Comparing two versions of Cinderella Wedding Dolls, by the Disney Store. The 2011 Once Upon a Wedding Cinderella 12'' Doll is on the left, and the 2013 Classic Wedding Cinderella 12'' Doll is on the right. They are posed standing next to each other, supported by Kaiser doll stands (not included with the dolls). The major differences between them are that the 2013 doll's wedding outfit is a greatly simplified version of the 2011 doll's outfit, the 2013 doll's face and hair are in the new 2012 style, and the 2013 doll has the new fully articulated legs, with external knee and ankle joints. A full review follows the specs on the two dolls.

Once Upon a Wedding Cinderella Doll 12'' H
US Disney Store
$19.50 (first release), $22.50 (second release)
Released January 2011, re-released December 2011.
My comparative review will breakdown the differences between the dolls in various physical categories.
PackagingThe 2011 doll comes in a larger, sturdier box to accommodate her larger dress and veil. It's original price of $19.50 (first edition in January 2011) was increased to $22.50 for the re-release in December 2011. The 2013 doll is part of the Disney Princess Classic Doll Collection, and is in the same sized box, with the same $14.50 price. The good thing is that it also participates in the frequent sales of the Classic Doll line, for instance the current promotion of $10 each for 2 or more dolls. There is also a Special Wedding Edition of the Classic Rapunzel doll, with short brown hair and a simplified wedding dress.
Face:Neither doll's face is especially movie accurate, but here is a comparison of their details. Their head molds are almost identical, but with minor difference in their ears, noses and upper lip areas. The most obvious difference is in their eyes. The 2011 doll has light blue eyes staring straight ahead, with pink eyeshadow, and eight long thin eyelashes over each eye. The 2013 doll has deep blue eyes that are a bit smaller, and glancing to her left, with glittering silver eyeshadow and three long, thick eyelashes over each eye. They have thick brown eyebrows, with the 2013 doll having slightly thicker and lighter brows. The 2013 doll has a slight sharper, smaller nose. They have open mouth smiles with pink lips. The 2013 doll has slightly fuller lips, with a deeper pink color. The overall look of the 2013 doll's face is more youthful, and livelier than the 2011 doll, and I think is prettier.
Hair:Their hair is very similar, being light, almost platinum blonde in color, with their hair gathered into a bun on top and curly bangs over their foreheads. The light blonde hair color is very different from the movie character's strawberry blonde hair, but it is the usual color for all recent Disney Store Cinderella dolls. The 2013 doll's hair is slightly deeper in color than the 2011 doll. The intricate, neatly done bun on the 2013 doll is much more movie accurate than the larger, simpler bun of the 2012 doll. The 2013 doll has an additional side curl that forms a large closed loop over the left side of her head, which was not in the movie.
Outfits:The 2011 doll has a very elaborate wedding gown, with a full length veil, elbow length gloves, and petticoat. The wedding gown is made of silver satin with a printed white floral pattern. The bodice has off the shoulder straps. The skirt is very wide, with an opening in front, with glittering blue trim. At the waist is a large bow of the same material as the dress, with a light blue rose at the center. Under the skirt is a white satin slip with a three layer ruffled white tulle false petticoat front panel sewn to the slip, with multi-colored glitter, which shows through the opening in the satin skirt. Under the slip is a full length stiff white tulle petticoat, which keeps the skirt very poofy. The veil is made of very flexible light blue sheer tulle that is full length and can be shaped into many different patterns. Her gloves are of stretch white material, go up to her elbows, and fit snuggly.
The 2013 doll has a greatly simplified version of the 2011 doll's outfit. It is made of plain white satin, with blue trim in the skirt. It too has an opening in the skirt, through which is seen a two layed light blue tulle false petticoat, that is sewn to the satin slip under the skirt. There is a thin white satin ribbon at the waist, with a blue rose at its center. She has no petticoat, so the dress is much less poofy than the 2011 one. Her veil is white sheer tulle, that is half length. Her gloves are white stretch material, and go up to just below her elbows. They are a bit shorter than the 2011 ones, and the hems are not as neatly sewn. The outfit is simple, especially compared to the 2011 doll, but is elegant and looks beautiful.
Shoes:The 2011 doll has translucent pale white high heeled shoes. Her feet can be seen through the shoes. However, the shoes do not look like they are made of glass.
The 2013 doll has perfectly clear high heeled shoes, that really do look like the glass slippers of the movie. The heels are angled too close to the soles of the shoes, so they don't look as elegant in shape as the 2011 ones.
Body:Both dolls are 11 1/2'' tall (in high heels), and have pale flesh colored skin. They have the same torso, and same arms, but different legs, as further detailed under articulation.
Articulation:The 2011 doll has articulation in the neck, shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips and knees (internal). The knees are internal click stop hinge joints in the rubber legs. The ankles are in a fixed angled position, to accommodate high heels.
The 2013 doll has the full articulation introduced in the 2012 Princess dolls, beginning with Classic Merida. Besides the same neck, shoulders, elbows, wrists joints as the 2011 doll, she has solid plastic legs, with new hip joints, external hinge knee joints, and ball jointed ankles. She can sit down with her knees bent 90 degrees, but her legs have to splay apart due to the construction of her hip joints. She can wear either high heels or flat shoes equally well, with her new ankle joints, and rubbery feet.
Accessories:The 2011 doll has a blue rose corsage tied with blue ribbon to her left wrist. She has light blue button earrings.
The 2013 doll has the same light blue button earrings as the 2011 doll.
Summary:The 2011 doll has a spectular wedding dress and veil, that far surpasses that of the 2013 doll. However, the new doll is in the play doll line, so is significantly less expensive than the older wedding doll. The new doll has the new look in her face and hair, that may appeal more to some than the older doll. The new doll also has the new more extensive leg articulation. The 2011 is a much better doll in general, but the 2013 is still beautiful, and a very good value, especially when on a $10 sale, which is half the price of the older doll.

