The picture shows a very kitschy sunset at Port d'Andratx. We drove to the most western point of Mallorca to see the sunset - and it was no disappointment!

We went to the beach to watch the Strawberry full moon rise, but clouds filled in on the horizon, and an Easterly wind was whipping!
There would be no moonrise, but the moisture in the clouds provided a sunset light show in the form of a partial rainbow. It came and went all evening long.

"Every city in the world has its own special sunset, if once this sunset is seen carefully, then it is like reaching it, because it is so beautiful. Just like you are in heaven I think "seeing the sunset and not seeing the dream can be two almost impossible things in this world".
Sunsets are 'a-dozen-a-dime' - in fact, they are... infinite number for free. Why shoot them?
This was a little test of the 16-50 mm kit lens (a.k.a. Sony's worst lens ever) at the extreme wide and long ends. Pretty decent results for a humble lens of such poor reputation. The sunset wasn't bad, either - and as an added bonus we had the tallest mountain in the Aegean on the horizon (also a spiritual landmark for many).

Not the perfect sunset with the cloud covering the sun, but the light attracts me.
Pretty neat sunset tonight, too bad I couldn't go out for a better view. I've been sick for over a week, first with the flu and then with severe laryngitis, and have been staying home for almost a week under doctors orders to rest and not talk. I'm really tired of being sick. And I'm missing the fall foliage!
I have not had much time for Flickr or my camera this year at all but I did manage to catch the sunset after taking a walk around the Aloch Dam one night. It was cold but very pretty :-)
I recently returned home from co-leading a winter workshop in Yellowstone. Wow what a fantastic place to see in winter. Anyways, did not get the best of conditions but still had fun. Met lots of great people and learned a bunch. I believe it is important to share images from a workshop even when they are not your best work. So take it easy on me when it comes to this latest set of images...
