Look what surrounds you now
More than you ever dreamed
Have you forgotten just how hard it used to be
So whats it going to take
For you to realize
It all could go away in one blink of an eye
It happens all the time

...an old twisted and lightening struck maple tree can't escape the invading barberry bushes that surround it.
This scene is on my neighbor's land east of us. One section of their woods is covered in barberries.
Most people think that shadows follow, precede or surround beings or objects. The truth is that they also surround words, ideas, desires, deeds, impulses and memories.

I really liked the different colors and the shadow/highlights in these Lilly pads, and the single flower seemed to be a perfect subject. I like the simplicity! Shot at Lake Meridian, in Washington State.

It was foggy this morning so I went for a walk along the river hoping that the fog would lift. It didn't but these cows obviously assumed I had food and cornered me next to the river and a gate. I tried to reason with them to no avail and eventually had to wave my tripod at them as I escaped.

Managed to get out this morning and pay the beach a visit - this time it was Newcastle Beach, NSW; Australia.
Here I've used the rusty posts that surround what's known locally as The Canoe (or World) Pool a children's saltwater pool that is located beside the Newcastle Ocean Baths.
The sun was pretty high in the sky so it was necessary for me to use my Lee Big Stopper and Lee .9 Hard Grad filters to create this long exposure image.

Hope too that you have a wonderful week!!!
This church is usually stunningly framed by the mountain in the background. But on this day, I woke up super early to witness the sunrise, making it even harder to watch the fog envelop this historic church.
We went for a drive today out to the Northern Beaches of NSW, stopping at Church Point, Newport and Dee Why. We stopped at the Newport Arms Hotel and had lunch and they had some gazanias in the garden. The bees were going crazy today for some reason. This one is straight out of the camera with no adjustment other than slight cropping.
Surrounded by all the lush Summer greens added a nice softness to this charming historic stone bridge. And such a lovely waterfall too!
