This is a receiver, with the photodiode connected directly to the fiber, and wirebonded across the gap to the ceramic substrate. You can see a bare die which is probably the first-stage (high speed, low-noise) transconductance amplifier, and the SOIC-8 IC is probably for DC biasing.

When the spade is there, the toilet is free. When it isn't there, the toilet is occupied. Dig your hole, dump all you need in there, burn the toilet paper, close the hole and put a stick in it to warn other people not to dig there.

Reducing food loss and waste is essential for building more efficient value chains, lowering the climate footprint of agri‑food systems, and improving farmer livelihoods. This seminar brings together new insights and emerging evidence on how to tackle this challenge from multiple angles.
In the first segment, Jocelyn Boiteau and Prabhu Pingali will share key findings from their new book, Wasted Potential: Tackling Food Loss and Waste Across Transforming Food Systems. Their work takes a holistic view of where losses occur from production through consumption, and how smarter policies and investments can meaningfully reduce them. The book importantly also highlights the need for better metrics and approaches to understanding where and why losses occur.
This book launch will be followed by presentations on new IFPRI research on innovative approaches to measuring and reducing food loss and waste in perishable foods. This includes research on the use of artificial intelligence to improve food loss measurement accuracy, reducing spoilage in meat supply chains, and other emerging tools for understanding and addressing losses in highly perishable products.
The building will grow from its current 60,000 square feet to just over 200,000 square feet. Structural steel erection continues on the east patient tower and is in progress on the west surgical addition as well. Concrete floor pans have been poured and finished with some steel studs installed on small sections of the patient tower. Temporary mobile trailers have been brought in to relocate clinic spaces while primary renovation work is taking place. In the spring, the Mercy Options building on the south section of the property will also be expanded in order to provide additional group meeting space. You can take a virtual tour by visiting Walworth.MercyHealthSystem.org.
The City of Clearwater, Clearwater Public Library System and the Clearwater Library Foundation broke ground for the new Countryside Branch Library on August 29, 2014. Construction will be completed in 2015. For more information, visit www.myclearwater.com/cpl/about/locations/newcountryside.asp
