Had a spare hour so I called in at Stonehenge to take a break in the sunshine. A few coaches came past including a CIE Tours Van Hool T-series; a new Highway Temsa in yet another different colour fleetname; an Excelsior Evotor on cruise work; a new Anderson Travel Futura and a Van Hool in a hurry.

- Bentley Motors was founded in England on January 18, 1919 by Walter Owen Bentley, known as W.O. Bentley or just "W.O." (1888–1971), manufacturer of luxury automobiles and Grand Tourers. He was previously known for his successful range of rotary aero-engines in World War I, the most famous being the Bentley BR1 as used in later versions of the Sopwith Camel.
- Rolls-Royce merged the Bentley line into its own in 1931, so that the Bentley marque became just a Rolls-Royce without the distinctive grille and with a lower price tag.
- The T-Series was Bentley's version of the Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow (badge-engineering with only a different radiator), being the first of the Crewe factory’s monocoque models.
- Though the T1 and Silver Shadow were essentially identical, the Silver Shadow was far and away the better seller of the two. (outsold its Bentley counterpart about 10 to 1), making the T1 a relatively rare find today.
- The T-Series T1 was available as this 4-door Saloon, as 4-door Saloon LWB (123.75 inch: 9 units built), as 2-door Saloon (1966-1970: 98 units built) and as specials: Drophead Coupé H.J. Mulliner Park Ward (1965-1970: 35 units built), Fixhead Coupé Pininfarina (only one (1) unit built) and Fixhead Coupé James Young (1965-1970: 15 units built).

The Goggomobil microcar was presented in Autumn 1954 by Hans Glas GmbH, Dingolfing, Bayern. Chief engineer was Karl Dompert.
The Goggomobil T250/T300 series was expanded with the T400 in October 1957.
A second front wiper came late 1956 for model year 1957.
In September 1957 the models received crank windows instead of sliding windows.
From March 1964 onwards the door hinges of all models were replaced to the front side of the doors (conventional way).
In 1966 the Glas company was bought by BMW, but the production of these microcars remained till 1969.

The MG T series began with the MG TA in 1936, replacing the PB. The TA was a larger car, three inches wider, and seven inches longer on a four and a half inch wider track. The previous advanced overhead-cam inline-four engine was by then not in use by any other production car was replaced by the MPJG OHV unit from the Wolseley 10, but with twin SU carburettors, modified camshaft and manifolding coupled to a four speed manual gearbox with syncromesh on the top two ratios .connected to the engine by a cork-faced clutch running in oil. Unlike the PB, hydraulic brakes were fitted with 9-inch (230 mm) drums.
Like the PB, most were two-seat open cars with a steel body on an ash frame. A bench-type seat was fitted with storage space behind.
in 1936 it cost £222 (£ 13,144 2024 eqv.) on the home market, the same as the PB.

The Bentley Mulsanne is a (performance) luxury car which was produced by Bentley Motors Limited from 1980 until 1992. Introduced in 1980 replacing the Bentley T series, the Mulsanne was the kissin cousin to the Rolls Royce Silver Spirit.
Launched simply as the Mulsanne, taking its name from the famous straight on the Le Mans 24 hour circuit, the Mulasnne was powered by a normally aspirated Bentley 6750cc V8 engine with aluminium alloy cylinder heads. Two SU carburettors. Although the original car was no slouch, in 1982 the normally aspirated Mulsanne was joined by the Mulsanne Turbo which featured a Garrett AiResearch turbocharger which provided a 50%. increase in engine power.
In 1987 both models were replaced in the Bentley line up, the Mulsanne by the normally aspirated Mulsanne S which would continue in production into 1992, with a further 970 cars built. The Mulsanne Turbo by the Bentley Turbo R

It was on my list for years to build a 5-wide, two minifigure light tank. A tank small enough to fit in with the 4-wide vehicles of a LEGO Classic Town setting.
This idea became these three vehicles, the LTS-1 (Light Tank System One) series: Two LTS-1R Recon Light Tanks and a LTS-1M Missile Tank. They turned out a bit too tall to look realistic, but fit in rather nicely with the tall and slim Classic Town vehicles.
These are obviously not modelled on any real life vehicles. But some inspiration was taken from the British CRV(T) series and the wheel setup turned out almost Tetrarch simple. The missile turret is a bit GI Joe Wolverine styled.

