Si tolérant...
Voici une première image où l'on retrouve seul ce tout jeune adolescent alors âgé de 5 semaines. Pendant que maman allait lui quérir des petits poissons, il restait tranquille à proximité de nos embarcations, davantage préoccupé par ce qui pouvait se passer en l'air que par notre présence. Étonnante tolérance qui nous aura si bien servie.
This large fir tree along the Mission Road is at least a hundred years old. It has been stuck by lightning and survived all kinds of weather but still stands fast.
I loved the way the sea was on the day I visited Annestown beach. It had a strong surge with big rolling waves with white horses, as you can see here. There were a few surfers out on a few of the beaches of the Copper Coast but I didn’t see any on this beach.

One of 8 radio telescopes forming the Smithsonian Sub-Millimeter Array, at Sunset, about 14kft (=4km) altitude atop Mauna Kea. SMA is a joint project of the Smithsonian Institution and the Academia Sinica Institute for Astronomy and Astrophysics.
More dishes increase sensitivity; more separation yields more aperture and hence resolution; tracking a target over multiple hours on multiple nights lengthens exposure. Linking SMA with similar radio telescope arrays in California and Arizona to form the Event Horizon Telescope provided the first image of Sag A*, the black hole at the center of the Milky Way Galaxy. The journal article describing the observation of Sag A* had several hundred authors, from multiple nations.
The short stairway offers access to the control room behind the disk, sufficient for a pair of engineers, as we shall see eventually. Telescope guidance and data recording are fully automated.
The location—as you can see—is cold and windy at sunset, and no place for tourists in the dark.

This daisy lost the will a week or so ago, but I've still got a few flowers that weren't seen off by last week's snow. It's forecast to get up to a ridiculous 14C on Thursday; global warming's the least of my worries, it's trying to work out whether to wear shorts in late November where the real dilemma lies.
After many frosty nights and heavy rain during the day, there are still surprisingly many roses in bloom in the garden.
