The Bearded Tit is one of those in every sense. The display season is now over, but they are more visible in the winter than in the summer, mainly feeding on reed seeds at the top of the reed bed, rather than insects lurking below.

Those antlers can't be as heavy as they look otherwise this Fallow Buck would never be able to raise his head from grazing!!😁
Sometimes just “going for it” pays off. BNSF Railway’s new America 250 units are some of the best around, and when I heard they were going to run from Topeka up to Dickinson, N.D. via Willmar, Minn. I thought I would try to catch a few shots of them. The train, with the greatest train symbol of all time, the O-TOPDIC8-024A (or more simply, Top Dick) was supposed to get into Willmar in early evening, so I figured I would drive that direction and try to intercept. A couple of factors worked against this: there were a lot of clouds around, and like trains do, it got later and later. Still with low expectations I figured I just go and see what I could get. I ended up driving almost to South Dakota, setting up at Jasper, Minn. since several folks where helping me out with updates and I knew the train was close. It wasn’t until after 6 pm I got my first shot, and it was under heavy overcast. Still, out to the west, it looked there was some blue. Maybe, I thought, as the evening went on the sun would drop below the clouds. So I kept pacing the train north along with a few other fans. As the train approached Marshall, Minn. I could see the sun starting to move below the clouds. Persistence pays, as just north of town the sun came out of the clouds and bathed the train in that great evening light. This shot, at Cottonwood, Minn. was very close – you can see the trucks are just barely still in sun. I paced the train until sundown then headed back. Thanks to those few shots at the end of the day, I declared that for that day at least, I was the TOP DICK!
I bet if you are in the city you really either love having a balcony or roof deck or really wish you had one. Magnificent Monday to you.
Does not show it, but very windy, and choppy seas. Not sure the whale tail was worth it 😱 Too rough for my taste 😠 But, you never know, he/she might have been breaching. Both of these tail images have been submitted to "Happy Whales", so should get ID info when they match it to their data base.

March, coming, the beauty that surrounds us in everything for those willing to see.
Most of them have never seen the light of day, because my flower photography has overtaken my world somewhat.
And much as I love it, my ‘other’ photography is as important to me.
So, here goes.
A sultry and hot Summer's day, light quite flat.
The lone tree on the top of the ridge of the hill did not look particularly big or strong, it wasn’t even leaning, no winds had bent it although this was quite near the coast of the North Sea, but no, still standing straight!
I often feel like that tree...
Have a lovely day and thank you for viewing, M, (*_*)

Another from the way-way back machine of my archives, this image harkens back to my film days sometime in the late 90's, digitized a few years back. Original image was shot with an Olympus OM-1 and a Tamrom 90mm ƒ2.8 Adaptall mount.
It took an equal mixture of determination and stupidity to get to the summit of Chrome Hill for a 4.40am sunrise.
it was quite breezy on top, but in sheltered parts of the valley there was still a bit of low mist (top right)
One of the best specs I've seen on this car. The red soft top roof went well with the blue/silver body paint.
