Une bien belle chance!
Le voici le beau Bruant de Lincoln dont quelques spécimens ont habité les lieux depuis quelques semaines. Cette image, je l'ai réalisée lors de mon plus récent passage la semaine dernière lors d'une journée ensoleillée mettant bien en valeur les couleurs d'automne. Celui-ci se faisait beaucoup plus discret, ne se présentant que sporadiquement et que pour quelques secondes à la fois, fallait ne pas être loin lors de ces rares occasions. Je l'avais bien capté à chacune de mes nombreuses visites, mais toujours un petit peu trop loin — comme l'image que je vous ai déjà présentée il y a quelques semaines —, et jamais sur les si belles perches du lieu. Lors de cet autre court passage, j'étais pour une fois à la bonne place. Tout près. Une bien belle chance!

I shot this image when visiting old friends, and it brings back memories. My roots are just a bit north of there, but the landscape with the fat clay is very similar.
Cycling to school. Every day 15 km x 2. The view close to our home, where my mother still lives today. The land where a I worked after graduating high school to earn some money to get myself a new guitar amp and a train ticket across Europe for holidays.

Thank heavens for this trait, it makes handling Auntie Elk so much easier. She is quite a nervous dog and somewhat bipolar when it comes to other dogs so having her being able to concentrate on one thing only to the exclusion of everything else is a godsend. That being so, if I clock an approaching dog I just need to show the ball or pick up a twig and it immediately becomes the the centre of the world!
Just after takeoff from Invercargill on our way home after work. Like the morning trip it was mainly in cloud but when we saw a break it made up for it.

… oder auch 193 368, die die Werbung Starke Cargo/Strong Cargo trägt, war anfang des Sommers 2024 zur regelmäßigen Frist in Gremberg verplant. Nach ihrer Frist ging es auch direkt wieder nach Ostdeutschland, um dort in ihrer gewohnt Umgebung Arbeit zur leisten. Natürlich wurde die Lok nicht einfach so wieder überführt, sondern man hat sie mit einem Planmäßig Zug in Richtung Seelze und dann weiter Richtung Seddin fahren lassen. Ein Glück war es, dass es ein Zug bei Tageslicht war und nicht in der Nacht. So passierte der EZ 51434 von Gremberg nach Seelze die Nordstrecke bei Hamm-Lerche.

This large fir tree along the Mission Road is at least a hundred years old. It has been stuck by lightning and survived all kinds of weather but still stands fast.
I loved the way the sea was on the day I visited Annestown beach. It had a strong surge with big rolling waves with white horses, as you can see here. There were a few surfers out on a few of the beaches of the Copper Coast but I didn’t see any on this beach.

Ils sont particulièrement abondant en ce lieu. Jamais je crois en avoir vu autant en un même endroit. Sympathique petit pic. Tellement petit. J’en ai observé un, à Angrignon cette fois-là, venir manger des morceaux d’arachide dans ma main la semaine dernière, il est resté jusqu’au moment où il avait tout mangé la quelques vingtaine de miettes... Je l’ai observé tout près de mes yeux. Vraiment tout près. C’est fou. Incroyable comment ont peu alors prendre la mesure de la petitesse de ce charmant Pic mineur! Incroyable!
