My third attempt at getting Stagecoach 10536 (SN16 ONA) in Women's Rugby World Cup wraps. I was done by cloud for my previous attempt just down the road, and this is really just a record shot as it pulls away from a stop along Christchurch Drive, Daventry. 7th May 2025.

Getting lucky

Hosting clothing swaps requires coordination and logistics, but the reward is worth it. Besides scoring new-to-me pieces for myself, I love seeing my guests find their own prizes.

I hosted my third clothing swap of the year. Despite prior closet cleanouts, even returning guests had plenty to donate. The swaps always end with delighted guests and lots of leftovers for charity.I’m not wearing anything from a swap, but the sweater, skirt, boots, and belt are all thrifted.

With a steady hand, Veronica prepares to measure out one-third of a cup of milk for her muffin recipe.

This Blythe doll is Bow Wow Trad. One of the suggestions for today’s theme was something divided into thirds, so baking came to mind. She’s in her Mini Verse Make It Mini kitchen. I purchased this at Target last December, and I recently received a recall notice because it comes with little plastic food parts and resin to use in combining them…the resin is the problem, in that it can cause respiratory and skin irritation. Since this is marketed towards children, I can see that it would be a concern. Anyway, I have no interest in the “making” part of this item, so I will just chuck the resin in the trash. Problem solved.

The tree pipit (Anthus trivialis) like this one, was one of the first birds I photographed and registered after buying better bird photography gear and getting even more interested in birds 4.5 years ago.

Although it is common in most of Norway, I have only seen and photographed it that first time, once more some months later, and then not until June this year when I took this photo.

It can be distinguished from the similar but slightly smaller meadow pipit (heipiplerke in Norwegian), by its heavier bill and greater contrast between its buff (yellowish-beige coloured) breast and white belly.

Tree pipits also more readily sit in trees, has a stronger call and a different and nicer song than the meadow pipit.

They winter in tropical Africa and return to their breeding grounds in May.

I was stood up by my friend for this moon rising photography shoot but I was still accompanied by a skunk. I think the skunk enjoyed it as much as me!

This Rapido Amaryllis has given me so much pleasure over the last few weeks.

This little falls is located on Third Vault Brook moments before you round the corner to the spectacular Third Vault Falls (featured in an earlier shot). I loved the carpet on all the rocks here. Just a beautiful gorge and brook.

I know quite certainly that I myself have no special talent; curiosity, obsession and dogged endurance, combined with self-criticism, have brought me to my ideas.

I was positioning my camera to get a shot of this skyscraper when a man was confused about directions and walking into my shot. I heard him pass behind me so I was able to react in time.

Then the third lion lift its head and looking at me as to ask…Okay are you happy now?…

I did not answer him :-((

They a little later they made a unsuccessful attempt to hunt and almost chased a Blue wildebeest strait through my bakkie.

It happened just to fast for me to get the bakkie at the right spot to capture any thing.
