Christmas came early for me from BZPower. :) Got lucky this year and ended up with stuff that I never had! So fun time abounded as I built LEGO sets on the floor with pieces pushed into a pile as they should be.
This is the time of year when we get a lot of night blooming cactus putting out flowers, and this is one that I photographed early this morning.
Lighting stuff: Lit with a Yongnuo manual flash in an 8.6 inch Lastolite soft box, hand held at camera left. The flash and my tripod mounted camera were triggered with a Yongnuo RF-603N.

At the 9th st. rookery in Santa Rosa, Ca. you spend so much time watching the activities in the trees and sky sometimes you fail to look down and see what's going on on the ground. This Snowy Egret was 'strutting his stuff' while walking across the road in search of that special twig or branch for nesting material!
