Apart from the climbing, which was world class, this holiday adventure had everything. Sue finally left on the overland train from Calgary to Montreal and a flight home. I headed south to Sante Fe, New Mexico. That's another story.
Looking directly south from my parents' yard. My hometown sits in a river valley between the Sand Hills to the north and an expanse of hills and canyons to the south. The large hill is locally called "Flat Top," even though I've been to the top of it and it's not flat. The thin, dark line of trees at the boundary between the light and dark land is the North Platte River (the only place trees grow naturally in the area).
