Finally, some good pictures of Charlotte to upload! (: She had a little photo shoot the other day.
For those of you who don't know, Charlotte (Shan Ria) is my only pullip. I'm not going to customize her, she's already such a pretty girl. ^_^ But soon enough I'm going to make a custom Aquel! :D

This was found in Vermont but is an unsent postcard with "Made in Canada" on the back.
I really like the interesting design of this woman's dress but the little girl is wearing very peculiar shoes.
This was taken at end of the shoot. Erin was trying out some interesting poses as I was quickly adjusting the lights. This was kind of an in the moment type of capture.
I stared at the colour version during post processing for a while, something just didn't look right but I couldn't quite put my fingers on it. I was frustrated so I ditched the PP and started browsing pictures online. I was looking at some Dan Winters and Richard Avedon work and all of a sudden the lightbulb in my head went off.
"That's it! B&W!"
I then went back the picture and processed it in B&W with quiet a bit of grain to give it the old film grainy look. :)
Lighting info:
1 strobe w/beauty dish as main in front of the model
1 strobe w/stripbox as rim light camera left
1 bare strobe gridded pointing at the background to give the starburst.
As strange as it sounds, the model was told to imagine she were in the Irish potato famine, and this was the result. I couldn't have been more impressed.
Post-processed in Lightroom 3 and Photoshop CS5.

Image taken with Strobes with White Reflectors L & R. Sharp focus was challenging with the veil and took a few shots before I was able to come up with a technique that worked.

I had the privilege of shooting some images of double-neck guitarist Ian Ethan Case after his performance Saturday night at Studio 99
For most of the images I wanted a "street lamp" style look, so I had the Fabulous Sara hold a gridded strobe directly over Ian's head in the studio. I think these images look pretty sharp.
Big thanks to Ian for sticking with us past Midnight and letting us take some portraits!

Studio Photo Shoot June 27, 2009.
Thanks to Anthony (Soo Serious) and Kim (Orbitgal) for sharing their studio time with me. Great fun and learning.
A great afternoon's fun with my niece Elle. This was my first photoshoot in my new "studio" aka my spare room. Hopefully every model will be as enthusiastic and give me as many laughs as Elle did.
