I had the privilege of shooting some images of double-neck guitarist Ian Ethan Case after his performance Saturday night at Studio 99
For most of the images I wanted a "street lamp" style look, so I had the Fabulous Sara hold a gridded strobe directly over Ian's head in the studio. I think these images look pretty sharp.
Big thanks to Ian for sticking with us past Midnight and letting us take some portraits!

A great afternoon's fun with my niece Elle. This was my first photoshoot in my new "studio" aka my spare room. Hopefully every model will be as enthusiastic and give me as many laughs as Elle did.

This is also on Waterslide's site. It shows Metta at about the age four or five. The Franks family was middle class, not wealthy. Linda (mother) owned a general store, which apparently sold dry goods, patent medicine, and perhaps other medicine, etc. Father Franks is listed as a farmer in the 1880 census. Just about everyone in the region (Wayne County, Ohio) at that time was listed as a farmer (most men) or home maker (most women) or student in some cases. A large percentage of the population was literate. Quite a few of the adults were immigrants, almost all from Germany - this information is in the census records and is publically available (we have access through my library).
Some photos taken after helping my cousin Leah Evans with her hairstyling shoot with some of her models.
Our friend and pro photographer, Shoeless Paul Kirchner, is working on a project of funeral photos of his friends. That's right, he wants to have a library of our faces "in the event of" so the occasion won't be adorned with recent iPhone selfies. Yup, Paul has a dark and oblique sense of humor. He wanted to make my theme "cigarettes and martinis". It was fun and funny.
