The entrance is there

Who have you invited in as your loved ones, in the life you are living

Have you even dared think that your family may be not your true loved ones

Often they don't see you as a human being

They might see you as a cleaner in the house, a cook - only to full fill their own needs

If they do, and of course there are hopefully lots of exceptions

Then they only care about themselves, there aren't any room for you there

They are so full of themselves that they wouldn't even think of doing nice things for you

They are not worthy being called your loved ones, because you aren't their loved ones

Even tho they are family

It may actually be a stranger or a friend

Who sees you

Who appreciate your deeper self and

Your soul

The ones that see you and praise your inner being, is worthy to be called your loved ones

You thrive in their company

You look forward to being with them

They give you happiness

They give you love

They give you support

And you will grow as a human being

Being worthy is essential

Why should we bother use our time being an obedient servant, when we actually have a life to live

The entrance is there, perhaps you should kick some asses you too.

What comes in can go out, the same entrance.

I certainly did.

Did it hurt

The Walhalla

is a hall of fame that honours laudable and distinguished people in German history – "politicians, sovereigns, scientists and artists of the German tongue";

Built decades before the foundation of the modern German state in 1871 and the formation of a modern German identity, "German" was initially understood as "Germanic", and included ancient Germanic (Gothic, Vandal, Lombardic, Anglo-Saxon) as well as medieval Dutch, Swedish and Russian figures.

The hall is a neo-classical building above the Danube River, in Donaustauf, east of Regensburg in Bavaria.

The sunset mood

Once again after a hard rain in this valley .....the mist overall the river is escorting and the sky begins to explode. But the king of the scene is the almost invincible peak of Risser Falk in the Austrian alps.Sitting there for a while before the last sunsyas are gone.Respiring the freshness of this moment.....

Happy Macro Monday everyone!

This cube is part of a perpetual calendar I have, consisting of four cubes (weekday, 2x date, and month), its edge length is a little less than 1 cm (= about 0.3937007874 inches). I put it on a mirror and used a table-top tripod. Light sources were the ceiling light and a little bit of blue hour remaining light from the window.

The Olympic tower has a height, together with the antenna 291,28 meters and is not only the tallest structure in Munich, but also one of the most famous landmarks in the city, which, since opening, has been visited by over 43 million people.

Water drop over a water lily leaf after the rain. Not good day for flowers, too windy.

The other week, capturing this structure on Boscombe beach. An interesting subject for a long exposure if you get the tide right. I've went for an airy pastel feel, taken with a wide angled lens giving the impression that its floating out to sea.

I missed a gorgeous looking sunrise this morning, still got the hump!

The Vyne is a 16th-century country house outside Sherborne St John, Basingstoke, Hampshire. The house was originally built for Lord Sandys, King Henry VIII's Lord Chamberlain. Today, though much reduced in size, the house retains its Tudor chapel, with stained glass.

This former Tudor powerhouse turned 17th-century family home, set in gardens, woodlands and wetlands, is open to the public thanks to the National Trust.

The Old Bridge in Huntingdon (now part of Cambridgeshire, England) is a well-preserved medieval stone bridge over the River Great Ouse, connecting Huntingdon to Godmanchester.

The last sunset of 2014! Just caught a glimpse through the window and ran to get my camera.

The little birds are getting pretty cheeky now...and, pretty clever too......especially the chickadees and sparrows.

They've decided the bird bath is for jumping around in and having a good splash....as many as 9 at a time some days.....whereas, this fountain....is now the drinking water.

Well, every so often a little chickadee jumps under one of the waterfalls ... or splashes around in one of the small cups....but, mostly, they just duck their heads under the waterfall... or dip their heads several times into a bit of water in one of the small pools.

They are great entertainment.....

A lone flower bouquet sits on the ruins of the main hall of the church. As you can see the roof totally caved in and buried the main podium where the pastor preached and lead prayers. As we wandered in this empty space, I could see loose pieces of wood hanging peculiarly from the ceiling.

The Koppelpoort is a medieval gate in the Dutch city of Amersfoort, province of Utrecht. Completed around 1425, it combines land and water-gates, and is part of the second city wall of Amersfoort, which was constructed between 1380 and 1450.