The London Buses Incident Response Unit liveried version of CMN's Mercedes Sprinter lends itself well to fire appliance roles. This one has had its original lettering stripped off with nail varnish remover and been rebranded as an Incident Support Unit, and the rescue boat on tow is a Cararama/Schuco model. My Limited Edition Elsa 17'' Doll has been fully deboxed, and is posed standing. She is supported by the included doll stand. Her skirt and cape are opened up halfway to show off her legs and shoes. Her hair is draped over her left shoulder to show off her braids and snowflake hair jewelry. My doll is #102 of 2500. The photos in this series were all taken with built in camera flash.
Elsa is wearing her Snow Queen outfit, that is similar in design to the that of the Harrods LE 100 Elsa doll, but is less detailed. The light blue green satin inner dress is essentially the same in both dolls, but the Harrods dolls has a few more round crystals just below the bodice. The front of the bodice is covered in rectangular crystals representing icicles. The skirt has a slit for the legs and has a diminishing density of round clear rhinestones closer to the hemline. The attached oversized cape (or gown overlay) is made of double layered organza, with dark blue embroidery and jewels. It is less full and much less detailed than the Harrods cape. In particular, the icicle and snowflake embroidered patterns with the accompanying jewels are only near the edges of the cape, and there are no jewels in the area between the icicles and the snowflakes. Instead, there is a covering of clear hexagonal glitter. Fortunately, the glitter is glued very securely to the cape is sheds very little. There are also fewer blue jewels in her sheer long sleeves than on the Harrods doll.
Her high heeled blue shoes are same snowflake design as the Harrods, except that the color is a plainer blue, without the iridescence or silver paint making it look metallic. Like the Harrods Elsa, she has fixed angled feet, so she looks elegant in her high heels. Other than that, she has the same articulation as the most current Disney Store 17'' Limited Edition Princess dolls. She has ball jointed neck, shoulders, elbows, wrists and hips. Her knees are external hinge joints. She can free stand with the help of her gown, but only with great difficultly, and is very unstable in that pose, the same as with the Harrods doll. Therefore almost all the photos of her standing have her supported by the included doll stand.
She has light blonde hair that is formed into long braids. There are long curvy bangs that are combed back and heavily gelled to form a sort of crown over her head. There is a solitary curly bang on the left side of her head. She long curving rooted eyelashes, that are not as curvy or well formed as the Harrods Elsa (or the LE 2500 Anna). There are two snowflake jeweled ornaments that are sewn to her braid. The Harrods Elsa has a third snowflake on the side of her head. She has a beautiful angular face with an elfin appearance. She as large blue eyes, small pointy nose, thin deep red lips in a slight closed mouth smile, and rouge on upper cheeks. She has a few freckles on her upper cheeks, in an identical pattern to the Harrods Elsa. Her skin is a very pale purplish pink, that is smooth and dull in appearance. She is slightly paler than the Harrods doll, who has shiny pearly textured skin.
She is a very beautiful doll, with an exotic face and a commanding presence. She has a dramatic outfit that is fit for royalty. She is also very movie accurate, and well worth her price.