Type: Amazon 131-94 / P30 T-series
Engine: 1986cc straight-4 B-20 A
Power: 90 bhp / 4.800 rpm
Speed: 155 km/h
Production time: 1969 – 1970
Production time: 1968 – 1970 (all 131s)
Production outlet: 19,919
Production outlet: 50,316 (all 131’s)
Curb weight: 1096 kg
Special:
- The 100 Series was designed bij Jan Wilsgaard in 1956 and during production time improved, like this 131.
- At its launch VOLVO called this car "Amazon", until the German motorcycle manufacturer Kreidler, who had patented the name, objected. Even so, the (Swedish) public continued to use that name.
- The "boxiness automotive design" is very aerodynamic, very useful getting in and out, lots of space, low pollution of the side windows, low wind noise and small lift at high speeds.
- The bodywork was constructed of phosphate-treated steel (to improve paint adhesion) and with heavy use of undercoating and anti-corrosive oil treatment.
- It has a four-speed manual gearbox, a SU HS 6 carburettor (in the USA sold with double carburators), a 45 liter fuel tank, independent coil spring suspension, disc brakes at the front, drum brakes at the rear, dual circuit brake system with brake booster, safety belts for front and rear seats (standard), worm & roller steering, divided/collapsable steering column and rear wheel drive.
- An overdrive, a Borg-Warner automatic gearbox and front headrests were optional.
- On July 3, 1970 the last Volvo Amazon was produced (at some assembly factories like Halifax-Canada or Durban – South Africa production continues in 1970 until all parts were out of stock).

Although this model lacked its turbocharger, many of its other details were similar to the Turbo R, including that car's alloy wheels and interior, and the suspension was firmed up for a more sporting ride. The rectangular headlamps from the 1980s gave way to quad round units for 1989, and the model was produced until 1992.

29th September 2013 sees T series 1013 near Salford Quays, there was not long left for the class and the conditions were not the best
In 1959 artist Vegter van Slooten (1926- ) and his girlfriend Diny Vrieling (1937-2021) departed from Yde (Drenthe) for a long journey with their T300 to Cape Town, South Africa. It took them three years vice versa. 42.000 (other source says 53.000) km with 500 kilogram luggage, through desserts and tropical forests.
When finally back in the Netherlands they were offered a new Goggomobil TS-series Coupé by Goggomobil director Glaser because of their achievement.
Van Slooten still had his T300 Limousine in 2000.
In 2021 this Goggomobil was on display in 'Het andere Museum', Leeuwarden.
Here we see Van Slooten with his old Goggo T300 in his back yard.

Special:
- The new TA was lower, wider, more spacious and has a more comfortable cockpit than its predecessor, the PB, but still many components borrowed from Morris. The production of these sports cars was concentrated at a factory in Abingdon.
- When first introduced, this bench-type two-seater vehicle with cut-out doors, folding windscreen, a tall, square radiator, (known as the T Type and only after the advent of the TB did the TA designation come into use), could be purchased in open and closed configuration.
- Later, the open coupé, referred to as an Airline Coupé by Carbodies Limited in Coventry (but only one or two is thought to have been made), was replaced with a Drophead style, using a soft-top.
- There was also a successful Tickford embodiment by Salmons in Newport Pagnell, 252 units built of which presumably only a dozen survivors.
- The Cream Cracker Team became three factory TAs with the 1600cc engine of the larger MG VA Tourer in 1937, being very successful in the hill climb races that season.
- Allan Tomlinson won the 1939 Australian Grand Prix driving an MG TA.
- The T-Series became the icon of British Sports Cars.
