The Lloyd's building is the home of the insurance institution Lloyd's of London, and is located at One Lime Street, in the City of London, England.

It was designed by architect Richard Rogers and built between 1978 and 1986. Bovis were the management contractor for the scheme. [1] Like the Pompidou Centre (designed by Renzo Piano and Rogers), the building was innovative in having its services such as staircases, lifts, electrical power conduits and water pipes on the outside, leaving an uncluttered space inside. The 12 glass lifts were the first of their kind in the UK.

These small circular rock pools, only a few feet across, are built by local beach-goers. Resembling miniature loko (fishponds) of old, these modern-day constructions are built by fishermen to keep their catch alive. They also are used by families as a "kiddie pool" for toddlers.

Bryce Canyon National Park is located in southwestern Utah. The major feature of the park is Bryce Canyon, which despite its name, is not a canyon, but a collection of giant natural amphitheaters along the eastern side of the Paunsaugunt Plateau. Bryce is distinctive due to geological structures called hoodoos, formed by frost weathering and stream erosion of the river and lake bed sedimentary rocks. The red, orange, and white colors of the rocks provide spectacular views for park visitors. Bryce sits at a much higher elevation than nearby Zion National Park. The rim at Bryce varies from 8,000 to 9,000 feet (2,400 to 2,700 m).

New office building construction in the Vinegar Hill neighborhood of Charlottesville Virginia.

The name "Vinegar Hill" in Charlottesville is said to have originated from one of three stories.

The first story is that the name comes from the Battle of Vinegar Hill, which was a battle in the Irish Rebellion of 1798. The battle took place on a hill called Vinegar Hill, and it was a decisive victory for the rebels. It is believed that some Irish immigrants who settled in Charlottesville named their new neighborhood after the battle.

The second story is that the name comes from the fact that there was once a vinegar factory located in the neighborhood. The factory produced vinegar from apples, and the smell of vinegar was often strong in the neighborhood.

The third story is that the name comes from the fact that the neighborhood was once home to a number of moonshiners. Moonshiners are people who make illegal alcohol, and they often use vinegar as an ingredient in their moonshine. The smell of vinegar was often strong in the neighborhood because of the moonshiners.

Which story is the true origin of the name "Vinegar Hill" is unknown. However, all three stories are plausible, and they all help to explain why the neighborhood was given such a unique name.