"RAGE--Sing, O goddess, the anger of Achilles son of Peleus, that brought countless ills upon the Achaeans. Many a brave soul did it send hurrying down to Hades, and many a hero did it yield a prey to dogs and vultures, for so were the counsels of Zeus fulfilled from the day on which the son of Atreus, king of men, and great Achilles, first fell out with one another. We took a drive into the city and walked around the newly opened up Red Zone area, New Regent Street, April 24, 2013, Christchurch New Zealand.
Mercifully the Grand Old Lady of Christchurch Theatre just about survived the massive earthquakes and considerable aftershocks that rocked the city in 2010 & 2011
She is now well on the way to full restoration and repair, with the current target of April 2014 for reopening. Some extensive earthquake strengthening work undertaken in 1998/99 without doubt saved this 100 year old Heritage building from complete collapse but some significant deconstruction was required to secure the remaining structure and protect the key interior and exterior heritage elements.
The rebuilt and restored Isaac Theatre Royal will once again rise like the shining star she is on Gloucester Street in 2014.

Deboxing Moana. The doll and accessories have been removed from the backing. Moana still has various factory restraints on her, and is supported by the included display stand. Then the large plastic support piece behind her is removed.
Here are detailed photos of my Disney Store Limited Edition Moana 17 inch doll, boxed and deboxed. She is #1531 of 6500. I also got a spare Moana that I will leave mint in box, but I haven't looked to see what edition number that doll has.
She has mock sand on her feet, and there is also sand on the base for Pua. Somewhat like glitter, the sand does shed, and found its way on the sides of the box, and on the doll itself. Some of the sand on the tips of her toes also got rubbed off.
Moana has a unique body, but is fully articulated. She has ball jointed neck, shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, knees and ankles. Instead of the chest joint that are on most of the female Disney Store 17 inch LE dolls, Moana has a waist pivot joint that allows her upper torso to spin around 360 degrees. This is similar to the Designer Princess waist joint, but is lower down her back, just above her butt. That is doubtless due to her bare midriff. With large her flat feet, Moana can free stand very stably. But I think that some of her joints are a little too loose, especially her waist joint.
Her body proportions are also unique for a Disney LE doll, but that is due to those of the animated character herself. In particular, her arms and legs are thicker than the other LE Princess dolls. Rather than the flat hands of the other LE Princess dolls, Moana has curved hands, which I think look more natural. Her face is very pretty and a very good likeness of the animated character. She has thick eyebrows, big brown eyes glancing to her upper right. She has short painted eyelashes, but no rooted eyelashes (like the LE Merida dolls). She has a large flat nose, and full dark brown lips in a closed mouth smile.
She has dark brown wavy hair that has a lot of hair product, so it feels a bit crunchy. Some of her hair was actually stuck to the plastic support, her body and her clothes, due to the hair product not being fully dry when she was assembled. There was also some bits of tissue paper stuck to her hair.
She has a garland of cloth leaves and plastic flowers on her head, It is permanently attached to her head. There are plastic leafy bands around her left arm and both ankles. The arm band was rather loose, and I had to keep on moving it back up her arm. I think it could use a rubber band to keep it tight, which I don't think I accidently cut when deboxing her. Her ankle bands did have rubber bands around them. She has a beaded plastic necklace with a shell pendant that opens. I removed the large rubber band around her upper chest and the plastic support that kept the pendent attached to her top. But I left the rubber bands that kept the upper part of the necklace in place. She has an short satin orange top with white beaded decoration. There is a matching belt or sash around her hips, over her skirt. Her skirt has two woven layers, with a straw underskirt.
Pua is very stable on the sand dune base (and there are indentations in the base to show where to place him). Hei Hei can free stand on Pua's head, but you have to place him very carefully, using the indentations on Pua's head as a guide. He can also be made secure by a rubberband around Pua's head and over Hei Hei's feet.
Moana's oar is placed on her left side in the box, but the way the handle is formed on the oar, it fits most easily on her right hand (to our left when she faces us).

I had a bit of time to think about this shot, not when I was prancing around this wet field in office shoes, but in the last half hour as I've plucked away at all the dust spots. It let me think about how the spectrum of refracted light is just the icing on the cake of a scene that's full of nature showing off: from the typically special light, showcasing the landscape against the laden sky, to that strangely bright part of the sky that exists inside the main bow, to the simple pleasure of standing out in simultaneous sunshine and rain. So, here it is without those colours to distract from all the other good stuff.

I found the image intriguing but felt the caption needed improvement.
Effective Motivation is most successful when it conceals a veiled threat.
I was looking for "Bearing the crushing weight of the world on your shoulders and I feel flat, of Atlas", combined with the fear of "Work your knuckles to the bone or face the fear of falling, you depend on us more than we need you."
The title "Hang In There!" evokes a Scholastic® poster kitten.
"Team Support" is a theme more likely to blend in among true motivational posters.
Speaking of alternative ways to look at something, at first take the happy worker is supporting the the immense team standing in vapours. The caption reinforces the concept of the team is supporting the indivual worker.
