Jovian System - taken on 18 March 2017 with NexImage 5MP Camera, connected to Celestron NexStar 6 SE Telescope.
Originated from 2 videos, normal Jupiter, with the moons not visible, and overexposed Jupiter, where the moons were clearly visible, both captured in iCap and processed in Registax 6.
The moons from the overexposed image were copied and pasted onto the normal Jupiter image, using Paint Shop Pro 8.
The colour of Galilean Moon labels reflect the average colour of the moons picked with a paint colour dropper.

On our walk today we cut across the golf course. This tree, growing aside a wet weather ditch, was one I'd not noticed before. Its attachment to the earth at two levels -- along the edge of the ditch and into the ditch -- makes it look both well-grounded and a little precarious.
Fluvial deposits are sedimentary layers laid down in fluvial systems - rivers and streams. In the channel facies, deposits are usually poorly sorted and cross-bedded. In the ancient rock record, channel deposits are typically sandstones and conglomerates. In the floodplain facies, deposits are usually fine-grained - in other words, mud. With burial and lithification, floodplain deposits become horizontally layered shales, maybe with mudcracks and occasional plant fossils, representing growth between flood events.
Seen here is a Holocene fluvial deposit alongside a modern stream channel in southwestern Ohio. The deposit is dominated by platy limestone slabs, which are derived from the local bedrock - the famous Cincinnatian Series of the tristate area of Ohio-Kentucky-Indiana. Rocks in the Cincinnatian were deposited in relatively shallow marine facies during the Late Ordovician. The Cincinnatian succession is mostly interbedded fossiliferous limestones and shales. Most of the limestones are event beds (= tempestites), deposited during ancient storms.

Demasiada rabia acumulada.
Demasiadas palabras escupidas y demasiadas calladas.

SM-62 Snark Guidance System
The Snark was an air-breathing, subsonic, winged missile designed to carry nuclear warhead from bases in the United States to targets on other continents. It was briefly deployed in the 1950s but soon replaced by ballistic missiles.
The Snark guidance used a combination of inertial and stellar techniques to guide and navigate the missile to targets up to 8,000 kilometers (5,000 miles) away. The inertial system, consisting of gyroscopes, accelerometers, and a computer, guided the missile during launch. Once the missile achieved cruising altitude, the system found and locked onto a predetermined star and corrected any errors in its trajectory. The inertial system took over again during the dive to the target. The advances in stellar and inertial navigation that Northrop Aircraft developed for the Snark were later used on other aircraft, most notably the SR-71 Blackbird.

BAe Systems Maritime Integration & Support Centre (MISC) in Portsmouth - a specialist facility providing vital support for Royal Navy warships whilst researching future combat systems and technologies.
Located on Portsdown Hill and shaped like a Type 45 destroyer, the MISC is a unique facility that accurately replicates real-life ship conditions using the same combat system technology found across the Royal Navy’s surface fleet - including systems used to track threats, co-ordinate weapons and manage on-deck aircraft movements. The facility enables highly skilled engineers to develop and test key elements of combat systems before they are installed on ships and, once in service, provide them with through-life support.
I live in North Toronto where you never ask neighbours "whatz their biz". Almost broke that rule when the guy around the corner drove up with what looked like an Air Launch Cruise Missile strapped to the roof of his yellow truck. Not too worried, you need a B-52 to drop this sucker. Still, I wonder what my neighbour does for a living. Prop builder for Dr Strangelove Two? Or, is he a Trump secret agent ready to protect the border from we Canucks? Wonder if he worked with me at Litton Systems Canada, where real ALCMs were made?
August 14, 2019 - NREL researchers and EHS Safety experts discuss testing parameters and procedure for a 10kW Power Take-Off (PTO) system designed for a wave energy converter on the 2.5 MW dynamometer at NREL's Flatirons Campus. A specially designed gearbox using the MMR (Mechancial Motion Rectifier) mechanism of is capable of rectifying the bi-direction input into uni-direction to drive the generator. Researchers are performing a system characterization test to determine the dynamic performance of the PTO and identify some unknown parameters. (Photo by Dennis Schroeder / NREL)
