with this box.
This is the spray bottle of the stuff we spritz around the plants so the cat won't scratch at the dirt. It doesn't work very well.

So, this is a table, made, based on the special made unique sketch. Table top frame, waived legs.
New pine wood, hand carved in rustic style. Painted by natural handmade paint, wood finish - based on the natural beeswax.
This table has leather pads on the legs, for safe using on the floor. Really, one of a kind, beautiful modern table, with rustic character in it.

Top was born between Tran ♂ (1985-2004) and Lip ♀ (1992-2010) at the Ueno Zoological Gardens on the 20th of August 1997. He had been at Zoorasia for a long time but now he came back to his home. He is now 14 years old. His parents were both from zoos in Germany by the way... He is related to Deru ♀ @ Zoorasia.
I pass by this wonderful specimen often to get out on my coastline walks. Felt it was time to honour it.

This was from my flu day in my hotel room in Vienna, I can't just do nothing so i rearranged the furniture and spent time setting up a series of Images, I think it worked out to be about 9 photos taken over the space of 4 hours.
I also ate alot of fruit and drunk a few gallons of water over the day and some how managed to get over the worst of the Flu in that one day.
