This might look like a piece of art, but it isn't. In fact it is the pier for the ferry from Vlieland to Texel, both Waddenislands.
The small ferry only runs from the end of april till the end of september.
In the wintertime the pier is apparently partly dismantled.
To be honest, I don't know if the tide is extra low now, but the pier looks like it stands in the middle of the sand plain !
Probably made from driftwood.

Portrait work practice... still not where I want it to be, but you never get anywhere without practice, right? (At least that's what I keep telling myself.)

The glasswort blooms beautifully red in autumn and the water of the Wadden Sea flows with the tides through the water channels. Now it is low tide. The mudflats are falling dry.

This impressively large woodcreeper occurs throughout Central America, the Northern Andes, and locally into lowland forests of South America, though it is inconspicous and easily overlooked. San Lorenzo Experimental Station, Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta National Park, Colombia
The pilot tender of the Belgian Pilotage Service "Pieter de Coninck" has brought the sea pilots aboard the two sea giants sailing in the background and is sailing back to the pilot harbour of the town of Flushing (Vlissingen)
The aluminimum hull is designed in such a way that operations can continue up to a wind force of 8 Beaufort at a wave height of 2,5 to 4 meters.
The ship is propelled by 2 jet foils and has a high course stablity and maneuverability so that the pilot can board the ship to be piloted in complete safety, without the ship having to slow down.
The cruising speed of this pilot tender is 28 knots ( 50 km per hour)
