Arizona, you might ask? Nope, this was taken in Hawaii on the summit of Kilauea. Some brilliant reds caused by the volcanic activity and accentuated by Velvia's exceptional handling of color.

為何最精彩的部分總是接近秀的尾聲？為何最美麗最動人的部分結束的如此快速到我們可以希望它延長久一點？當我們初到一個新的地方，充滿陌生人的環境總是容易令人感到尷尬，而隨著時間的過去，我們會感到愈來愈自在。但是這種自在和熟悉的感覺總是發生在每趟旅程的尾聲，令人覺得難過和可惜。而每一次我都下定決心要在下一趟旅程更早對人打開心胸，但我每次都失敗，我總是很慢開啟才對人開啓心房。

Near the End, July 3th, 2013.
Why does the climax always show up near the end of the show? And why does the most beautiful and emotional part end up so quickly that we can barely catch it?
When we just arrived a new place, it's easy to feel awkward among strangers. As the time wend by, we feel at ease among them. However, it always happen near the end of every joinery that making me feel pity and sad. I decide to open myself in my next joinery every time, but it alway fail and I always start slow. But, you know what? Fuck that. I'm not going to push myself and I follow my own step.

I was at this resort exactly 5 years ago...and it was quite interesting to shoot from the same locations, but with a far greater photography knowledge :)
I couldn't believe how late it was in the evening yet it was still so light outside. Back home in the Chicago area, it would have been completely dark at that time.
If you think about it, the sunset we see is really part of one continuous sunset that has been circling our planet for billions of years.

Nieuw Statendam - sunset series
A very unusual sunset tonight featuring a persistent shaft of light which grew noticeably larger as sunset approached.
April 25, 2019 - 34.73N, 45.59W at the time of this post with sunset about 6 hours ago.
