My new #harshbeautiful portrait of Stuart Lorimer - psychiatrist specialising in gender identity. He and husband David Gray were the very first to commission their portraits almost a decade ago now. This new double portrait marks a special anniversary!

The Bangor man in action at the Walter Rusk Memorial trial. These rock formations at the Leadmines were incredibly slippy and got worse as the day went on. Stuart made it look far too easy and he's a very good Moto-X rider as well.

Stuart has just been awarded an honorary LLB (Doctor of Law). Now his title runs something like, Beloved National Treasure Doctor Stuart Hamilton, LLB, Order of Canada.
As usual, I had an amazing time being with him. His insight into the artistic process and the life of an artist is profound and I think it is going to become an integral part of the way I work and live.

CBBI with IAIS 513 made its way across the west end of the Iowa Interstate on Nov. 6. After years of trains running here in the dark, it was great to catch this unit in daylight on the west end. It's passing the old CRIP depot at Stuart - look close and you can see the Rock logo on the building.
Not my best tank out there but I like its shapes. There aren't many details in the tracks area. Most of the tank inspired by Legouli's stuart

So far one of the most epic campsites I have ever stayed at. We spent two nights at this spot just above Perfection Lake in the Enchantments exactly five years ago. Prusik Peak and The Temple are on the left, and McClellan Peak is on the right. This was taken on an older point-n-shoot and before I was into photography and editing. somehow I managed to take three consecutive shots that I was able to stitch into the panoramic format image you see here. I didn't even know about pano images at that point.

Visited Portencross Castle today in a glorious spring sunshine and snapped this old painting .This is Scotland at it's best yesterday .Now for the story In the castle's earliest days, it was known as "Arneil" (alternatively spelled "Arnele" or "Ardneil"), and it stood atop Auld Hill. Portencross is believed by some to have been a royal residence, as it is known that several charters of the first two Stuart kings were signed at the castle.
The castle is also believed to be the last mainland resting place for many former Scottish kings. Between the times of Cináed mac Ailpín (810-858) through to the reign of Máel Coluim mac Donnchada (1030/38-1093), the bodies of former kings were taken by road from the east of Scotland, and from Portencross they were ferried to Iona where they would be buried.
The castle was rebuilt in the 14th century, not on Auld Hill, but instead on a rock promontory at the bottom of the hill, overlooking the Firth of Clyde. From this location, Robert II signed several more Royal Charters, and the castle remained occupied until the roof was blown off during a violent storm in 1739. The castle walls still remain in place today, and the building has recently been opened to the public, with visitors able to access a ground floor room, the main hall, and the roof.
