"I surrender, I surrender,

I'm giving up the role of pretender." (Russ Ballard)

Roanyer Ria mask, blue lenses, lashes, G cups, sweet blue lace frock, and modest curves encased in a new pair of beige Rose Sakura sheer to waists. The latter feel just as wonderful as the black ones, but they are not quite as shiny. More photos, as always, here... www.deviantart.com/marilynbardot

Every now and then you find a scene that you know will be perfect in a classic black & white. This was the case when I discovered Bondleigh Hall ruins for the first time on Friday.

The ball always wins.

This was taken this morning at the Bear Lake West golf course. Me and E went out early so that we could get back early enough to get to Raspberry Days.

Summers at Bear Lake...

We must in tears

Unwind a love knit up in many years.

In this last kiss I here surrender thee

Back to thyself, so thou again art free;

Thou in another, sad as that, resend

The truest heart that lover e'er did lend.

If you ever travel the main A9 Road south of Kingussie you are almost certain to notice these ruins from the side of the road. It was really cold by the time I got here and even colder once I was over and inside the ruins.

There are plenty noticeboards with information about these impressive ruins "After the Jacobite rising of 1715 four defensive barracks were built to police the Highlands. Ruthven, holding a company of infantry was completed in 1721. Later a stable was added for horses of dragoons patrolling General Wade’s new military road. In 1745 Ruthven was successfully defended against a detachment of Prince Charles Edward Stuart’s army, but surrendered to his main force in the following year, when the barracks were burnt.

The first castle made of wood was reputed to be built on the mound by Walter Conwyn, Lord of Badenoch in 1229. In 1371 Ruthven became the property of the Wolf of Badenoch. His castle had been seized and destroyed by the Earl of Ross in 1451".

Our old garden seat surrendering to nature. I was playing around with ETTR and histograms to get the widest dynamic range possible. Man, there is a lot to learn about getting the shot you want.

The Desiderata of Happiness

Go placidly amid the noise and haste,

and remember what peace there may be in silence.

As far as possible without surrender

be on good terms with all persons.

Speak your truth quietly and clearly;

and listen to others,

even the dull and the ignorant;

they too have their story.

Avoid loud and aggressive persons,

they are vexations to the spirit.

If you compare yourself with others,

you may become vain and bitter;

for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.

Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.

Keep interested in your own career, however humble;

it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.

Exercise caution in your business affairs;

for the world is full of trickery.

But let this not blind you to what virtue there is;

many persons strive for high ideals;

and everywhere life is full of heroism.

Be yourself.

Especially, do not feign affection.

Neither be cynical about love;

for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment

it is as perennial as the grass.

Take kindly the counsel of the years,

gracefully surrendering the things of youth.

Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.

But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings.

Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.

Beyond a wholesome discipline,

be gentle with yourself.

You are a child of the universe,

no less than the trees and the stars;

you have a right to be here.

And whether or not it is clear to you,

no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.

Therefore be at peace with God,

whatever you conceive Him to be,

and whatever your labors and aspirations,

in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul.

With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams,

it is still a beautiful world.

Be cheerful.

Strive to be happy.