The gate was built between 1380 and 1425 as part of the second city wall. The whole wall was completed around 1450. The gate was attacked in 1427 during the siege of the city. This attack was repelled.

The gate was opened and closed every day by the appointed raddraaiers, "wheel-turners". A minimum of twelve wheel-turners were collected morning and evening by several guards. It was an extremely dangerous task; if they did not begin walking simultaneously, then one could fall, dragging the rest along with often fatal results. Before the gate could come down, it had to be raised, to pull out the iron pins that held it in place. Only then could it come down. While the gate was going down, walking in the wheel grew ever easier and faster, and many people stumbled and broke their limbs. The koppelpoort was also never breached.

The Koppelpoort was given its current appearance during the restoration by Pierre Cuypers in 1885 and 1886. Among other things, Cuypers removed a step between the two gates and replaced it with a slope.

From 1969 to 1993 a puppet theater was situated in the gate.

The latest restoration was completed in 1996. It was carried out very cautiously, and with respect for the old building materials. For this the town of Amersfoort received the Europa Nostra Award.

The history of Carcassonne begins three hundred years before Christ, having reached its peak in the twelfth century, when they built the castle and the cathedral. In the seventeenth century, the city began to lose its prestige and went into decay. Only in the nineteenth century was it restored, La Cité Médiévale, intact and protected within 3 km of ramparts, on a hilltop in the south of France.

One of the many Staircases of the Chile House in Hamburg

The Chilehaus (Chile House) is a ten-story office building in Hamburg, Germany. It is located in the Kontorhausviertel. It is an exceptional example of the 1920s Brick Expressionism style of architecture. This large angular building is located on a site of approximately 6,000m², spanning the Fischertwiete Street in Hamburg. It was designed by the German architect Fritz Höger and finished in 1924.

The Chilehaus building is famed for its top, which is reminiscent of a ship's prow, and the facades, which meet at a very sharp angle at the corner of the Pumpen- and Niedernstrasse. The best view of the building is from the east. Because of the accentuated vertical elements and the recessed upper stories, as well as the curved facade on the Pumpen street, the building has, despite its enormous size, a touch of lightness.

The building has a reinforced concrete structure and has been built with the use of 4.8 million dark Oldenburg bricks.[1] The building is constructed on very difficult terrain, so to gain stability it was necessary to build on 16-meter-deep reinforced-concrete pilings.

The location's close vicinity to the Elbe River necessitated a specially sealed cellar, and heating equipment was constructed in a caisson that can float within the building, so the equipment can't be damaged in the event of flooding.

The sculptural elements in the staircases and on the facade were provided by the sculptor Richard Kuöhl.

The building hosts one of the few remaining working paternosters in the world.

History

The Chilehaus building was designed by the architect Fritz Höger and built between 1922 and 1924. It was commissioned by the shipping magnate Henry B. Sloman, who made his fortune trading saltpeter from Chile, hence the name Chile House. The cost of construction is difficult to determine, as the Chile House was built during the period of hyperinflation that struck Germany during the early 1920s, but is estimated to have been more than 10 million reichsmark.

The field where the paragliders float in to land with Jungfrau overlookimg the valley in the background is the quintessential view of Interlaken. What the image doesn't show is the 3 or 4 paragliders floating back and forth waiting their turn and the 6 - 8 that just launched themselves off the mountain top. It's a constant parade from morning to late afternoon/early evening of brilliantly colored parachutes.

26th October 2015 - A night time view of the historic Princes Dock in Liverpool (My office on the left..).

Princes Dock is mentioned in the novel Redburn, His First Voyage by Herman Melville (1849):

"In magnitude, cost and durability the docks of Liverpool surpass all others in the world... for miles you may walk along that riverside, passing dock after dock, like a chain of immense fortresses. Prince's Dock, of comparatively recent construction, is perhaps the largest of all and is well known to American sailors from the fact that it is mostly frequented by the American shipping."

It is also were the vast majority of American GI's first stepped foot onto English soil during the second world war. Princes Dock has long been known as an American shipping dock which has certain connotations for me as I work for an American shipping company that is based (at present) on that same dock.

All the men, aircraft, tanks and artillery not to mention the vast amounts of supplies to keep them all running came through this very dock in the early stages of the American participation of World War II.
